The Adam here in Gen 1:26 is mankind in general

The problem with generalism....

Rom 5:15; But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
Rom 5:16; And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.

If Adam isn't truly "one man" and is just an abstract of mankind/society at that time.... then it seems we aren't saved by "one man", but we could be saved by an abstract of society.
The Bible specifically says "Adam" .. and it specifically says "one man".

What I meant by Adam in Gen 1:26. The name Adam here is implying all of mankind in general that were created on the sixth day, both male and female. Where as in Gen 2:8, this Adam is the single man God formed on the eight day, God first referring to him as, THE MAN. When God said, THE MAN, He meant that particular man, not just any man, but THE MAN ADAM. ETH-HA-ADAM.

In the Hebrew language, THE MAN, Adam is written this way. ETH HA ADAM. I know very little grammar but from what I read, the (ETH) is the article and the (HA) is the particle. I’m not sure what the article and the particle are completely, but from what I gather, it pin points THE MAN ADAM. The one and only man God formed on the eight day. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE ADAMIC RACE, GODS CHOSEN PEOPLE.

Not chosen cause He loved them more than His other children. No, God had a job for His chosen people and that was to teach them His word and then disperse them around the world to teach the gentile races Gods word.

Gen 1:1. In the beginning God created the heaven and earth. When was the beginning? There is no set date on when God did this. It was just in the beginning and that was way before the book of Genesis was written. Most try to say that the earth is about 6000 years old. This date is easily debunked. Scientists know and have documented this earth is millions of years old. They are angles footprints in stone right here in America that carbon date fifteen million years old. People will say carbon dating is not that accurate. Let’s say it 90% inaccurate or wrong. That still makes the footprints in stone 1.5 million years old. Much older than the 6000 years they say the earth is.

@Beresheet -- you can challenge this all you want. But God's Word IS God's Word. God created man out of the dust of the earth and man became a living soul. That 'man' was given a name a bit later -- Adam.

Genesis 2:8 says that God put the man that He formed in the garden eastward in Eden.

No one was formed on Any 8th day. There are only 7 days in Any week. Either back Then or now.

The Adamic race was NOT / were Not God's Chosen people. Actually there was No 'Adamic' race of people. Everyone came from Adam. And then by extention Noah and his family.

God's Chosen people -- the Children of Israel came through Jacob and his 12 sons.

There were 6 days of creation and on the 7th day - God 'rested'. He was giving mankind the example Of taking a day off during the week For rest. Worshiping God.

A rule of thumb: when someone introduces 'spiritual eyes' to a discussion, you can expect what follows to be nonsense.

Scripture contradicts what you say. Genesis 3:20 tells us that Eve is the mother of all.

Hekuran, so God doesn’t know what He talking about on spiritual eyes being opened or closed. One doesn’t open their spiritual eyes on their own. If one thinks this, they are only fooling themselves. Only God can open ones spiritual eyes. It’s pretty simple if one thinks that Adam and Eve, this single couple, birthed all the different color races of Gods children, I can assure you that this persons spiritual eyes are not open.

Spiritual eyes are not needed to see the milk of Gods word, the baby food of the word is in plain sight but the strong meat is different, cause God has hid that knowledge from most. It’s takes just common sense and the understanding of Gods natural scheme of things to see past the idea that Adam and Eve, this one couple, was the mother and father of all the different colored races of people. Gods law of kind after kind was in affect in the beginning and it’s in affect at this time. A particular race of people will only reproduce their race of children. Even in the animal world it’s kind after kind. You don’t see cattle producing sheep, an eagle producing canary, or a goldfish birthing whales, it’s kind after kind, always.

Eve was the mother of all living from this point only. Adam and Eve were a very special couple that God FORMED on the eight day of creation. I didn’t say the eight day of the week. This man and woman would be the family that Jesus the Christ would be born upon this earth. And here is link that one could say that Eve was the mother of all living. Christ came through the womb of Eve and if one except Christ as your savior, then you are living, if you deny Christ you won’t be living very long. So one can say that Eve was the mother of all living sense Christ came through her womb, the Gods savior of the world.

So many believe this nonsense that all the different color races of Gods children came from Adam and Eve. That’s a lie that has confused many and kept their spiritual eyes closed. Think about this my friends, Gods law is kind after kind and it will not be any other way.

God created both males and females on the sixth day and basically told these children to hunt and fish to live off the land. Nothing has been said about tilling the ground at this point.

God then rested on the seventh day from all His works.

God wakes up on the morning of the eighth day of creation and makes a very simple statement, Gen 2:5. For the LORD GOD had not caused it to rain upon the earth, AND THERE WAS NOT A MAN TO TILL THE GROUND.

You can’t take that any other way. When God says there was not a man to till, I can assure you there was not a man as of yet to till the ground. And here on the eighth day of creation God FORMED ONE MAN ONLY. God then took a rib, the old manuscript says curve, and we know now that God removed the helical curve of DNA from Adam and made Eve, Adams help mate and the mother of Jesus the Christ.

This stuff is strong meat and Christ says once you have the milk or the baby food of Gods word, then get into the strong meat. Hebrews 5:13 for every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: FOR HE IS A BABE. My friends don’t remain baby Christians, grow up and get out of that stage. Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age.

God’s plan of birthing on this earth, whether it be animals or man, is kind after kind. Don’t believe the nonsense that everyone came from Adam and Eve. God created all the gentile races on the sixth day, rested on the seventh day, and then FORMED Adam and Eve on the eighth day of creation. These two where a very special pair in that the Christ would be born unto this man and woman’s family.

Pay attention my friends, this is not rocket science. It’s God natural scheme of things. It’s simply, kind after kind.

God had originally told the people spread out but they didn't. So God 'helped' them spread out. Over time -- when groups of people begin to reproduce -- recessive and dominant features of the people come out -- genetic. And that happened after Noah and his ark.

Actually -- according to Genesis -- the world that God created for Adam and Eve was inhabited by all of their off-spring and for a long time their children reproducing more children for hundreds of years. So, yes, for almost 1000 years Adam and Eve Were the original parents of everyone. That was the average life span -- Adam lived for 960 or so maybe 930 and some others lived that long, too.

Then God saw fit to cause the world-wide flood of Noah's and his family's days. After God told them it was okay to leave the ark -- he told them to "be fruitful and multiply, and Fill the earth.

Going to chapter 11 -- the whole earth had one language -- one speech. vs 4 -- they did Not want to scatter on the face of the earth. They Wanted to 'build their own way to heaven'. So -- God interjected His Will on them.

It’s interesting to consider the fact that the Tower of Babel came after the flood of Noah.

The whole earth was covered by people by the time of Noah, else how could the whole earth be full of man’s wickedness? If the whole earth was covered by people, different skin colors must have arisen before the flood of Noah in some way.

Because the men on the earth today must need have come from Noah’s family, and because Noah was an old, OLD man by the time of the flood, I must logically conclude that his sons must have taken wives of all different skin color on board, which can easily explain today’s races. After all, we only have three main races. Dark-skinned, medium-skinned, and light-skinned. Whose to say that Noah didn’t ask his sons to run and take each a wife of a different color?

As far as the Adam, this thread has got me thinking. I’m about to pray and go study now. God bless.

@WesleyJordan -- God's Word says that the Tower of Babel happened After the flood -- the flood is taking place in Genesis 7 and 8 --Tower of Babel in chapter 11.

Chapter 11 starts out with "Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. Then they traveled from the east and found a plain in the land of Shinar and stayed there.

And, yes, everyone Since the flood have been descendants of Noah and his wife and their sons and wives.

Vs 28 of chapter 9 says that Noah lived after the flood 3 50 yrs. vs 29 so all the days of Noah were 950 years and he died.

Well -- Noah's sons had already had wives at the time of the ark -- they were all in the ark. His three sons and three wives.

Presently 'we' have Many various shades of skin color. There are middle-eastern skin colors -- intermarriage between cultures is producing a wide variety of 'peoples'.

Well -- when you take a moment to read the passages , you'll see.

We agree, however I must still point out that even though his sons already had their wives, his sons and their wives had not yet procreated. Only 8 souls entered the ark.

Who is to say that his sons didn’t take themselves wives of different colors before entering the ark? Remember how the wives are not mentioned.

Does it not seem more logical that all were of middle eastern colour at the time of Noah and the flood.

It was the situation at Babel that caused God to mix up languages and spread the people across the world. From then the colour of skin changed according to the temperatures and sunlight in the world they were scattered to.

@Brother-Paul -- good point -- the coloration of middle-eastern people.

In This country -- USA -- we have very black people of color and as they have intermarried with caucasion people -- their children are kind of an in-between color. They have the genetics from Both parents. so those kids will have a mixture of skin tones and texture of hair. Now -- when black married black -- the coloration of their children will be the same. The same thing with Hispanics and caucasions marry. Their kids will have genetics that are a mixture of both their parents.

So -- in either of those cases -- the kids are not completely white or completely black or completely hispanic. And back in the days -- couples wanting to get married had to think about who their Kids would be playing with , etc. Because Kids gravitate to playmates of like color, interests, etc. And blacks tended to associate with Other blacks and whites with whites, etc. The mixing tended to happen when we became a more mobile society. The various nationalities / skin colors would get to know each other and fall in love and want to get married.

The affect that the Tower of Babel had was that when God created all the different languages -- the people had to find other people who they could understand. thus -- the various people groups 'formed' -- these people had all be one color because that's how God created Adam and Eve. God created People -- not races. But He Also created people with DNA / genetics which was passed on from generation to generation. A man with blue eyes marries a woman with brown eyes -- what color of eyes will their children be born with? One might have brown eyes and the other blue eyes - or both with brown or both with blue.

Now Where the black race came from is confusing to me. Supposedly a result of a curse from God? due to sinning of some sort by someone?

On the ark -- two of every Kind. Male and female of every Kind of animal. Dogs are part of a 'kind' -- dogs, cayotes and 'something else' are of one Kind. Cats -- lions , the 'big' cats. My understanding of Kinds / Species is a bit 'off' probably. But like with birds -- many Varieties Of birds all over the world. But they are still considered birds.

Becoming 'one flesh' is talked about with marriage. A man and woman come together in marriage and come 'one flesh'.

There was no one On the ark other than Noah and his three sons and their wives To interact With and they were only on the ark for a few months. Everyone else in the Then existing world Died.

So -- I've wondered -- Beresheet Where do you get your information / ideas From?! You like to put your own 'spin' on Scripture.

God created Adam and then Eve -- to bring the human race into existence. that was so mankind would know that 'we' did Not evolve -- over millions of years from some form of chimp or 'whatever'. Mankind is distinctly Human.

He could have changed their colour etc at that time, or they could have been spread east, north, south and west as he wished, then subject to temperature and time in the sun they gradually changed colour. Nothing is impossible for God as we know.

But looking from Babel we are talking 1000's of years, people didn't travel like we do today, hence the change on colour and complexion.

I think it is dangerous to say they could be black due to sinning of some sort, what about yellow and other colours. We are all God's children but not all children of God.

I feel it is more likely, though we don't know, that those in the sun longest, south Africa etc, changed colour due to the heat and sun, they will have married people of their own colour and over time built up a resistance to the sun as a result.

Travel only increased over time, then due to industrial revolution people headed towards cities, boats took some people from country to another country but it was limited and more likely in the last few hundred years. It was then that mixed cultures started, but many still kept to themselves, birds of a feather flocking together.

But, then came the aeroplane, from the 1960's travel has increased incredibly, and year on year from then on. This meant people can go anywhere they can afford, to live or to work, mixed cultures grew and relationships (not always marriage) meant children were of mixed colours, mixed faith, etc.

No matter what happens in the world, no matter how mixed up it gets (has got/will get) I love the statement...

We are all God's children, but not all children of God.

Noah was chosen by God to enter the ark with his family because Noah’s generation was perfect. Meaning Noah had not mixed with any of the other races of people that God had created on the sixth day. All of Noah’s family had a perfect generation or perfect seed line from Adam.

Here is what a God told Noah to do. Gen 6:18. And of every living thing of (ALL FLESH), two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. So of all the different races God created, Noah took a male and and a female from every race aboard the ark.

God had Noah take two of every thing of all flesh on the ark.

It IS true that being out in the sun Too long Can produce sunburn -- have experienced that myself a time or two. But that Does heal and the person's skin returns to it's 'normal' color. And besides the sunburn is the skin turning pink / burning. And with some people their skin doesn't turn pink and burn -- it turns Tan. Some people who are out in the sun a Lot do have beautiful Tan skin.

I Did Google where the black skin color Did come from. With Noah -- he got to drinking and got drunk and fell asleep and one of his sons saw him in his tent naked -- his 'manhood' was not covered and Noah woke up and became aware of it. He pronounced a curse on Ham's son, Canaan. The Canaanite people were black. The Canaanites were destroyed. on the Other hand, there were Cushite people close to that region also. and They were black people. Moses married a Cushite / black woman -- Moses' sister criticized him for marrying a black woman and God caused her to have leprosy.

Oh, come on now -- If traveling in hot sun for years produced black-skinned people-- wouldn't we All be a shade of black?!

Anyway -- I can understand your concern about My comment -- it sounds racist -- but God didn't pronounce the 'curse' -- Noah did.

I've been flipping back and forth between Google articles -- seems that Africa is south -- or at least close by where the Cushite people were. And land of Africa is definitely Black. The Why? we really Don't know. Except that Black people have endured great hardships due to being taken from their home country centuries ago and became slaves in This country.


Traveling long distances on foot Isn't going to change the pigment of a person's skin.

But inter-marrying -- people of various skin colors marrying other people of Other skin colors Will affect the skin color of their children. That's plain genetics.

And all of this Did start with the people being dispursed into various language groups and thus -- over time -- various colorations , etc, did develop.
