Scriptures pastors never talk about.

Do you not think that the Holy Spirit can teach a man all he needs to know?
I never went to school.
I have done weddings and baptisms.
God gives me the message to preach, not by the calender, special events or any thing like that. God knows the heart of every person in the congregation, He knows what they need. The Holy Spirit preaches the message, I am just a tool He uses to speak through.

I am not against school if God leads someone in that direction. But don't short-change God by thinking if a man does not go to school he cannot do the job God has called him to do.
God equips those He calls.

What school or man can fill you with the Spirit?
What school or man can see the heart of the congregation and know what they need?
When the disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost and preached hundreds were saved.

Please don't take this wrong, I am not railing against school.
What I am saying is that if God calls a man to a job, He equips Him to do that job.
All that we need is in the Bible or is taught by the Spirit.
If it is man's idea or way of doing apart from that then I don't want it.

The people who teach at seminary or Bible school had to get their knowledge somewhere. If it is from man it is useless. If it is from God, I have access to the source myself. Whatever He taught them, He can teach me.

Now that is preaching Heaven can shout amen to!

Hallelujah, praise HIS glory!

If you are plugged in to the Holy Spirit then you have fellowship in the body because you are the body.

John 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

If you believe scripture then all believers live in the same place.
The kingdom of heaven is within you not off in the sky or trapped in a building made by human hands.
What if all humans died but one, wouldn't he(or she) still be the body?

A sheet can be sewn from a single thread and give the appearance of individual threads crossing each others paths but there is no time or space in spirit and if we are all "one" then let that one be the one whom God sent, the Lord Jesus Christ.

James 1:10 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

According to Jn.17:21 you are the place he went to prepare for you and he wants to reveal himself to the world through the "himself"in you that the world may believe that God sent Jesus.
I think that fellowship in the Holy Spirit speaks of far more than time and location of individuals talking about something off in the sky.

Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

And thats a sermon some pastors wont preach, but one I`ll gladly shout amen to!

1Jn 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you ....IF we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.

There you go, the only prerequisite for fellowship is WALK IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST.

When you are saved you become a member of the body of Christ which is the church. We need to fellowship with other christians, God set it up that way. If you are not hearing truth where you are, get out, go where truth is preached. If you have to, start a home church. I am a preacher, I am not a pastor, But I preach ONLY the Word of God. I have tried to model myself on Paul's statement "I know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified"

I agree that there are many who only preach feel good and prosperity but God has men out there who preach the hard hitting gospel.
There are congregations in my area that seem to me to be luke warm, I complained about it and pointed fingers for a long time. God has shown me that IF I am in "the church" I should have a burden and love for these people, stop running my mouth and seek to intercede for them with God. I conduct a small Bible study in my home and we are praying and seeking God to intervene in these churches.

If you see there is a problem, do something about it. Talking about it, judgeing and putting people down only plays into Satan's hand.
If you are a true born again child of God you have a duty and responsibility.
God has given you a charge to fight against these devices of Satan.....

Luke 10:19 - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Preach it brother. We have an army of folks who believe that their job is to point out the faults and weakness of others; just think if that energy was turned for the good.

Siminary is were you Go to get mans doctrines and approvel...yes ive met some good ministers from there but most ive met were very puffed up and arrogant.pride seems to be the course of choice .but that is my opinion and is in no way the absolute..Christ didnt go to Siminary but knew the Fathers will and sought it out..... I will say the saducees and pharasees had the siminary thing down pat though...clean white tombs full of dead mens bones........in love ...Rev

While there are undoubtedly many pastors who miss the mark of their calling as indicated in the OP, is it correct to lump them all together as if none were working to do it correctly? If the Holy Spirit is real, which I and others will testify to, then some apparently who are claiming that they have received the Holy Spirit are ignoring or rejecting or quenching too frequently. Having said that we must be cautious about pointing accusing fingers at any one specifically by name. Only God knows all of the hearts of all of those He has called as pastors. If we find ourselves sitting under a pastor who is missing the mark, what are our choices?

I took the OP to be referring to pastors in a general sense. I agree with you that not all pastors should be lumped together, for the reasons you stated. However, I have not yet found a church that preaches much more than a social, feel good, watered-down, don't offend anybody kind of message. I would love to find a church that preaches about holiness and seeking after righteousness and living for the Lord and dying to self and taking up your cross, and that fears God more than man. But as I see it we get pablum instead of meat for the most part. If your church isn't like that, all glory to God!

The concept of church as providing a spiritual service to man in conducting weddings and funerals is not in the Bible. Neither is the concept of a worship service or communion service biblical. This kind of service thinking originated in the early to middle ages from Roman Catholicism, when church and state was not well divided, when popes, cardinals, bishops, and priests held great power over people's lives and society. People's gifts and callings were severely restricted and the division between laity and clergy appeared. Church became more about man's control rather than freedom in Spirit. The idea of going to a place to receive a spiritual benefit/service is from paganism and Judaism.

You know I've been in a number of buddhist, or hindu temples and there is little difference between a Christian church and buddhist temple in its organisation and structure. A priest or two up the front saying some special things or messages.. hard wooden pews or chairs for people to sit on.. people going there to receive a spiritual service.. and paying some money or donation at the door. And buddhist conduct funeral and wedding services too. But Jesus Christ instructed His followers to worship Him in spirit and in truth, not in any particular place. Protestantism never fully revoked the customs of Roman Catholicism. No where in scripture do we see the apostles or Jesus Himself conducting a wedding or funeral service.

The biblical role of pastor is to shepherd and nourish the sheep in their own relationship with Christ, not to hand feed them from the pulpit, or preach a sermon to make the hearers feel good about themselves. A pastor doesn't need a preaching platform or even a church for that, just lead by example in their own life, nourish others in the Word of God and pray with them. In the Bible the elders appointed by the apostles were the overseers of the church not the pastors. Acts 14:23 "Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust." So when did the pastors overtake the running of the church and stop the function of elders, teachers, apostles, evangelists ?

There's nothing wrong with a bible college or seminary if it points towards a relationship with Christ and provides practical training in how to preach the gospel, how to get along with others etc, and doesn't just teach philosophy, paganism , buddhism or theology. I say paganism or buddhism because a Christian pastor in my local area denomination is also a member of a buddhist seminary...he preaches about Christ but not the Christ of the bible.. a universal cosmic new age Christ. And then there are some churches flying the rainbow coloured budhist flag.. and there is a gay and lesbian church not far from me where the pastor is a lesbian and God is called mother or father so as not to offend the homosexuals. lol. These pastors are all bible college or seminary trained, by the way :). But I am not generalizing here these are just some examples of why a pastoral degree or theological qualification can mean very little.

My church has no pastors and no wedding or funeral or baptism services and anyone can distribute bread and wine not specially trained priest or pastor, and it gets along just fine. Now in some denomination you need a 4 year theology degree before you can even dare to think about distributing bread and wine in church. And then if you spill the wine or drop the bread oh boy you're in big trouble God is going to strike you down for spilling some grape juice. Many are still bound by superstition and religion carried over from Catholicism. Even though God has gifted every member with certain gifts.. if the pastor did not show up for Sunday service in many churches I doubt that anyone would know what to do, they would just sit there and do nothing or get up and go home, or it would just degenerate into a social occasion. They probably couldn't have a service without the pastor, no one mature enough to take the lead and do something without the pastor's presence or approval.

But in my church when we come together we get right to it and start praying and worshipping God, no need to wait for a pastor to lead or tell us what to do. This is the difference between church as a place you go to provide you a spiritual service.. in this one you are waiting for the pastor or priest to give you some spiritual benefit or experience..waiting for someone to 'run the service'...and church as per the bible, where you meet with other Christians because you have a relationship with Christ and want to encourage each other in Christ. In the 'service style' model with clergy-laity separation, it is bondage .. this is the situation of spiritual Babylon with God's people in captivity... but in the biblical model of all brethren being equal and each member functioning , being overseen by group of elders.. is freedom and life in the Spirit... is God's people living in the New Jerusalem.

Now if you want to test this theory, next Sunday go to your pastor and tell him/her you have a message from God that you'd like to share for 15 minutes in the service after or before, or even instead of his sermon, and see if he lets you. If they do, great..things aren't so bad...but maybe a few in the congregation won't like it and tell you that only pastor should be giving messages from the front. If the pastor doesn't let you...or wishes to check or censor your message before you give it... my point is proven.. you have no freedom to do as the Spirit leads... it's Babylonian captivity. In my church, anyone and everyone can share in the meeting at any time, they can prophesy one by one.. and there's no pastor or priest to control the meeting,or to deliver a special sermon... the Holy Spirit is in control, not man. This is the difference.

T. S Perkins: Maybe there are some things that might help me and you who are in this thread. In reading the different post's there has been some very bad examples of some stuck up "better than everyone" know it all people you have dealt with that thought "seminary educated people were so above all the rest. I think that's it in a nut shell, right? A minister that is "puffed up" or "arrogrant, pride" is not following what Jesus said and taught what we are to be.

Maybe the seminaries I went were the exceptions and unlike most other seminaries. Doctrine is not man's it's the WORD's of GOD that is "Doctrine: that is pure and true". If those who had gone to seminary came out acting like "Saducees and Pharasees" that that is completely the very opposite that Jesus said we all are to be, and that's not just for ministers. The experience's I had in seminary were totally different, so not knowing about the all the rest of seminaries I can only address the ones I know of. I do know that when I hear the names of some seminaries I know they are liberal and seem to be proud of it. On the other side there are a few extreme fundamentalists that do believe unless you worship and believe exactly as they say you are going to hell. They also would say you must use only their version of the Bible that they have altered and added their special notes and repleced things to slant verses to their false doctrines. One such Bible would be the New World Translation.

If I am understanding you correctly seminaries such as I have been blessed to go are in the minority, which makes me sad to know. I did spend a lot of time making those choice's. The Holy Spirit has always been my convictor of sin, helper, guide, mentor, counselor, teacher, advisor, and beacon for my life. In thinking more about what the Holy Spirit is and how He manifests in our lives it's impossible to limit or list everything.

There are things that the Bible says that the culture and history behind the passage add to the richness and understanding bring much to the meaning. Understand how to work with root word's and their true meaning is important for indepth study. Please do not misunderstand me, there are good solid pastors and minister's that have no education but just reading the Scripture, do a pleasing job for the LORD. Those who have choosen just to follow God and study the Bible and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit are following the Lord. These Brother's and sister's shoule not look down on those who God lead in a different direction. In the same way those who have furthered their education have no right in making a judgement that they are so distinguished and elevated above everyone else. These are two examples that clearly show how both ways of reacting to the opposite way is not following the Lord.

There are places of ministry that God has created for everyone to serve Him. Before I had any education I preached in soup kitchens, nursing homes, half way houses and in Mexico, Bolivia. Little has changed in my desire to be available, except my health now limits me a lot.
There many ways God can use us if we will be prepared in His WORD, in our prayers, and the Holy Spirit leading us. More that anything we need to remember the True Church is composed of every genuine believer and follower of Jesus Christ. These petty things now while on earth will someday be forgotten, and we will be gathered together with our single purpose is to Glorify the LORD. Amen?

The reason you have not found one is, I believe, that they are indeed very few in number... but they do exist. If we are being led by the Holy Ghost rather than stepping out along a pathway of our own choice, we will come to a place where God wants us to be. We don't find a man of God by searching the streets of a city, but by opening our hearts to God's Spirit and His Word. I used to search the yellow pages and visit dozens of assemblies looking for something better. Finally, I was led by the Spirit to something better, but it was not as a direct result of any of my searches or visits.
"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44
God via the Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus. The thing to remember is that your priority is never to hunt until you find the supposedly correct physical meeting place of God's people. Rather...
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

For those of us who have attended several different Bible schools, you may be right.
While that doesn't make me any better or more righteous in God's eyes. I do think God does call some of us to be preachers and teachers.
I have had the advantage (or disadvantage depending on your point of view) to go to three different Bible colleges, all decidedly very different.
I have attended a very Calvinistic school, a very Pentecostal school, and a very evangelical school. Now while they all had very different emphasis's on what was
important to their theology or doctrine, I can honestly say, NOT ONE of them said their way was the ONLY way, or they were the ONLY denomination that was 100% right.
They all believed the same core doctrines (or creeds as some might say) and all the rest was just what defined denominations. The Pentecostal church I attended for many years
considered the Baptists just as saved as they were. The Baptist church I attended for many years considered the Evangelicals just as saved as they were. The Presbyterian
church I attended for a while considered the Pentecostals just as saved as they were. None of the churches or Bible schools I attended felt like they had a monopoly on
the truth, the Bible, or being "God's chosen people".

Thank you. I certainly don't want to be one track minded about it ("I must find a church"...... "where is that church I'm looking for?".... "I'll find one if it's the last thing I do") to the point that the big picture gets blurred, which is seeking God first, not church or anything else.

In God's eyes the church is all believers within your city or village or town, wherever you live. If you meet with any believers , you have found the church, and you are already in the church, no matter where you are.

I believe there is a misunderstanding of 1 Cor 6:9,10 Are we saying that even after we accept the Lord as our savior that we could be in jeopardy of going to hell? I disagree. We must look further down at 2 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God.
And in Rev 21:27 it says towards the end that the ones who will enter into heaven are written in the lambs book of life . We all have to be in agreement- well maybe we dont which is why this is a forum for discussion, friendly discussion hopefully, that once we have accepted the truth that jesus Christ bore our sins on the cross , past present and future, and rose on the third day. After he descended and went into the pits of hell to take the keys from Satan- he bore all our sins on that old tree- there is no doubt that we will be with Jesus for eternity.

We confessed this with our mouths and this is where it is especially important - we believed it in our hearts- confession- mere words alone wont work we have to believe from the heart that Jesus paid the price for our sins at calvary.
Paul was not saying that those who have committed one of these acts are doomed to hell . There is forgiveness through faith in Christ (1 Cor 6:11) that makes people totally new creatures. 2 Cor 5:17. Those who experience the new birth are no longer sinners even though they sin.

As far as pastors teaching on this verse I am in agreement I have not heard many. But I must say if they approach this verse under that theology and teach that one may or can lose there salvation than I would be in disagreement with the Pastor on this one.

By the way hello. I am new to this forum and website and I look forward to many posts and further enlightnment thru these forums.
God bless you all.

I believe there is a misunderstanding of 1 Cor 6:9, 10 Are we saying that even after we accept the Lord as our savior that we could be in jeopardy of going to hell? I disagree. We must look further down at 2 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God.

The key here is... such WERE some of you, not such ARE some of you. Sanctification comes from repentance.

Paul was not saying that those who have committed one of these acts are doomed to hell . There is forgiveness through faith in Christ (1 Cor 6:11) that makes people totally new creatures. 2 Cor 5:17. Those who experience the new birth are no longer sinners even though they sin

Amen!!! But there are certain sins we commit that don't control us. They aren't a lifestyle. We shouldn't do them, but sometimes they slip out. A curse word in the heat of the moment. A sarcastic word in frustration. It happens. There are other sins like those you mentioned in 1 Cor above. Fornication, adultery, homosexuality, etc... these usually aren't something you do once and never again. Generally if you are having sex out of wedlock, it's more than once. Most translations of the Bible say if you "practice" these things as opposed to "if you ever committed this". But yes, there is grace and there is forgiveness, thank God for that.

There are couple of things that are debated lots in the churches and religions !
One is or does Eternal life really mean eternal life or not ?

another is ? does our weak flesh body get eternal life ?

But as far as Eternal life goes it simple ! He did it All , we do nothing but accept what He already did ! but , the truth is ? we Must be born -again 1 A new spirit ! the New spirit cannot sin , So how could we lose salvation !

As far as the flesh goes ? If it had saklvation ? It could not die 1 but we all see it does die 1

The wages of Sin has not changed , that why our flesh dies ! Had He died for it ? It would live forever more ! but it dies !

The Bibles very clear on this ! There is nothing good in it ! But many love there old weak sinfilled dying flesh ! Personally i do not like mine much and it better than mosts !

This scripture is 100% truth and God has Not changed it at all !

Gen_3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

This is also is 100% truth and it not been changed either !

1Pe_1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

1Pe_4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Rom_5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Rom_5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Rom_5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Eph_2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
So Many preach Works ! Because they want Money and workers ! Maybe Some do not know any better ? I hope that the case ?

There are couple of things that are debated lots in the churches and religions !
One is or does Eternal life really mean eternal life or not ?
Whatever it means it is what Jesus promised
"That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:15
Again, no matter what it is, if we love God, do we not want whatever He wants to give us?

spirit1st: another is ? does our weak flesh body get eternal life ?
Is this important to pleasing God or to pleasing our own selfish interest?

spirit1st: But as far as Eternal life goes it simple ! He did it All , we do nothing but accept what He already did ! but , the truth is ? we Must be born -again 1 A new spirit ! the New spirit cannot sin , So how could we lose salvation !
If a new spirit cannot sin then how did Adam and Eve who certainly had "new" spirits sin?

Then the Question becomes ? how important is the Truth in god Eyes ?

very important ! The truth sets us free ! how can we live in the truth ,if we do not know it ?

Joh_8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Joh_4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Joh_14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Joh_16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Eph_6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth

Joh_8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

We cannot do His works , unless we know the Truth !

Mat_10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
How can WE DO these things without knowing How !

1Jn_2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

The Holy Ghost waits to teach us or tell us anything we want or need to know !
He is the power of GOD ! who Jesus used and God used to create All things ever created and He dwells in Us Forever more !

He Helped me lots in every way 1 Spiritual understanding and things i needed to know while on earth in the flesh !

I made a test once ? I went to jobs and got along wponderful ! then I started talking about Jesus ! Many got upset and started finding fault with me !
I would go to my van and pray ! asking the Holy Ghost , to cause those people to have the same grace in there eyes they had at the beginning ! Every time it turned out perfectly ! I also asked Him to make it turn out perfectly to get my money also 1

Many times too many to list He has helped me in life !

Listen ? there is nothing He will not help us with in Life or the heavenly ! He wants us to know Everything ! Of course we cannot recieve it all at first ! It takes time to grow in the correct understanding of all things ? We might never be able to know it all here ?

But we can know the New testament !

Joh_16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

1Co_2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Co_2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2Th_2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
1Pe_1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
2Jn_1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

This is What WE DO NOT WANT TO DO !

2Co_10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

None of Us are More or Less in His true unseen church and body !
Such a bad thing for us to look down on our brothers and sisters ! We should pray for them , lift them up , help them , that LOVE!

Adam and Eve were Not Born of God seed ! We are at salvation ! That why the Holy Ghost can dwell in our heart [Spirit]

We are born of a Perfect seed , Just like our Lord JESUS ! It cANNOT be corrupted ! Only Sin corrupts !

1Pe_1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

That GOD perfect seed!

Joh_7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

They as well as the angels could sin ! We cannot ! We must understand the we is Only our new Creature ! Our flesh is Not New ,nor will it ever be !
It doomed to return to the dust of the Earth , where it came from and belongs to !

I know Mans understanding Cannot reveal these trues !

1Jn_3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Nothing we see on this planet reveals What we will look like 1 Because there is Nothing hee that looks like We will LOOK !

this is how we will look !
Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Dan 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
That is Our LORD JESUS !

God made Us after Salvation ! His Kings and Lords and Members of His family and Household and rulers under HIM !

Heb_2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
The Angels Will Not be Higher than Us ! Only our LORD will be higher !
Because ? We are made in our inward man , Just like HIM !

I wondered a Lot , How the angels feel about God making us such High beings in His Kingdom ?

Adam and Eve were Not Born of God seed !
They were not? Then how do you explain this?
"Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God." Luke 3:38
spirit1st: We are at salvation ! That why the Holy Ghost can dwell in our heart [Spirit]

We are born of a Perfect seed , Just like our Lord JESUS ! It cANNOT be corrupted ! Only Sin corrupts !
Take it back to the first man Adam again, my friend. He was born of God, as Jesus was born of God, as those who now born again are born of God. Are you throwing out scripture to confirm your viewpoint rather than asking, seeking and knocking?

Consider for example James who was speaking not to unbelievers, but to believers when he said,
"Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be." James 3:10

They ought not to be, but they are. The old man is still alive until he is finally and completely killed by the Holy Ghost within us . That old man will not be killed if the Spirit of God is quenched (see I Thess 5:19)

1Jn_3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And if we think we can wait until the dirt is thrown over our faces before having our filth cleansed, we will never see what He looks like. Paul was seeing through a glass darkly as are we, but the face-to-face will occur when the work is done in us as it was done in Jesus. The difference between us and Jesus is that we have filth that needs to be cleaned out and replaced by the good things of God. Jesus started out clean and stayed that way. The worker in us, if there is a worker, is the Holy Ghost. When we are quenching the Spirit, no work is getting done. We keep wallowing in our own vomit and other filth. We also keep on adding to the mess instead consuming the Word so it can be quickened by the Spirit.

Instead of looking at verses providing a small glimpse of the glory, we all might be well advised to keep on searching for what God has for us now to prepare us so that we do not enter the wedding feast wearing improper garments and end up on the outside with nothing at all..

spirit1st: I wondered a Lot , How the angels feel about God making us such High beings in His Kingdom ?
Or should we be concerned with letting ourselves get swelled up with out own importance?
"But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Luke 14:10-11
