Sons of God are the Christians believers. As sons of God, they violated the law not to be unevenly yoked. The flood did not destroy being unevenly yoke it still applies today.
Up until the flood believers were used as part of the inspiration as indicated by the water coming up, they neglected, and the inspiration alone comes from above signified by a rainbow (clouds in the sky )
