Why people believe they love ones, looking down on them smiling

Luke wasn't an Apostle. Not even a disciple. He never met Jesus. He never walked with Jesus. He wasn't present at the crucifixion.

Now take the narrative from Matthew, an apostle who did know Jesus, who did walk with Jesus:

Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, ... The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.- Matthew 27:38-39, 44 KJV

The λῃστης mocked Jesus, plural, BOTH of them. Period.

But you're quite right. I didn't mean to imply that this was a parable of Jesus. It was a Spiritual Lesson presented by Luke. And it's also likely that the parable of the dead beggar and rich man was also not a parable of Jesus, but a Spiritual Lesson presented by Luke. BOTH of these stories have no second witness, and both of these stories use odd vocabulary not commonly found in the New Testament texts.
Luke moved by Christ was sent as a disciple with prophecy called an apostle just like any apostle to include today

Abel the second born being the first recorded martyr.

We are to compare the words of Christ to Christ. Not the words of Christ to the apostles. How beautiful are there feet shod with the gospel of Christ.

Just to add to 2 Cor 5 that @Curtis gave you, we also have:

1. Rev 6:9-11 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

The altar mentioned in verse 9 is in heaven. Here is a link explaining this - The Altar in Revelation (see paragraph 4).

2. Phil 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

This passage is crystal clear that as a Christian you have a resident passport to heaven. When you die, you can use that passport.

3. Phil 1:23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;

Paul could not be clearer. He only sees A. Serving on earth or B. Being with Jesus in heaven. He does not see and mention a C. Sleeping in a coffin.

----------------------

Then, we can also just use common sense. God of the universe died for you, why would He wait to see you?

----------------------

We do have a controversial set of passages about the 'dead in Christ' and 'many in the grave'. But I feel these deserve to be properly discussed in their own thread. A thorough bible study is required to grasp their correct context. Some, like our resident annihilationists would rather cherry pick these verses and teach the lost that God is not eager to see you, ignoring all conflicting scripture. This link is a good read on 1 Thess 4:16 - Who are the dead in Christ in 1 Thessalonians 4:16? | GotQuestions.org.

The bible defines the word "dead" as corrupting dying. Death never to rise. . The one appointment all will make right on time.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

There will be no raising of dead bones to be judged twice. Dead bodies like that of Pope Formoso the Cadaver trial returns to dust the temporal spirit of life returns to God who gave it temporally.

The Cadaver Synod (also called the Cadaver Trial; Latin: Synodus Horrenda) is the name commonly given to the ecclesiastical trial of Pope Formosus, who had been dead for about seven months, in the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome during January 897.<a The trial was conducted by Pope Stephen VI, the successor to Formosus's successor,

The word dead is one of the most misunderstood words. "Jesus wept" at mankind's inability to rightly divide or understand the parables which without Christ spoke not

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10;For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Not literally dead but hell a living suffering, The Holy Father striking the Son bruising his heel crushing the head of Satan the father of lies.

To be raised from the dead (corruption) takes a tomb above ground. breathable. Not a grave non breathable the worm's habitat

Mark 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The Father working in the Son of man kept the body of Jesus the son of man from corrupting to the point of no return. Three days for Jesus four days for Lazarus.

Three denoting the end of a matter in that parable. Four represents the time of trial or suffering.

At the end of three days the work of the Dynasonic dual ended finishings the work the Holy Father. . he removed the grave clothes and rolled back the stone. Fulfilling the prophecy of two working empowered by one the bruised heel. By his wounds we are heeled .

A living sacrifice not a dead lifeless body

With Lazarus the Holy Father after kept his body from corrupting to the point of no return. The Father moved the other disciples to remove the grave clothes and roll back the stone

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (suffering); neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The OT does not say one thing to Jews, and another thing to Christians. Or do you believe that scripture can be broken?

The OT says what it says, and @BroTan quoted what it says.

You (I am shocked to find out) dismiss the OT in favor of some Roman Catholic Mythology of dead people being alive somewhere. Have I misunderstood?

Jews don't believe in the divinity of Jesus.
There's ONLY one way through/by Jesus therefore not Christian.
Jews only believe in and use the Talmud.
If you knew what Jews thought of non-Jews you'd never take up for them. They are a cursed people.

The Son of man Jesus is not divine invisible God. Called the Christ the teaching master. His power worked in the Son of man Jesus He is our brother in the lord the first born of many sons of God .

True Jews are the believers whose praise is not of dying men, but of eternal invisible God.

Romans 2:27-29;For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:;But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter;(death) whose praise is not of men, but of God.

God is not a racist like Jonah that wanted to die rather than see another race receive the gospel of grace

Chosen people to be used in parables not chosen race .

Ahem:
Jesus was a ******* conceived when an evil spirit slept with Mary (Kallah 1b, 18b)

Jesus was a fool who practiced and Egyptian magic (Sanhedrin 67a)

Jesus died like a dog and is in Hell buried in feces (Zohar, III p.282)

Quick note that Ben Shapiro, known loud mouth Jew, has stated he does NOT believe Jesus is divine only a normal human who "got killed for speaking things people didn't like".

"The OT does not say one thing to Jews, and another thing to Christians." - I never stated that in any way so where did you get that from? Seems to be your "own understanding".

Jerusalem Post - Baby Contracts Herpatic Encephalitis from Rabbi who sucked Blood from ***** during Cirumcision.

Judas Iscariot fought in the air with Jesus and pissed on Him (Toldoth Jeschu)

All non-Jew children are animals. (Yebamoth 98a)

Non Jews are not human. (Baba Mezla 114b)

A Jew may violate but not marry a non Jew girl. (Gad Shas 2:2)

A Jew may have sex with a child as long as it's less than 9 years old. (Sanhedrin 54b)

I could go on but these are more than enough to show what Jews really are.

Jews only believe in and use the Talmud.
Well that just proves you don't know any Jews.

No, I saw that your posts were ignoring (if not rejecting) the Scriptures that @BroTan posted... AS IF the OT scriptures said one thing to Jews and another thing to Christians. The point was deal with what is written (and you're not).

So the Talmud means that you can dismiss the Torah and the Prophets? Again, why are ignoring the scriptures that @BroTan posted?

If you knew what Jews thought of non-Jews you'd never take up for them.

While I truly appreciate the sentiment, it's quite easy for people to spiritualize this verse away, since the hour "now is."

Now doesn't mean more than two thousand years in the future.

The missing verses (26 & 27) can at least provide some separation between the spiritually dead in verse 25 and the rest of all dead-dead people in 28 and 29.

Peace,
Rhema
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
- John 5:25-29 KJV
I see what you saying, so I would use verse 24 in John 5: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

But the whole point is to let people know that no one is in Heaven, where the Father and Jesus is, we all have to wait until that hour.

Let's move on to the Psalm and get some understanding, some spiritual food, because some people are walking spiritually dead.

Let's start in Psalm 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. 51 The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law.

Notice it said, for thy word quickened me. Here it is again.

Psalm 119:92 Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. 93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. 94 I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.

What quickened him, the Law! The Lord tells you again.

John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Notice what it says,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Notice what John says here.

I John 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

How do you love the brethren?

I John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Plain and simple. Now that we know if you don't walk in the spirit of God (which is His Word) you can be alive physically, but spiritually dead. We know that once you are physically dead you will remain in the grave until the resurrection.

I see what you saying, so I would use verse 24 in John 5: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
And I have no problem with looking at this verse as a reference to the spiritually dead.

But the whole point is to let people know that no one is in Heaven, where the Father and Jesus is, we all have to wait until that hour.
You bet, however...

No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
- Luke 5:39 KJV

Most people have dug their heels into the beliefs of their traditions.

1. I haven't quote you.
2. I'm ecstatic I don't know or associate with Jews considering what they think of me.
3. They DO only use a small portion of the Bible.
4. They decided to cherry pick and make their own "book".
Again, Jews are NOT Christian. They are a cursed people by their own ancestors.

You right, but I learn that, that the truth still have to be put on the table for these people, and this is why in Revelation 20: 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Let's dig in some more on spiritual resurrection, because Jesus said in John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Now Paul says in Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Look at verse 13, For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Notice it said mortify the "Deeds of the body through the spirit.” What does mortify mean? It means “subdue by abstinence.” In other words bring this sinful body under control and walk in the Lord's spirit which is his word. Look at 23, And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. What do “redemption of are vile bodies” mean? Take a look at this.

Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

And when will this take place?

I Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

At the last trump, and not a moment before.

Well then isn't it wonderful that you can pray for your enemy and Jesus can lift the curse of them as he lifted the curse off you. (If indeed he has done so.) Don't you believe this?

2. They openly state what they think of non-Jews and most of it's from the Talmud. I've given parts of it.
Jesus will when it's time and no person has ever known or will IF He will.
God hates.
Jesus hates.
We should hate what they hate. We are still human and to deny any emotion is unhealthy.
I don't know any personally to hate and I'm not going to "What if".
I'm going off what they belive and say anot ONE has denied it.

There is no defense against sola scriptura. The flaming sword of the Spirit of Christ

One Holy Father. No man can serve two infallible teaching masters. Sola scriptura and the oral traditions of dying mankind

If we put the truth (sola scriptura) on the table, then removing the Revelation chapter the last chapter of the Bible violates the warning not to add or subtract from the perfect sealed with 7 seals till the end of time under the Sun.

A similar warning not to add or subtract in respect to one word is given in Deuteronomy 4:2, together they protect the "Let there be" faithful power of Christ the author and perfecter.

Revelation22:18;For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.;He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. .....(oral tradition of the dying fathers whose goal is to make sola scriptura without effect

Today according to the same spirit of error the Pharisees and or with of the Sadducees. The Roman Catholic and or with Greek Orthodox. They put aside their differences to attack sola scriptura.

Roman Catholic approve of the last chapter Revelation the Greek Orthodox denies it. . denying the coming resurrection of the last day and denying a new body no longer male nor female Jew nor Gentile. They say it has occurred trusting in "reincarnation"

Jesus used a parable the signified or hidden as an outward sign to help the Roman Catholic and or with the Greek Orthodox . Using a coin with the image of dying man on one side (Roman Catholic with Greek Orthodox) and the hidden side invisible God

Mathew 22:20;And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God (not seen) the things that are God's. ;But when the Pharisees (Roman Catholics )had heard that he had put the Sadducees (Greek Orthodox) to silence, they were gathered together.

2 Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith (Christ's) of some.

In that way both follow after mythology. Greek philosophy for the Sadducees or Greek Orthodox with the Roman mythology Roman Catholic.

Same names different language, both used to usurp the priesthood.

Exodus 7: 1:2 And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.;Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

Acts 14: 11-12 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; (the father of all gods) and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.(Preacher) preaching the gospel word given from the Holy Father.

Roman Catholic with Greek Orthodox the counterfeit gospel .

We are still human and to deny any emotion is unhealthy.
It's unhealthy to deny Envy? Strife? Malice? Greed? Pride? Jealousy?

I rather think you should put more time into thinking about what you post.

Kindly,
Rhema
