Brother-Paul can I ask you to explain to me how to address the Lord, Christ, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, in different situations. ie; praying, walking with, thanks giving, worship.
So am I chatting with Jesus in my daily life or with God or with Christ or the Holy Spirit or all three at the same time as they're All God (the trinity)? Do I pray to God or Jesus or through the Holy Spirit?
I'm just confused who I should be addressing in different situations. I know that each prayer should end with, in Jesus' name Amen. I always say Father, I feel like I'm talking with my Father (about more serious stuff) and sometimes I feel like I'm having a laugh and giggle with Jesus and crying and hugging Jesus (like I would with a brother) my life is no longer my own, my body no longer my own, my will is now God's.. so does the Holy Spirit fill me or Jesus or God or all three?
Thank you

And Thank you for being so kind to me.
Jesus said, when you pray say... Our Father
Everything Jesus did pointed to the Father in Heaven, Hence... Our Father in Heaven.
The first and most important thing sister is to follow your heart, pray to God our Father, pray as you feel about the things on your heart, thank Jesus, thank the Holy Spirit, but most important pray 'In Jesus Name'.
Heavenly Father, we pray for our sear sister Josephine, help her not to worry how to pray but to pray to you through Jesus Christ our Lord, in Jesus Name. Father we are so grateful for your blessings, guidance and protect, we pray your Holy Spirit will guide us in all we do, including our prayers to you in Jesus Name. Amen
I don't tend to pray to the Holy Spirit, but I do thank God for the Holy Spirit.
We pray to the Father through Jesus, the Holy Spirit intercedes our prayers through Jesus to our Father in Heaven, the Holy Spirit carries our God's will in our lives and the prayers God has chosen to answer. Now no prayer returns void, but some prayers remain with God until hearts of those we are praying for are changed.
Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer as a guide, we don't have to pray it, we can allow the spirit to guide us in prayer, but I feel when we look at the components Jesus included, in so few verses, we should all come back to it and pray it.
Matthew 6:6-15 (NKJV)
Jesus said, but you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, [Jesus points us to the Father]
Hallowed be Your name. [We are to hallow His name, Holy is His Name]
Then the pattern changes from heaven to earth.
Your kingdom come. [We are to pray for The Kingdom of God to come to earth - Emmanuel God with us]
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. [We are to acknowledge God's will, will be done, on earth as it is in heaven]
That is one big WOW! Heaven on earth, God's will on earth as in Heaven. Heaven is Holy earth is full of sin!]
The pattern moves on again, next we pray for us.
Give us this day our daily bread. [Father, give us this day our daily bread]
What is our 'Daily Bread' it is The Word of God, but it is also the basic things we need to live the next 24 hours (Daily Bread)]
So we are to ask these things daily according to Jesus, by praying to Our Father in Heaven.
We now move to forgiveness, now we could say why is this not first, Jesus gets the order correct, look to God, in heaven, hallow His Name that is first.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. [We are to ask forgiveness of our sins but must forgive others also]
If we don't forgive others, God cannot forgive us.
Next we come to an unusual verse, an unusual request, would God lead us into temptation, He could, let us not forget (As RCC seems to) Jesus said to Peter, that satan as asked for you that he may sift you as wheat! Luke 22:31-32
And do not lead us into temptation, [We are to pray not to be lead into temptation, we have the blood of Christ, we have the whole armour of God available to us]
But deliver us from the evil one. [The devil has no rights over any saved soul, God will deliver us from the evil one, just ask in prayer]
Then comes the Glorification, thanking God for all these things and giving Him the Glory
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Some of our other brothers and sisters may want to share and help you in prayer.
Bless you.
