Worldly gain vs godliness

1. Paul did not try anything. Like Job he endured the hell that hit him. No matter what it was.

2. I think it should be obvious that if a storm is about to hit you and cause a shipwreck, you ask God to spare you the uncomfortable / frustrating scenario.

3. You would say that we will only endure persecutions from evil men / satan? Remember God has us with these evil men and He can do anything. The secret is that He is with us in the uncomfortable to the flesh situation that He places us in for reasons we may not always (if ever in this lifetime) understand.

4. Really can't see it? There are a couple in fact. 1. Thinking persecution is momentary. When it is your whole life. 2. Thinking God of the universe needs your faith when He has your heart. I could go on all day.

Where do you learn this stuff?!

Where do you learn this stuff?!

We are witnessing an example of the outcome of one who is self-taught.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.

Because our God given brains and the Holy Spirits conviction make us sin conscious. The devil on the other hand wants us all to think we are en route to heaven. Judge our state in Christ according to our prosperity and health VS our hatred for what is evil.

Dude scripture tells ut to NOT be sin conscious.
I have asked you here several times and in cfs if you have a spiritual father or another words a man of God that has been placed in your life so you can learn and grow - You have ALWAYS avoided this question. So I will say it again - You need to seek God and allow Him to place you under someone bro - You really need to.
OBTW your time out ended early in cfs.. ;)

Just like when you drive, ski, skate or other like activities, you look where you want to go...Why? You will ALWAYS go where you are looking...If you are always conscious of sin (looking at sin) you will always be falling into sin or fighting like mad to avoid it...And that's as far as you'll get... If you focus on the fact that you ARE the righteousness of God in the anointing, guess what? That's the direction you WILL go.

It is all human reasoning and understanding and compares everything spiritual to natural mans way of thinking. The out come is NOT Good.
Keep Praying for Him - He is always heavy on my heart

KJ is a very special DUDE LOL He is a very sincere young fellow, still one can be sincere and be sincerely Wrong.....Yes he does need prayer

1. Yes He does. It is for our own good too. We need to be sure that we actually love God. Are you proposing that God did not send the devil to Adam and Eve?

2. Well, yes. God does control everything. Especially for us. Christianity 101 = giving Him full authority over our lives, to do with as He wishes. If we are poor after judging ourselves to not be lazy...it is God's will.

3. Within reason. Modesty is Christianity 101.

4. Being poor definitely reveals what is in the heart. Better for God to put us through that now and expose our empty and wicked heart to us then have is in hell for eternity don't you think.

5. I think you would win many to the Lord if they saw you still serving ''God of the universe'' when He was starving you to death.

6. I pray for the day that you will see it is not about being victorious and winning. We know we are children of God of the universe on DAY ONE. We don't need to keep waving that flag of power and victory. We need to focus on humility and as Paul says being weak with the weak to reach the weak. Life down here is NOT ABOUT YOU AND I! It is about the complications involved in getting someone to actually love God for who He is and not for what He brings to the relationship!! We are not timeshare salesman.

7. That sounds like brainwashing.

8. My bible tells me that ''I will make it work for myself'' in heaven. Down here on this planet, God has only God 70 years to reach me and use me to reach others.

Brother Kj this reply from you is so not in line with the written word of God. It is a mess to say the least.
Why do you limit how long you have to live bro ? That 3 score and 10 ( 70 years ) is not for you - it was a curse as a punishment for people who were DISOBEYING GOD. God already told us in Gen, that man shall live but 120 years. Religion has taken the 3 score and ran with it,.

You say you bible tells you that you will make it work for your self > Bro throw that bible out and get one with the written word of God in it. Or are you taking working out or walking out oour salvation as this ?

you say brain washing - Funny God and the Holy Spirit and Jesus don't know this is brain washing for they tell us this all through His written word.

First of all God my Creator will NOT ever starve me. Second we can be content in any situation but this is not to be confused with accepting it. Now then why would any one want to serve a Mean ol God who starves you and makes you sick to humble you and wants you poor and so forth ? Come on dude - We are to be the ones who GIVE and bring aid to others..........

Any way KJ, I love you bro but you need to surrender unto God and allow Him to change the way you think.
God Bless

KJ is a very special DUDE LOL He is a very sincere young fellow, still one can be sincere and be sincerely Wrong.....Yes he does need prayer
Yep and that is like I heard it once said....you can be as serious as you can and still be seriously wrong.

1. So KingJ Do you beat your kids? Just to teach them something I mean. And do you tell them what you want them to learn? I only ask this because when God breaks your arm He never tells you what He wants you to learn.

2. a. How does that work, that God is in control? Didn't He put us in charge.."And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." I guess He was just joking right? We surrender our wills to Him all right and He shows us what we should do...But He does not control us, does He?

b. You said " If we are poor after judging ourselves to not be lazy...it is God's will. " Please show me scripture for this....I've shown you, and others have shown you lots of scripture for the opposite..That God wants us prosperous.

3. You said "Being poor definitely reveals what is in the heart." Yup it does...
We can start with being stressed because poverty and stress go hand in hand..chronic stress makes many susceptible to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, depression and diabetes, Developmental disabilities, Learning disabilities, Intellectual disabilities, adults inpoverty show higher level of Withdrawal Symptoms, Somatic Complaints (physical symptoms), thought Problems (i.e. pervasive negative thinking, Adults are often impacted by worry & anxiety about what to do Children are impacted by feelings of helplessness & lack of control and the list goes on and on including depression, despondency, despair..All of which are the opposite of Faith, hope and godly strength.

4. And you're saying that this is what God wants for His children? Hmmm Yeah we can replace all that empty and wicked hearts in us with all the other stuff I just mentioned...Not to mention, rejection from other more prosperous Christians, ignored, frowned upon, treated like lesser creatures, all of which Christians are guilty of all the time.

5. Its obvious by this that you do not know the Gospel that Jesus came to teach...Luke 4:17-19 (CJB)

18 “The Spirit of Adonai is upon me;
therefore he has anointed me
to announce Good News to the poor; (you don't have to be poor anymore)
he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned (I've come to set you free)
and renewed sight for the blind, (You can see now)
to release those who have been crushed, (Restoration is yours)

19 to proclaim a year of the favor of Adonai.

6. People don't want what you have if all you have is pain and sorrow...

7. Sorry dear friend...That's all blat...There is NO scripture to back this up... Poverty does not cause humility any more than prosperity..... the thing that produces humility is GRATEFULNESS. If you develop a sense of 'everything you have or get is from a loving Father and develop a grateful spirit, you will be humble. Anything else is fake.

8. You will make what work? You will? I thought you said its God who does it in you? God has given you 120 years why limit Him at 70?

1. God beats the flesh out according to what we can handle. God can break your arm and any body part if it serves His purpose. If God wanted you to reach those in wheel chairs, He will put you in one.

This is not on par with me beating my kids to teach them something. We are adopted kids who need to learn to let go of the flesh and trust our new Father. Hence He says things like Matt 6:26, Phil 4:7 and faith of a ridiculously tiny mustard seed can move a mountain:).

2. a. You are jumping on the 'God' controls' statement by me in reply to your use of it out of its context. The context is healing. You and I are not demigods with our own power to bring about healing.

2 b. Have you shown me scripture? Please share the scripture you think teaches us that God has promised us all prosperity and healing. I have seen none.

3. This is why the peace we have from God surpasses all understanding. Most would commit suicide in their first week in Job's shoes. This is why Christianity cannot be faked. We look to heaven and trust God despite the crazy things He is putting us through. We have faith like Abraham had. Now please just understand that I am not espousing God treats us all like this. Nor that He puts us through what we can't handle. Using our God given brains + hands + no laziness = no poverty mostly. God does need some of us to reach the rich. God does certainly not need all of us ;).

4. Or we can replace it with real faith and trust in God Col 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Rejection from prosperous Christians. Is there such a thing? Do rich Christians who mock the poor really think they are Christians? o_O :whistle.

5. You are assuming that is what it means. It does not. The good news that we can proclaim to the poor, sick, healthy and rich is that nobody has to be sad or depressed any longer. Mankind can be united with God. Mankind can reign with and live happily forever after with God. That holiday to Egypt that you cannot afford. Don't worry, God has invited you to heaven. It is actually....quite naive / sick to think Jesus is talking about prosperity for the poor. It is on par with thinking ''by His stripes we are healed'' has anything to do with bodily healing.

6. Well that is a very naive view of every poor and sick Christian. Do you think you actually lead people to Jesus if we advertise happy and prosperous life? You lead people to church membership not Christianity.

7. The whole bible backs it up. A poor person has not got much to fuel pride. Your statement is shocking. Gratefulness makes you humble? Hehe. The devil is grateful.

8. You are to eager to jump. You are missing the context.

When Holy Spirit leads and anoints a person, that person is no longer sin conscious, but Christ-conscious.

Romans 5:1 - we are at peace with God through Jesus Christ!
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

2 Corinthians 5:21 - Our sin is removed and we now have Christ's righteousness!
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Therefore, when we fail, we no longer need to suffer the consciousness of it, nor do we suffer condemnation or even feel badly, because we are conscious of who we are in Christ. Because of that, we are able in Christ to pick ourselves up, let Him dust us off and we can continue in our walk with Him, never looking back.

When you fall, be conscious of who you are in Christ, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue your walk with God! ~ Joseph Prince
.
You are quoting a half truth. Yes we have peace in Christ. God wants us to know that we are saved and hear Him talking to us.

However we only find peace in Christ once we are convinced we are in fact in Christ. According to Paul this is something we are to continue in. Now this involves us constantly examining ourselves / being sin conscious. If we see ourselves taking part in a grievous manner any of the these sins 1 Cor 6:9-13 we will not be in heaven. No matter how much '''peace''' we think we have. It will clearly just have been brainwashing.

Phil 2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

2 Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates.

1 Cor 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

1 Cor 6:8-10 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

What oversight do you come under? I am not going to disagree with you. Church attendance and oversight is very important. I attend an Assemblies of God church and have 4 elders that have been devout Christians for 30-40 years. They have corrected many beliefs of mine that I brought in. I used to believe a lot like you. We can be forgiven for our disagreements. They are so popular. All Christians are discussing the same issues and both sides have their scriptures. That is why I always try encourage some simple common sense and impeccable logic into discussions. For me a belief must pass a sanity test.

Example: Expecting God to want us all to be rich is clearly madness. Can't be true. There are many deformed people unable to even get work but they love Jesus. Many persecuted at work their whole lives for being Christians. Unable to get promoted or anything. The list goes on and on. The belief you have chosen is simply not realistic / sane. Everything will be A ok in heaven. Not here. Here, if God does not deliver us, He is with us in our suffering.

God doesn't put anyone in wheelchairs. His will is that we all be whole. Jesus Christ and His gospel message penetrates the hearts of the infirm through anyone and everyone who submits to Him.

Is your God schizophrenic?

You are quoting a half truth. Yes we have peace in Christ. God wants us to know that we are saved and hear Him talking to us.

I am not one who believes or furthers any half-truths.

If anyone is new age, it's you. You rely far too much on your personal intellect. It makes your mind a playground for the enemy.

Show me scripture...There is NONE

You said I should show you scripture showing that God wants us to prosper because there are none...so
Deuteronomy 8:18 - But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as [it is] this day.

Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

You said to show you scriptures on how God wants us healthy. Because there are none. So...
Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Deuteronomy 7:15 - And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all [them] that hate thee.

I love this one!
Psalm 103:1-5 (CJB)
103 (0) By David:

(1) Bless Adonai, my soul!
Everything in me, bless his holy name!
2 Bless Adonai, my soul,
and forget none of his benefits!

3 He forgives all your offenses,
he heals all your diseases,
4 he redeems your life from the pit,
he surrounds you with grace and compassion,
5 he contents you with good as long as you live,
so that your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.

So what part of 'He heals ALL of your diseases' could you possibly miss?

So now, I'm getting really tired of all your talk with NO scripture to back it up...I'm challenging YOU to put your scripture where your 'mouth' is.....Put up or, I hesitate to say, shut up. I'll say it this way Put up or shut up and learn... Show me scripture not conjecture!

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

We can learn a lot from this. I would like to go into further detail on them. But it will be too long a reply. The bottom line with all OT promises is simply that they were to the Jews. We have to understand that God had to dangle promises in front of them or else they would not care about obeying His law. As I have already said ''promised land of MILK nad HONEY''. Or as you have quoted ''I will open up the windows of heaven if you tithe''. We are not Jews. We are not super Jews.

- Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
This is John greeting Gauis. It is a typical line given to a king.

And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work:
Sufficiency is to be taken care of. Not prosper.

- For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
I am truly shocked that you think this has anything to do with earthly prosperity. Jesus gave His life for us.....so that we can financially prosper........? It is talking about spiritual prosperity.
- Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
If you read the whole chapter you will see that Jesus is talking about blessings He will give us in heaven, example: vs 23
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

The only verses that apply to being rich and prosperous in this chapter are these: Vs 24 & 25

24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
