Why is God going to send a strong delusion in the end times?

2Thes 2:11; For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
2Thes 2:12; in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

I think there are many Liberals today who support homosexuality and abortion, yet they believe they are Christians.
God will give us chances and opportunities to repent... dozens, hundreds, 7 times seventy... More than we know, more than we deserve.

...but... if we don't eventually repent....

Rom 1:24; Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
Rom 1:26; For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Rom 1:28; And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

... God will eventually give us over to our sin. There can come a day for some, when it's too late to repent.

1Tim 4:1; But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
1Tim 4:2; by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

This can even happen to "Christians". They turn away from the truth and start following "doctrines of demons".
It says here their conscience becomes seared over, like with a branding iron.

They are no longer able to hear the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit has convicted them time and time again, but they just "tuned Him out" and refuse to listen any longer.
That's a dangerous place to be.

2 Timothy
4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4:4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

This may not address the message of the title. I apologize if it has already been quoted. God may not tempt people although he can set the stage for it. If people truly insist on wanting to do things their way, God will provide a means for that to happen, and for several generations.

Having read the thread, I find disheartening the number of occasions people attack each other for no other reason than to declare they are right and every one should listen to them. I don't have a perfect understanding of Scripture. Why some books were omitted seems open to debate. The King James originally contained the Apocrypha. Its sources were the Torah, Septuagint, Latin Vulgate, and none of the languages used were English. A mixture of languages were used: Hebrew, Aramaic, Latin, and Greek. It was composed by over two dozen authors and copiers spanning a period of over 1,500 years. Modern Bibles claim to be right in their translation. It's a wonder any of it agrees. It's a book intended to teach its readers how to be the light and salt of the world through God's plan of redemption for mankind.

Don't be too harsh with each other. Keep a sense of humour, and have fun learning. Phil 4:8

There are a number of false teachings that are happening today, under our very noses. And some have been being taught for quite a long time.

One such false teaching, predestination . This teaching elliminates the concept of free will.

I guess what astounds me the most with predestination, the pure " unlogic " of it. The whole purpose of Jesus now has no reason. With predestination, what need is there of a savior, what would be the point for Jesus to die and rise again . There would be none.

Yet this teaching is still taught, even some here stated as much. Craziness.

Another false teaching, ' Once saved Always Saved ' . Scripture is Very clear that is not the case . But when this arguement comes up, the proof the Scripture is clear on. Is suddenly set aside . " that is not what it means " will be the comeback. But the clarity of Scripture prevails . Judas . One of the Twelve . Whose name is written in heaven ( said Jesus ) Judas later chooses to betray Jesus to which Jesus states " it would have been better if he was never born "

Those who argue Judas was predestined to betray Jesus, are again bordering on predestination.

Without freewill none of the scripture makes sense.

There are a number of modern teachings that fall under the " false " catigory . All i can tell you . Learn to recognize Gods peace in your hearts. The peace only Jesus can give you .

Interesting How does wisdom clash with wisdom?

Dear Brother,
Though some of your brethren may disagree with you in this or that. I do believe that none of them even in jest "may prefer your demise". For iron sharpens iron, or we'd get a bit dull and full of ourselves without being challenged. As far as great wisdom goes. Then the Glory goes to God for granting us such a boon. That we might edify, lift up, the body of Christ, and each other up in the race we're running.

I would just that the exchanges I've seen here would be more in line with all of James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

You are loved brother, even by those who might disagree with you on some point being discussed at the time.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Predestination is Not a false teaching. Several passages to look at Romans 8: 28, 29, 30. vs 30 "Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified."
Ephesians 1:5 vs 3 - 6 -- well -- most of that chapter. It also includes the basis for OSAS. "Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, vs 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, vs 6 to the praises of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

OSAS -- eternal security is Not a false teaching. -- Ephesians 1:13 - 14 "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory."

A false teaching would be that Jesus Christ is Not the Son of God, but simply a good religious teacher of that day. Or that the blood of Christ is Not sufficient for our salvation -- that we need to do something of our own to help make salvation complete / some 'good work' on our part. Or that there is some other name by which a person can be saved / maybe Hinduism, etc. There are many sects 'out there' who use Bible PLUS the words/ thoughts of their leaders.

Hi Bill. Your demise would merit nothing. The reason our countries have an official opposition in Government is hopefully to provide a check to keep the balance. Cheers

The operative word being "Believers". I still ask, If you only believe a part of the bible, not accepting other parts, do you believe any of the bible? How can you? If God lies about this part, or doesn't know what He's talking about on that part, how can you trust Him? You have to believe it all or not. Am I wrong? And how so?

Why not just assume that people you fellowship with are believing the entire Word of God.

Why are you cynical in your comments . Shouldn't we be able to challenge and recieve challenge . How is one supposed to grow without it
Not cynical...You said "He's wise, and the other guy is wise"....So why do they not agree? Gods Word is not relative. His wisdom is not relative? So...Please answer my question...

I do not assume that because they don't....How often have you given a scripture and somebody replies "I don't believe that? Too often....Applied to healing, applied to rapture, applied to deliverance, salvation and on and on.

May the Holy Spirit fill us .

Sue, i think it was ' Born Again ' that talked about single phrases and content.

That one phrase is not talking of a way of thinking . Predestination makes no sense . If all is Predestined, it would not matter whether Jesus died or not , whether He rose or not .

Predestination basically says God creates people for hell. And that is plainly false. There would be no point for the Apostles..

As for OSAS , Jesus stated Judas name was written in Heaven. Was Jesus mistaken, did He say falsehood. Maybe the Scripture is mistaken, but if we think Scripture is mistaken, because it doesnt fit our belief, then where else is Scripture mistaken. Heck, let us rewrite the Scripture to fit our thinking like the Methodists did.

You only need look at Solomon, supposedly the wisest man that ever lived, short of Jesus. Yet he was full of flaws that is easy for us to see at the least in his allowing his wives to build temples to foreign Gods in Israel. You can be wise in some things and foolish in other things. Only God is wise in all things.

Not all believe the same. There are a ton of differences , even little things . Yet the core thinking is solid .

Jesus is God . There is a Trinity . Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead . Assended into heaven. To recieve eternal life, you must recieve Jesus.

There are a lot of technical issues that cause God's eyes to roll. As an example , Saturday or Sunday.
Now i know, it doesnt matter. But try to tell that to the ones who are hard core on sat or hard core on sun, and you might start a fight.

Another techical issue, dripping water on the head or immersion. Even though the Baptism of Water is a Spiritual thing, we must use water to fullfill it. It is a union of the physical and the spiritual . Like Jesus ( God , physical and spiritual as one )

Another technical issue Baptisms of Water and Fire . They are 2 Baptisms . Most recieve them separately , some will recieve them at the same time . It really isnt up to us on the Baptism of Fire, that is up to the Holy Spirit.

Some will go for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and get nothing.

I could go on, but you can see

I do not assume that because they don't....How often have you given a scripture and somebody replies "I don't believe that? Too often....Applied to healing, applied to rapture, applied to deliverance, salvation and on and on.
When i go to a fellowship meeting , a scripture study , i really enjoy the moment .

Here you will have people at all different levels in faith .

Has it ever occured to anyone here , not all will recieve the Holy Spirit while alive on Earth . Yet i can tell you , that all in Heaven have the Holy Spirit in them.

Now i can see people with question marks in thier heads. Lol

Remember, the physical body is only the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
Your soul is what lives or dies . ( dies in the Lord ) Hell is life without God .

When a person dies , there is a moment , it is the Grace of God .

Hi Sue.
My opinion on predestination is God had planned from the beginning that those who answered the Call would become his children because of their faithfulness that His ways are best. I agree with you that God knew from the outset those who would. Paul exhorted in particular the church at Galatia for their falling away.

Galatians 3:3 - Are you so foolish that having begun in the Spirit, that you are now made perfect by the flesh? (my words)

It seems that one can lose their salvation by substituting a genuine faith for another, or simply walking away. We do need to do something which is remaining faithful and obedient seeking the will of Jesus to the end of our days. God will do the rest. I agree there are many beliefs out there, most leading us down the wrong path. Deciding on which path to take is about how much we trust God to guide us. Cheers.
