Greetings,
The law condemns us to death. We can not ignore this.
We can not brush the Law off as it is not ours to do so.
The old man is dead because of the Law.
The Law was not complete without sacrifice, or in other words, if the fine is not paid the law is not satisfied.
Only Jesus the only begotten Son had the amount in riches to pay the fine needed to be paid (ransomed/redeemed) for the sins of the world which He offered up for us in dying.
This is Jesus Who I have believed, the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me...
This is one of those cases where the printed word makes a statement that COULD be taken as a challenge or correction.
I can't tell if you are agreeing with my post, or not.?
BTW, Do you have a verse regarding :The old man is dead because of the Law"?

In the Old Testament (the Scriptures) it was put before the people, (my paraphrase) you have before you Life and Death... choose Life.
That to me is one of the most amazing utterances from the LORD and yet, today we see so many ignoring it. We need to honestly ask ourselves before God, for we can not hide from Him, even if we cover ourselves in anything, whether it be leaves or righteousness, words or works.... we do need to ask if we are, daily in our walk, choosing Life but first we must choose Life and walk therein.
It really is an amazing thing.
Death and Life to choose from and the Lord gives a really big and easy hint... choose Life.
Or, if you prefer, He commands, Choose Life
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Regarding believing and being saved.....
what did the jailer have to do in order to be saved? The prison was in ruins.... (are we able to shake this world?); the jailer fearing that the prisoners had escaped, drew a sword so as to kill himself... (despair to the max); Paul called out that he should not hurt himself and the jailer asked... what must i do to be saved? I think the jailer addressed them as 'Sir's'.
Paul told the jailer to believe on the Lord Jesus, who he presently informed him of
He was then taken and baptized...(in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his past sins)..{Acts 16:31-33)

.May i ask, all and sundry who care to reply,
we are told that love is a verb, a doing word.
Can this be said about believe?
Yes, "believe" is a doing word.

Greetings again,

I was thinking who would like to live with a corpse?

Any idea why I was thinking that?
Bless you ....><>
Were you contemplating living with someone dead in sin?
Or dead to the Law?
Or crucified with Christ?
Or buried with Christ?

A person who decides to follow Jesus does not offend God.
Correct, so sinners don't "follow Jesus.

If you could ''keep'' all this, you would not need a Savior.
I think what you mean is...I wouldn't need a Savior again and again and again and again and again and again.
He has manifested His glory once in my life, and it was sufficient to cause me to walk with Him instead of yo-yoing in my faith.

A human is a human. A human is not an angel. An angel would have a stronger case for ''keeping'' perfect. But we know that even they are not, as one-day we will judge them.
Jesus was a human, and better than angels.
Your perspective of "human" is rooted in the condition of those not reborn of God's seed.
The reborn are NEW CREATURES.
Unlike any ever on earth before...and not subject to the things besetting the unregenerated.

Your other posts just do not deal with what is being raised. You need to re-read and meditate on what is being said to you.
What is 'being raised' is resistance to obedience to God.
Do you have some other POV?

Then you should have said so!!! :)

What part of #57 to Br. Bear goes against or is the point of your #78 to what I stated to you in #52 and of which you replied back to me in #68 of which I haven't had time to respond to? Not too confusing I hope :)

Oh, by the way. I’m off to Church tonight for a Bible Study and I consider it a joy to be able to do so! Get to fellowship a bit, help a couple of brothers out, and grow in His Word! So, if you don’t mind maybe Thursday, might give me a little more time to respond to your #68 and anything else you may reply back to me.

God bless.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
YBIC

I "think" I may have misread your "I do not, brother.", from post #57, as the answer to an imaginary question that I cannot now find.
You had said you were not a sinner earlier, (post #52), but appeared to be reneging on the claim....in my mind.
My fault for the confusion.

I still don't know what you were getting at when you mentioned my assessment of 1 John 5:16.

Correct, so sinners don't "follow Jesus.
You are very naïve to call a Christian who has dedicated their life to Jesus, but happen to still make some mistakes of sins, a sinner who does not follow Jesus. Someone who continues unrepentant in sin is a sin'ner.

Do you divorce your wife / disown your kids for a venial sin (could even debate a mortal sin)? Yes or No.

You are not understanding what a Christian is.

Jesus was a human, and better than angels.

Being a new creation does not make us perfect like God. What is wrong with you?

We are perfect to God. Just like a helper who becomes my wife. All things are new for her. She is perfect to me. This does not mean she is as perfect as I am, especially if I am God.

What is 'being raised' is resistance to obedience to God.
Do you have some other POV?
Satanism? You remind me of the devil when you say you are perfect like God. You really do. I also believe you have false humility, as you don't believe in OSAS and are taking an extremist Arminian view.

Our only perfection is Christ in us, our hope of glory Col 1:27.

Sin is not the descriptor of one who has dedicated their life to Jesus.

Yes.
If they will "turn from" sin in the future though, the door is always open.
As there is no difference between sins, you finished with a moot point.

You are not understanding what a Christian is.
You are not Jesus.

All I can gather from the above is that YOU think I don't know that Christians obey ONLY one God.
That I am not Jesus, though in John 17:22 Jesus prays..."And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"
That I AM perfect to God. But not AS perfect as God.
That Jesus' words on the mount; "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matt 5:48), were NOT meant seriously.

To the glory of God, I refuse to be drawn back in to false religions that give man power to ignore God's will.
"Christ in us"...a dirty, conniving, lust ravaged temple of the Holy Ghost?
No future there KingJ

Rough diamond > polished lemon.

Why do you think your flesh goes back to dust? Are you trying to save it?

When you are more focused on the outward, it is inevitable that you become heartless and filled with pride. You are sin focused, not Jesus / heart focused. This is coming out in your posts. You need to become more aware of this.

Are you Amish?

Yes, it was meant for Peace .

I take it you mean your fellow member At Peace?

I am me so he can't be so that probably means he is not amish like me?! and besides, I didn't think those kind folk would be using this modern technology? (don't blame them really) Perhaps you should be a little more direct and ask At Peace if he has a nice beard?

We can share in love, as Jesus did for us. I always get conviction when i read the account of Jesus washing His Disciples feet. O to have the real servants heart in all things, and remain harmless, for the name of Christ our Saviour.

Bless you ....><>

ps.. i think I owe you a reply or two but sometimes one gets a little busy and a bit behind, but all glory to God Who alone is worthy of praise.

Bless you ....><>

Yes, we all need work on this. I guess this is where Jesus / God's perfection shines brightest. He is perfectly patient, longsuffering, kind, gentle and truly loving. We are works in progress, needing constant exhortation.

My wife and two people at work have told me I am a bad teacher. I have no patience. I taught my kid his spelling for his tests and he got 2/10. He normally gets 8-9/10 if my wife teaches him. I guess I need to consider this. So easy to go off the rails. I guess it all points to pride. Impatience is an attribute of pride.

Greetings,

Chiefly, I guess because we can miss the mark by miles.
We can assume we know the heart of God when in fact we don't.

what if He takes that arrow and plunges it deep into His heart for you?

Example: You will stress about picking up a bad habit of cursing, with this group of unsaved people. So you avoid associating with them. Next day they all die in a car accident. You sit in your room overly joyed that you did.... not.... pick.... up.... a bad habit.

Straining a gnat and swallowing a camel!!
cursing as you call it.. if you mean boring, worn out, meaningless swear-words, they are sweeter to my ears that the filth than the lies and profane rot that professing Christians fling around at each other in defence of their home-made fences and the scheming slime that oozes from money seeking pseudo evangelists and the many other blasphemous words in the name of the Lord.
I have also known the rough and ready go splat on the road half hour after mixing and standing for Jesus and defending His name. But, I know what you mean.
At the same time, should the Bride defile her robes while waiting for her Lord?

I will try to finish this better in due course.

Bless you ....><>

We won't be judged for our limps or hairlines.
The vessel the Holy Ghost abides in is just (one of) His tool on earth now.
It is what is inside the vessel, and the fruit thereof, that we shall be judged on.
You should quit valuing the condition of the lemon so much.

I am not Amish...they haven't yet "turned from" sin.
But they are welcome to, as are all who have yet to submit to God.
