Scriptures pastors never talk about.

A true minister has to learn how to feed people with Christ not merely doctrine , Jesus, Paul, were feeders, they fed people. Feeding gives life but only teaching doctrine and right from wrong brings death.

A true minister has to learn how to feed people with Christ not merely doctrine , Jesus, Paul, were feeders, they fed people. Feeding gives life but only teaching doctrine and right from wrong brings death.

Here is a good example.
12 Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.13 And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.
Gal 6:12-13 (NLT)

19 Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.20 I wish I were with you right now so I could change my tone. But at this distance I don’t know how else to help you.
Gal 4:19-20 (NLT)

There are only two things a person can feed others with - fruit from the tree of life.. or fruit from the tree of knowledge. The far majority of preachers, and Christians in general feed knowledge not life. In other words.. feeding people things other than Christ. Ministering to their psychology (mind and emotions) rather than their spirit. When there is a sermon about how to be a better person, or how to obtain financial blessing.., or theology or philosophy, any of the 'how to' teachings. Feeding emotions using music, moving stories, or humour and comedy, or providing social experiences, instead of Christ. Whatever things appeal to people's psyche. Instead they should be teaching "who to" not "how to". When we feed someone else our opinion, advice, knowledge, experience, doctrine, theology, philosophy..(and we all do it) this comes from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, right from wrong, good or bad. We should be feeding Christ, because only Christ is life. Only Christ is the true heavenly minister and only He can minister the life that we need to deal with whatever situation we are facing.. whether we have problem with sin, or attitude, or behavior, or loneliness, or illness, or are too weak.. the only thing which can overcome death is life.

God's first and second ever command to man was not any of the 10 commandments, nor to love God or love neighbour as ourselves. The first two commands were about eating:
"Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
"Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

The job of a minister of Christ is to minister spiritual food to people:
1Co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1Pe 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Feeding is so important that Christ told Peter three times to feed others :
Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Joh 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

The spiritual food that preachers must minister to people is not doctrine alone, but Christ, because Christ is the only real spiritual food from heaven:

Joh 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Joh 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Joh 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Joh 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Jer 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

The most important thing for a believer, whether newly saved or saved 80 years is to eat properly. If we don't eat Christ we don't have life in ourselves. This is more important than knowing the right doctrine, teaching, accountability and mentoring. No pastor, and not even God Himself can make a person eat. Eating is something we have to do ourselves. But we need to discern between ministers of Christ and life, and ministers of knowledge and death. Most theological colleges, seminaries and bible colleges do not teach students how to feed others with Christ, but only how to feed knowledge, theology, philosophy. This is evident by the lack of feeding from the pulpit. If there is no nourishment from the Word of God, there is no spiritual growth, believers remain infants in Christ. There are aged Christians in churches been saved for decades who are still at the level of an infant in Christ because they have either never eaten properly or never been fed properly from the pulpit:

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

We need to Read the Bible , to feed our Spirit ! It will accept only truth ! our flesh mind can be confused !

Mat_4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Heb_5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
1Pe_2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

It Who we are following that reveals the Truth we have ? If we follow mankind ? we will have many scriptures misunderstood ! It we are being taught by the Holy Ghost ? We will be much closer to living in full truth ?

1Jn_2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The trouble is ? many follow Pastors or teachers or Religions or other books !

listen i too did this once ! God rebuked me for Not following HIM ! I was following a Pastor ! Now i know better !
I still honor the pastors !

1Co_2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Co_2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co_2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

I think many Pastors and teachers think they are doing good ? Just have accepted others peoples teachings as Truth !
But of course , sure there are some who know the truth , but refuse to teach it ! thinking they will lose something ?

Listen , many churches would have less people in them , and maybe less money ? The price of preachibng truth , could make things much harder on many ?

not really sure ? But the church at it beginning went though lots of problems , Yet Many miracles and people accepted the LORD and walked in His power ! giving All they had ! Like to see it like that again !

A true minister has to learn how to feed people with Christ not merely doctrine , Jesus, Paul, were feeders, they fed people. Feeding gives life but only teaching doctrine and right from wrong brings death.

thatnk you brother. that is true. however most are not learning because they are to busy trying to learn everything from man and nothing from the lord. most churches and church leaders believe in the true power and miracles of our lord. this is why we do not see the miracles, it is not because our lord has changed anything. rather it is because the people have changed christianity to suit the world rather than the world conforming to christianity.

Not sure if they do not understand , we are All spirit beings first !

Listen we need to be walking and living though our Spirit first ! Then we see the signs and wonders and have the relationship with our Lord Jesus we really need to serve him more perfectly !
If we do not understand our Beginning in the LORd ? How cwill we be able to teach , what he wants from us or how we can Hear him perfectly and Do the works He wants us too ?

Listen many just might not know the know to teach ?

Mat_9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Mar_2:19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Mar_2:20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
Luk_5:34 And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
Luk_5:35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

first we Must be born -again 1 then We fast to break every yoke anything that keeps us from hearing Him perfectly !

It very simple !

Isa_58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.

It about Us hearing Him perfectly !

plus we need to be taught by the Spirit of truth !

RFollowing mankind and His understanding ,Not going to make us Able to serve Him perfectly !

2Co_13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

1Co_2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

I find it funny how pastors stay away from certain scriptures in the Bible. One example of these scripture is 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, which gives harsh warning to people that will not see the kingdom of God for comitting certain sins such as adaltury, fornication, drunkinness, homosexuality and others. The main thing about this set of verses is that they are written to the church of believers. Since this is the case it throws down many of the teachings in our churches today. Like the once saved always saved all past present and future sins are forgiven you so you do not need to check yourself or your heart with the word of God. Live like the devil and go to heaven because ou said a prayer one time in your life.

With over 300,000 congregations in the USA alone, that seems to be a mighty broad statement. Perhaps it comes from limited personal experience, going to a dead church, or just a preconceived or prejudice.

Yes I hear Westboro Baptist, for example, are quite thorough in their stand against sin :bot:

oh, i wish that were true. however. i have spent a lot of time traveling and have visited many churchesalong the way and know what is real with "church" today. i just think it is sad that christ has been minimized to brick and mortar.

Stereotyping congregations because the use a building still seems a little presumptive I you visited 1,000 churches (which I doubt) you would still have not scratched the surface.. There are still places where the fire of God is moving amongst His people; the rest need prayer more than condemnation.

well you are entitled to your opinion. but if you do not think that christ is sufficient for what is needed then i wonder where your heart truly lies.

I take it ushalk that you think that all we need is Christ and that teachers, pastors, apostles, prophets, deacons and bishops, (all mentioned as necessary, even gifts, by the scriptures to the growth of the church) are superfluous to requirements? Thus would you also say that because Christ is all that is neccesary, was the apostle Paul therefore not needed? That the church didn't need James, or John, or Luke, or Mark, or Batholemew, or Peter even? Jesus even gave Pater the instruction to feed the sheep! Is Ushalk saying that Peter wasn't needed? If the early church which was full of people who lwere actual contempories of Christ, many of whom walked with Him and heard Him in person; if these same people needed to be fed by pastors and taught by teachers and exhorted by prophets and encoiuraged and corrected by apostles and ministered to by deacons and led by bishops how on earth do you get along in this day and age without them?!!!!

Even Jesus used apostles. Even God used prophets. God used some men that were neither ( Mark and Luke ) to write his words.
Were would the churches of Ephesus, Corinth, Galatia, Colossae, and Phillipi be without a man to lead them along?

If you aren't in a church of some sort, you aren't really connected to the body of Christ.

That is so true my brother. If we do not need these offices then why did God specifically give them to the church? Perhaps He made a mistake and modern theologians can correct Him- LOL...

Rom_10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom_10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

It a tough job being a good preacher ! Great tempations in many areas ! I doubt i ncould do that job ? I admire tham if they can Stand Faithful too there families and work !
I Gladly would go Out of My way to bless and help the Good ones !

Back to the beginning of this thread, while I disagree that "no" churches preach these things, I do agree that "some" churches don't preach these things.

Gal 5:19; Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
Gal 5:20; idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
Gal 5:21; envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Cor 6:9; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1 Cor 6:10; nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Matt 25:41; "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
Matt 25:44; "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'
Matt 25:45; "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
Matt 25:46; "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Matt 3:10; "The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Heb 10:26; For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27; but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.
Heb 10:30; For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY." And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE."
Heb 10:31; It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Heb 12:4 You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;
Heb 12:5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;
Heb 12:6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."
Heb 12:7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Heb 12:8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
Heb 12:9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.
Heb 12:11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
Heb 12:12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,
Heb 12:13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.
Heb 12:14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.
Heb 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

Matt 7:22; "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Matt 7:23; "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

Matt 13:41; "The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,

Matt 23:28; "So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Rom 1:21; For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22; Professing to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23; and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Rom 1:24; Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
Rom 1:25; For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26; For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Rom 1:27; and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Rom 1:28; And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
Rom 1:29; being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
Rom 1:30; slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31; without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
Rom 1:32; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Rom 2:12; When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God's written law. And the Jews, who do have God's law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it.
Rom 2:13; For merely listening to the law doesn't make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in His sight.
(GW) Rom 2:12; Here's the reason: Whoever sins without having laws from God will still be condemned to destruction. And whoever has laws from God and sins will still be judged by them.

1 Tim 1:8; But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully,
1 Tim 1:9; realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers
1 Tim 1:10; and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

I think ushalk was saying we don't need statements of faith.. constitutions.. etc.. Christ is enough. These things can usually do more harm than good. How do we feel when we read a statement of faith that is not the same as we believe? We feel isolated and that we don't belong to that church. Statements of faith based on the essentials is fine, but sometimes non-essentials creep into the statement of faith. Even a statement that goes " we are a vibrant, social, energetic church.. " etc can be divisive, because those of us with melancholy personalities can feel that we don't belong. The principle of scripture is that church accepts all and anyone who believes in Christ.. that is enough , that's really all that should be in a 'statement of faith'. "We believe in Christ the Son of God as our Lord and Saviour", anything extra is non-essential? It tends to make walls of separation by stating how water baptism should be done, whether we believe in spiritual gifts or not.. whether we believe in Sabbath Saturday or not..etc

Back to the beginning of this thread, while I disagree that "no" churches preach these things, I do agree that "some" churches don't preach these things.

Some churches are not churches at all. Some are religious groups of the spiritual dead, some are country clubs; but this is no license to badmouth the whole body of Christ because someone else meets in a home instead of a building. That is the root "religious spirit" behind this and many of the threads here.

To see the church, and the difference between the 4 walls and the church is not something we can do ourselves or learn ourselves. We need to turn to the Lord and ask Him to show us the genuine church, open our eyes so we can see and ears so that we can hear. We cannot explain to others what is the church, they have to see it for themself. God needs to give them such a vision that they will not turn back to the religion ever again. We all need our 'road on Damascus' experience like Saul/Paul had to bring him out of religious bondage. Whenever the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. The veil is our own religious concepts, culture or tradition. (2 Cor 3:14-16). Religion in the negative sense, is the good part of the self which tries to please God by self-effort, self-justification or self-approval etc. Even after being saved many years we can still have this religious self. Some think it's an actual demon, a religious demon.. but there is really no such thing. Jesus never said the Pharisees had a demon.. he pointed the blame at themselves.. they were the ones at fault, it was their self that was the problem. We cannot cast out religion from ourself, as if it's a demon, the only way is self denial.. admit we don't have the answers, that we are blind and naked before God.. that only He can show us the truth. I believe a person who is caught up in religion , has not truly emptied themselves before the Lord.. parts of their life they have yielded perhaps, but not allowed the Lord to touch their own concepts of what is church etc. We believe that Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.. but we tend to leave that personal relationship at the door of the church on a Sunday, and then it becomes religious tradition, formulaic prayers, worldly chatter, etc. But that is all church is really, is a personal relationship with Christ in a corporate way.. meeting with other believers and sharing Christ with each other.. Christianity is a personal relationship with Christ, but it's also a personal relationship with Christ through other members of the body.. both are just as important.. so we cannot escape the fact that we are parts of a Body.. and if we forget about it or walk away from the church.. the Holy Spirit will bring us back.. the Spirit wants to fellowship, even if we don't.. that is why many who leave churches tend to seek fellowship in other ways e.g. on the internet.

Gen 2:18; Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him."
Obviously this is talking about a wife, but I think it applies to our Christian walk as well.

Ecc 4:9; Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.
Ecc 4:10; For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.
Ecc 4:11; Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone?
Ecc 4:12; And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.

Matt 18:20; "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."

Gal 6:2; Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

John 15:17; "This I command you, that you love one another.

Heb 10:25; not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

2 Pet 1:20; But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,

Jas 5:16; Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Rom 12:4; For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,

1 Cor 12:12; For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
1 Cor 12:14; For the body is not one member, but many.

It is hard to love one another, pray for one another, lift up one another, confess our sins with one another if we are alone. It is hard to exhort and lift up one another if we are alone.
