works has nothing to do with salvation yet it is a by product

You should never say that. You walk on dangerous grounds.

Some people believe "once saved, always saved". Meaning you can never lose your salvation if you were ever saved.
So whenever someone says "I used to be a Christian" to them. They normally say, well then you were never saved in the first place.

This has been debated here on TalkJesus many times.

Once s a s, belief doesnt work in scripture, and i can prove it. But not right now, at work

BAC is not one for OSAS he is against it, this I am certain LOL
That is ok. Even though a person is against it, he may not have what he needs for a good arguement with someone who does think that way.

About the osas theroy, and why it doesnt work. It requires a little understanding and study.

The first part of this is where Jesus casts a demon out. The chief preists confront Jesus and say only the Prince of devil can cast out devils.

What Jesus then says. A house against itself can not stand.

This is very important.

At one point in the scripture. Jesus sends his apostles out to the towns. The scripture states, Jesus gives them authority over the devil and the ability to heal.

Again this is important, The names of the apostles were writen out. Judas full name is given.

Ive always found that interesting, the only full name written here is Judas.

They go out, and when they return, the apolstles are rejoicing and carrying on. Jesus says. Rejoice not because of what you have done, but rejoice for your names are written in heaven.

Now the arguements of the osas crowd will say Judas was full of the devil. The problem with that is scripture. Back to what Jesus says about casting out demons.

When Judas was casting out demons, he was saved, his name was written in heaven. Scripture states it, Jesus says it.

But we also know, Judas threw away what he had. Just like the Son of Isaac.

Bill I believe this is the scripture you are referring to ?

Luke 9:1-2
And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.

Luke 10:20
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

When the love of God is present in a person, it is always being emitted from them. You can see it in everything they do. The fruit. As the bible says, they are slow to anger, compassionate, and so on.

There is a tenderness that is sweet to behold.
Do you think Jesus' words to the Pharisees was "slow to anger"?
"Hypocrites and liars", He called them.
Sweet to behold?

Don't get trapped in stereotypes.

I sure do, because Jesus is perfect and it is written

Psalm 103:8
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

James 1:19-20
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Proverbs 16:32
Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

@At Peace

what you speak of is called righteous anger, personally I leave that for God alone, I do not think I am mature enough to handle it.

When God punishes the Jews in the Old Testiment, does He stop loving them? When you punish your children, do you ever stop loving them?

Jesus calling them Hypocrites and Liers is still sweeter than God saying, away from me, i never knew you.

Thanks for your reply
The way of righteousness isn't being hid from you.

No, to both your scenarios.
God, and parents give the "child" exactly what they deserve.

if we got what we deserve we would ALL being going to hell
Are you not grateful that Jesus made a way for us to suffer the wages of sin...death...early? (1 Tim 5:24)
And to be reborn of His holy seed? (1 John 3:9)

I'm glad my sins went before to judgement, and to have been enabled to bring forth holy fruit.

It is possible for a man to have works without having any faith, but it is impossible for a man to have faith without works.
