Scriptures pastors never talk about.

If you aren't in a church of some sort, you aren't really connected to the body of Christ.

The statement above seems backwards to me.
I thought that one becomes connected or part of the body of Christ by being in Christ.
Is there any scripture that indicates one must be in a "church" to be a part of the body of Christ?

Only all the ones that say bear each others burdens, confess your sins to each other, pray for one another and love one another.
You can't do those things if there is no one else in your church.

So you believe if you don't then your not part of the body? What about Paul in Arabia or John on Patmos were they not part of the body?

So do you believe that in order to be part of the body it requires more than just being connected to Christ?

We need to Read the Bible , to feed our Spirit ! It will accept only truth ! our flesh mind can be confused !

Mat_4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Heb_5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
1Pe_2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

It Who we are following that reveals the Truth we have ? If we follow mankind ? we will have many scriptures misunderstood ! It we are being taught by the Holy Ghost ? We will be much closer to living in full truth ?

1Jn_2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The trouble is ? many follow Pastors or teachers or Religions or other books !

listen i too did this once ! God rebuked me for Not following HIM ! I was following a Pastor ! Now i know better !
I still honor the pastors !

1Co_2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Co_2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co_2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

I think many Pastors and teachers think they are doing good ? Just have accepted others peoples teachings as Truth !
But of course , sure there are some who know the truth , but refuse to teach it ! thinking they will lose something ?

Listen , many churches would have less people in them , and maybe less money ? The price of preachibng truth , could make things much harder on many ?

not really sure ? But the church at it beginning went though lots of problems , Yet Many miracles and people accepted the LORD and walked in His power ! giving All they had ! Like to see it like that again !

Spirit1st: Dear Brother, My heart hurts whan I read "many" . I am not sure if you have thought about us who have given all we have in ministry. Please recomsider saying a "certian' "lot' or "a few" Many may neam 99% or 30%, try to be a little more limited and saying "many" with so many problems you have seen. My experience is there are a large number of conserative Bible believing Spirit filled pastors. They search the Word for the message God expects them to give the people He is resoonsible. Do be an encouragement for those of us that have given with all the Lord expected, and sometimes people have no idea what "many" of us have done or gone through for the Lord. Blessings Spirit1st.

Listen Brother I have LOST most of everything i ever had 1 Not complaining and see no use in explaining 1 It does not matter 1 Only the Truth matters !
We Belong to him after salvartion 1 I know few preach the truth ! but I also Know !

Mat_22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Rom_12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Rev_2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Soon we will see who Are born _again and who were Not ? those born -again Will go n the Catching away ! those who played at religion will be left to suffer ! I feel so sorry for them ! I really Do !

I known lots of preachers in my life time! Preached my self a little ?

This worlds a mess ! Many are doing lots of what they think are good works ?
few are Leading others to the Lord , raising the dead ,healing the sick. casting out devils and feeding the poor ?

Few are listening to our LORD ?

The Body of Christ Jesus is Not very big ! When We understand there are About 7 billion people on the Earth ! And the Lord only started with 12
and later Paul and They Almost conquerored the Entire world ! Now we say we are millions and millions , yet evil rules this world ! We kill millions of babies , show all kinds of evil on T.V.
Jesus Said ?
Luk_18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

He ASKED that for a Very Important Reason ! We cannot pat ourselves on the back as if we did so much for HIM !

Rom_1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

Rom_10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Only all the ones that say bear each others burdens, confess your sins to each other, pray for one another and love one another.
You can't do those things if there is no one else in your church.

lol amen. Just as there is the spiritual reality and the physical practicality in our personal relationship with Christ, it's the same with church, the corporate relationship with Christ. On the one hand we are in the church by faith in Christ.. regardless of where we are in space and time.. on the other hand we are not in the church or the body of Christ practically if we are not fellowshipping with other believers.
It's the same with baptism.. is it enough to say you are baptised by faith? Or should we actually go through with the physical act of baptism and get a little wet? Some say it's enough just to have the faith.. but they don't understand that faith without works is dead.

When you are saved you become a member of the body of Christ which is the church. We need to fellowship with other christians, God set it up that way. If you are not hearing truth where you are, get out, go where truth is preached. If you have to, start a home church. I am a preacher, I am not a pastor, But I preach ONLY the Word of God. I have tried to model myself on Paul's statement "I know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified"

I agree that there are many who only preach feel good and prosperity but God has men out there who preach the hard hitting gospel.
There are congregations in my area that seem to me to be luke warm, I complained about it and pointed fingers for a long time. God has shown me that IF I am in "the church" I should have a burden and love for these people, stop running my mouth and seek to intercede for them with God. I conduct a small Bible study in my home and we are praying and seeking God to intervene in these churches.

If you see there is a problem, do something about it. Talking about it, judgeing and putting people down only plays into Satan's hand.
If you are a true born again child of God you have a duty and responsibility.
God has given you a charge to fight against these devices of Satan.....

Luke 10:19 - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Just a note it may seem as a cop out but I assure you I'm not seminary trained and that rule still stands .God will not forgive just because we were mis lead .im quite sure He will ask .DID YOU LOOK FOR YOURSELF AND ASK ME ..the copout is when we look at God and say as Adam .You Lord made the minister it's not my fault..lean not to you're own understanding but check all you hear against Gods word to see if it stands or falls under the weight of truth...may you only know the voice of our Savior and Lord ...Rev

Your salvation might not depend on it. But if you're not plugged-in to a body of believers, you're not doing what he asked us to do.

Well said Rev.......I am not seminary trained either, I went to the school of "kneeology"

Amen my schooling started as neck deep in quicksand and sinking fast...thank God he showed me a better way ..yes I've been schooled but by Gods own hand for His Glory alone ....we will be known by our fruit no matter where we get our education .God equips us for the ministry He has set before us with out lack but in the fullness of His word and plans for us....I'd like to tell you I've been perfect in service to God but it would be a lie ..if any man says otherwise they are caught intheir own pride and they are selling snake oil..pray for wisdom and discernment for all you read and hear ..and as far as the body being a church i give you this IRON SHARPENS IRON ..we need each other to build and become all that God needs .its not the walls youre right .but when im in a house of worship with others of like precious faith its like no other times of worshiping ...remember a sheep is most vulnerable when alone from the flock ..that is just simple truth ...in Jesus name ..Rev

AMEN! That Will Preach

I once had an 80 Yr old minister tell me there are more hypocrites on a pew than on a bar stool.! We like to say its all the pastors fault when we don't move off the pews to take the same word he reads to the lost our selves Just as Christ told us to at the point of salvation.....GO YE UNTO THE WORLD AND RECONCILE OTHERS AS YOU WERE RECONCILED. We have the right no duty to seek the lost and hurting with full authority from Christ ..Not just the pastors.....Rev

Yes, we are all ambassadors for Christ, we have all been given the charge. As christians we must have the mind of Christ and "be about my Father's bussiness"

There seems to be a thread that seminary does more harm that good, as I have read a few pposts that give that impression. Would any of you go to the doctor and have some serious illness threted by a doctor that said he gid not go to medical school, but he worked in vet's office for two years and saw every opperation and learned how to treat people by what the gave the animals? Of cource not. Well a pastor needs Bible college at least. When you start out as a pastor you need all the skills he can gather to take care of the souls God has given him. How would like a pastor that only knew how to preach the same few verses over and over?

Seminary is not for everyone. But it is a place to become better equiped, more will rounded in aspects that go deeper in Scripture, congregation ministry to the different age groups, administration in ministry. Then there are courses on preaching , by the christian calander, chapter by chapter, topical, special events, funerals, weddings. How to do bapiism's, Counseling with all ages and spiritual growth. This just names a few areas there is so very much more,. I have no objection to saying some seminaries are too expensive, but it is worth every penny. blessings.

Do you not think that the Holy Spirit can teach a man all he needs to know?
I never went to school.
I have done weddings and baptisms.
God gives me the message to preach, not by the calender, special events or any thing like that. God knows the heart of every person in the congregation, He knows what they need. The Holy Spirit preaches the message, I am just a tool He uses to speak through.

I am not against school if God leads someone in that direction. But don't short-change God by thinking if a man does not go to school he cannot do the job God has called him to do.
God equips those He calls.

What school or man can fill you with the Spirit?
What school or man can see the heart of the congregation and know what they need?
When the disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost and preached hundreds were saved.

Please don't take this wrong, I am not railing against school.
What I am saying is that if God calls a man to a job, He equips Him to do that job.
All that we need is in the Bible or is taught by the Spirit.
If it is man's idea or way of doing apart from that then I don't want it.

The people who teach at seminary or Bible school had to get their knowledge somewhere. If it is from man it is useless. If it is from God, I have access to the source myself. Whatever He taught them, He can teach me.

If you are plugged in to the Holy Spirit then you have fellowship in the body because you are the body.

John 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

If you believe scripture then all believers live in the same place.
The kingdom of heaven is within you not off in the sky or trapped in a building made by human hands.
What if all humans died but one, wouldn't he(or she) still be the body?

A sheet can be sewn from a single thread and give the appearance of individual threads crossing each others paths but there is no time or space in spirit and if we are all "one" then let that one be the one whom God sent, the Lord Jesus Christ.

James 1:10 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

According to Jn.17:21 you are the place he went to prepare for you and he wants to reveal himself to the world through the "himself"in you that the world may believe that God sent Jesus.
I think that fellowship in the Holy Spirit speaks of far more than time and location of individuals talking about something off in the sky.

Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
