Living and Dying... in sin

I believe God and I believe this 1 Corinthians 13: 9-10
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

I am sure you will disagree but, this is talking about our physical death and proves we are not perfect and that we are only glorified and made perfect in the spirit world after our deaths
  • Know in part and prophesy in part...not perfect yet
  • When completeness comes what in part disappears. ....perfection comes and imperfection disappears once we enter God's spiritual realm.
I do disagree with the physical death necessarily being equal to the "completeness" because Jesus overcame the world before He went to the cross. He also was no longer IN the world before He went to the cross:

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." John 17:11

No that is not true.
Gradual Growth is of God.
This instant method you claim ,was a sinner and now I am perfected and there is no sin in me is not right.
Don't you believe 1 John 3:9?

God did not remove you and your ways, that is something you must do and it's a life long event.
1corinthians13:9
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
You deny the facts of repentance and rebirth.
I "turned from" my old ways, and was reborn of incorruptible, Godly seed that cannot bring forth evil fruit.
Thanks be to God.

Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!
So what?
If you are going to wait till you know "everything" to be "perfect" in Christ, it will never happen.
Of course some will use that POV to continue offending God while claiming a clean conscience.
Is that your goal?

So if WE ONLY KNOW IN PART then there are things we don't get know. Those things we don't get know are as holes in our doctrine or MISSING UNDERSTANDING - KNOWLEDGE.
Can't you abstain from murder and theft with the "limited" knowledge you have already?
God won't hide things from you that will cause you to continue in sin.

As we grow we become more like Christ Jesus and this means we become into a more Holy State and More Righteous State.
So if we become more like Christ then that light will SHOW UP THINGS ABOUT YOU that need to change - other wise you won't be able to walk in this new light.
How do you suppose a man who is only a little like Christ will act?
Sinfully?

Those things exposed by this new light in you will now become sin in you. Anything the Light exposes that needs to be changed - if left unchanged becomes disobedience which is also sin.
My initial repentance was from ALL sin.
I don't go around continuing in sin till I receive some revelation from God that it is evil.
That wouldn't be a God of love.

Do you think you have So much Christ in you that you have nothing to change?
Please stop tearing down brothers who are striving to grow in Christ and become more and more perfected in Christ - that is not pulling them out of fire.
Blessings to you
Much to your consternation, I suppose, I have all of Christ in me and nobody else.
Thanks be to the only God.
It is written..."I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20)
I feel sorry for those that can't relate to Paul's words.

So, when Peace tells me that I am not a Christian and am going to eternity in hell, because I repent too often, he is not uplifting and encouraging?

He causes me to examine myself harsher. I then realize I fail terribly and can probably never be a Christian in his heaven. Fortunately for me, I will be in the heaven with people who need a helper John 14:26 and a Savior.
One repentance should have sufficed.
Any further "turns" manifest that the first repentance was a lie.

You deny the facts of repentance and rebirth.
I "turned from" my old ways, and was reborn of incorruptible, Godly seed that cannot bring forth evil fruit.

No I do not deny!
You over look things.
SEED which is something that needs to be fed and grown.

Yes God's SEED can not produce evil but you are not just God's SEED.

What you preach is if one repents then the only thing left is God.
What you preach is repentance brings the full manifestation of the Fullness of God in you.

Both are totally wrong thinking.

So what?
If you are going to wait till you know "everything" to be "perfect" in Christ, it will never happen.
Of course some will use that POV to continue offending God while claiming a clean conscience.
Is that your goal?

Once again you twist what has been said so it can be fit into what you preach.

Can you please try to reply to what was actually said? It will save a lot of this back and forth stuff.
Thanks

God won't hide things from you that will cause you to continue in sin.
Again you pervert what was said into a narrow minded view of sin.

Forget all those big sins that even a 10 year old knows. They do not apply to what all of us have been saying.

There are things which a person can not see as sin in the place they are.
Then they gain more light and this new light exposes things that now have to be changed if you are going to continue forward in this new level of light.

This thing you push that because you truly repented makes you perfect with no sin and you can not sin and every thought you have is Christ is bad doctrine that limits your growth in Christ.

Had you continued to the last verse of Phil 3, you would have seen what Paul had no yet "attained"..."Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."
Paul awaited his glorified body.

Nice try but no go.
You can't take V21 and change what Paul was talking about in 13-17

Please stop pulling single lines of scripture to try and back your thinking.

Anytime we use scriptures and they are opposed to even the slightest piece of another scripture - our use is in error.

God's Word never goes against itself
Blessings to you

Goo thing this is not true or I would have stopped repenting for my sexual immorality and been doomed to hell if I listened to you !!! but I kept repenting every-time I failed and now it has been so long since I have sinned that I do not remember the last time and God has taken away the urges I used to have. My freind you leave no hope for those who it takes more then one time of repenting. I literally took years for this process of growth !!!

Your false teaching could very well send someone to hell if they listen to you and quit repenting after there first stumbling block

@At Peace
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

Key word in your scripture is practice, continues knowing better.
Problem there it has nothing to do with what I said
The word "practice" isn't in my bible.

No I do not deny!
You over look things.
SEED which is something that needs to be fed and grown.
Fig seeds cannot bear grapes.
God's seed cannot bear lies, murders, and adulteries.

Yes God's SEED can not produce evil but you are not just God's SEED.
Yes, I am just God's seed.
My old self was killed on the cross with Christ Jesus. (Rom 6:2-6)

What you preach is if one repents then the only thing left is God.

Repentance from sin AND baptism in the name of Jesus Christ DOES bring the fullness of God to us.
What did Peter say on the day of Pentecost?
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)

Both are totally wrong thinking.
Your doctrine denies that we can repent..."turn from", all sin forever.
Your doctrine denies that we can kill the old man and be reborn of God's seed.
Your doctrine is one without hope, for those who are truly seeking to show God they love Him above everything else.

Again you pervert what was said into a narrow minded view of sin.

Forget all those big sins that even a 10 year old knows. They do not apply to what all of us have been saying.

Do you want to live without sin?
Do you think that God would deny your want?
Or do you just love sin too much to ever turn from it?

What you are ,in effect, saying is that while your ship is sinking, and even though the life boat is there, you can't use it till you read the instructions and take an exam, that must be graded by professors who have to receive your test via snail mail and then need to compare it to every other previous test they have ever graded in the past. Then they have to be sure you didn't cheat so have to watch the video tape of your testing to see if you are using crib notes or some other cheaters device.
Then a panel of judges have to form a quorum to go over the results of the professors grading credentials and techniques.
After this, the judge's overseers must examine their historical precedents and motives in order to establish the correctness of the judge's mental well being...
Sort of like your road to salvation...never ending.
Why do you think God made it so hard for YOU to please Him perfectly?

Nice try but no go.
You can't take V21 and change what Paul was talking about in 13-17
I didn't change anything.
I simply completed the thought he was trying to get across.
What did verse 11 say?
Oh ya, he was talking about not having attained the resurrection of the dead yet.

Please stop pulling single lines of scripture to try and back your thinking.
The key, which even you admit, is that one line of scripture does back up my thinking, thanks be to God.

Anytime we use scriptures and they are opposed to even the slightest piece of another scripture - our use is in error.
God's Word never goes against itself
Got that right.
Check out these verses...
"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matt 5:48)

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32-36)
[33] They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
[34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
[35] And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
[36] If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. “

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." (John 17:22-23)

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
For he that is dead is freed from sin.” (Rom.6:6-7)

" There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Rom 8:1)

"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Cor 15:34)

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Cor 5:21)

"Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you." (2Cor 13:11)

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." (Eph 2:1-3)

" Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:" (Col 1:28)

"Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you." (Phil 3:15)

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." (2 Tim 2:19)

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Tim 3:16-17)

"Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:15-16)

"But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." (Heb 10:39)

Do you have even one scripture that refutes any of these posted exhortations on perfection?

Goo thing this is not true or I would have stopped repenting for my sexual immorality and been doomed to hell if I listened to you !!! but I kept repenting every-time I failed and now it has been so long since I have sinned that I do not remember the last time and God has taken away the urges I used to have. Your false teaching could very well send someone to hell if they listen to you and quit repenting after there first stumbling block
What exactly does the word "repent" mean to you?

@At Peace
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
Yes indeed.
How about if he is intent on living in sin even after having been presented the words that would free him from service to sin?
I can't forgive something he does to God.

The word "practice" isn't in my bible.
If the reborn man is of God's seed, it is impossible for him to bring forth evil fruit.
Even once.
Well that gives a huge reason why you insist on things the way you understand them. You have nothing else to give you a true understanding.
Just reading the kjv is not wise.

8The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
9Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
10By this the children of God and the children of the devil can be distinguished: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.…

Yes The seed of God can not but you are not just all God.
You are still man.
