Seriously ill

Father You know the hearts of Your people and You know sadeyes heart. I pray that You will surround her with Your love. Let her experience Your love. You show Your love to us in the every day things around us too. I pray that You would take away all these pains she is suffering from. Strengthen her body from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. Help her to understand what she reads in the Bible so that she can put into practice what You are telling us to do. Help her to remember to put on Your armour every day. May she learn to thank you for every prayer that is answered. You long to hear us talking to You and I pray that she will know You talking to her even through reading the Bible. I pray that something she reads will jump off the page at her and she will know that is You speaking to her. May her body be refreshed when she wakes up too in Jesus' name amen.

Well Rachel15, you certainly have made me cry with your beautiful post.

If you've read the posts that I wrote 10/15 minutes ago, you will know that I have given up searching for the answers to what I thought were straight forward questions.

I am exhausted.

I was just about to log off and I found your post - and it has broken me.

Is Jesus really yearning for me - Wow!

Am I really precious?
Am I really loved?

I feel very ill at the moment, but I think that that is primarily due to the exhaustion that I am feeling as I try to find answers and know what to do. This is all so new to me and it is like trying to do a million piece jigsaw with a blind-fold on!!!!!!!

I have got to go to bed and rest before I collapse.

Dear Sadeyes, i believe the Lord led me to respond to your thread, as I am sure He has been leading other people here too, and I am certain that Jesus yearns for you - you really are precious to Him and He loves you. I too cried as i prayed and sought His words for you. You are not alone.

I have just been reading about some audio CD's by Andrew Wommack which can be bought online and have found them excellent - i hope i am not breaking any rules on this forum by recommending them to you, perhaps if you are able to get someone to get some to you. I noticed that he has teaching CD's on healing amongst others, more eloquent than i could ever explain.

Dear Lord Jesus, please help Sadeyes to have sweet and refreshing rest as she sleeps and strengthen her as she prays and reaches out to you.

Sadeyes, I believe God is saying do not be afraid.

Try to turn your worries into prayers. Do not worry if you cannot understand everything:-

How can we understand the road we travel? It is the LORD who directs our steps. Prov 20:24

The good news is that I have had a relatively pain-free afternoon.

I am also feeling better than I did last night as I am no longer suffering from frustration. I have had my questions answered and that has made it a lot easier for me to understand.

Thanks for suggesting about the audio CDs. I can certainly look into buying them.

Somebody said to me today that God can speak to you through a friend. Well, I am going to count you as a friend if God is speaking to me through you.

I am very scared of the pain. It is always worse in the evenings and at nights. I am also scared of the future. I don't want to go into details here, but the doctors have said that there is nothing more that they can do for me.

I am scared, so very scared.

My next question has to be how do you stop being frightened of something?

Earlier today, I was given Bible verses about not being afraid, but the simple fact is:

I AM VERY AFRAID!

By reading those Bible verses, is that going to stop me from being afraid?

Please, please, please do not think that I am ungrateful with this message, but quite simply, I need to know how I should not be afraid.

If the message was: Do not eat carrots (just an example), then I would know immediately how to obey and I would never eat a carrot again.

But how do you stop yourself from being afraid - especially when fear is a significant part of your make-up? Any doctor would say, I'm sure, that you can not just stop being afraid of something (regardless of what the fear is).

That's another tough question for me to find an answer to, but again, without an answer, I can not obey God's words.

OK you say to turn my worries into prayers. Will that take the fear away? - Just a thought.

I'm sorry, but I am feeling so tired now. I must go to bed.

One scripture came immediately to mind. Another way God speaks to us.

Philippians

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18 There is no fear in love. Pain is not a good thing to have to experience like you are. Know this that God knows what you are suffering and He is with you always.

I am thankful to Jesus for giving you a good afternoon.

Proverbs 3. 5.-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own undestanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

It may take time to let go and let God and not be afraid.

About the verse in red, does that mean that if I pray to God about my fear then he will take the fear away and replace it with peace?

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me - or am I making the meaning of that verse too simple??

Yep I believe if you present all your requests to God like it says then He can give you His peace. Nothing is too hard for God. What is impossible with man is possible with God. You can ask Him to take away your fears. He does not want you to be fearful it is not His will for you to have fear.

Let go of anything or anyone you are holding onto and let God have them.
It took me a long time to do this.

I was told to keep my eyes on Jesus but found that hard too. If we focus on Jesus and not on ourselves it does help though.

You are doing so well sister.

Yes, you can be healed. There are very few instances in the Bible where a follower of the Lord went unhealed. There are many more cases of healing in the Bible than there are of non-healing.

Psalmes 103:1-5: "(1) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. (2) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: (3) Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; (4) Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; (5) Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

The first step in being healed is truly believing that you can be. I know that that can be hard if there is nobody around you who has experienced healing, but realize that it can be done.

Be bold, and ask Jesus to heal you; completely. Continually ask; read Luke 18:1-8, and pay special attention to verse 7. Here are a couple of things to remember:

1) It is the responsability of pastors and elders to take care of the people.

2) Sickness may have entered into your life because of sin, and it may be that there is something that you must repent of. Search your life carefully, and be fully committed to serving Jesus with all that you have.

James 5:14-16 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

My next question has to be how do you stop being frightened of something?
You will stop being afraid of your pain when you are truly convinced that Jesus will save you and give you eternal life. When you begin to feel fear, remember that your pain cannot kill your soul; no pain, no person, no force on this earth can kill your soul.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Have peace and be strong in faith, sister. Jesus wants to heal you!

I hope you are feeling a little better - you have had excellent replies - it is great that you are searching for practical ways to apply God's Word to your life.

This scripture may really help you specifically with fear and I will try and show you how to pray it over your life:-

Isaiah 41:10 Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

Meditate on the scripture ...

Say, out loud if it helps, "I thank you Jesus that I need not be afraid because you are with me. I will not be dismayed, for you are my God. I thank you Jesus that you will strengthen me and help me. I believe you will uphold me with my victorious right hand. Thank you Jesus. Praise you Jesus .... praise the LORD!!! ..." ... think of what you can praise God for and thank Him for his gift of eternal life ...

Be determined, persevere - try to meditate on the scripture until it is so familiar that you can recall it whenever you feel fearful. On Sunday the Pastor at the church i attended said that when he had particularly bad fear he spoke Psalm 91 I think over his life for several days and then the fear went. In Christ Jesus we are more than conquerers. The fear is not from God - his word tells us that he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and a sound mind.

I think too it was good advice to confess any sin in your life to believers and ask God to forgive you, and also is there anyone you need to forgive?? If people have hurt you, let you down or offended you then be willing for forgive and pray to God about what happened and forgive them now.

I hope this helps - really i do and i'm glad you mentioned friendship - pm me anytime.

Finally, if you have any worship music this would be a great aid to focus your attention on God - it can be really uplifting, moving, peaceful and joyful and hopefully a great distraction from negative thoughts. I have a friend who has worship music or Christian tv channels on all night while she sleeps because it comforts her.

Thanks for all of the replies. I can't believe that people can be so kind to me.

LLJ - I am so grateful that you said that it took you a long time to let go of people and things that you were holding on to. I believe that you mean negative things here and if that is correct, I understand why you said that it took you a long time. I have a lot of 'baggage' in my life and I can't just get rid of it all in one moment - however nice that would be!!

In Christ's serf's post he wrote:

Well, as I have just said, there is a lot of baggage in my life - but this is all too difficult to deal with in one day!

Rachel too has mentioned confessing sin in my life. I see a common thread here, but this is such a BIG one for me to deal with at the moment.

Wow! I like this verse very much. Thank you Rachel also for the suggestion of words to say. I will write this out and put it by my bed as it is there, when the pain is at its worse, that I am most scared.



On a very practical note, can I please ask for prayer as I need to go to see the doctor this afternoon? I have afternoon appointments as that generally is when the pain is at its least. I do however find these appointments very difficult.

It is so awesome when different people post different scriptures that they find to encourage us here.

Yes dear sister it is the negative stuff that we need to get rid of. I used to be very negative but over time have developed a positive outlook. Trying to look for the positives in life.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

I like this scripture too.

Father I thank for the way sadeyes is learning and growing in You. I pray that as she goes to the doctors today that she will be different and know that You are indeed with her to hold her hand and that she will not find this visit so hard as she now knows You. I pray for a good report too and Your peace will be with her. The peace that only You give us that inner peace. I pray that she will be amazed at how good the visit will be today as a New creation in Jesus' name amen.

Do you want the good news or the bad news?

The good news is that the doctor was very pleased with me and said that she had never seen me looking so well (in comparison to how I normally look) so thank you all for your prayers.

The bad news is that I am very upset because I have come home absolutely exhausted and I need to go to bed. I feel so ill and I am so disappointed with myself. I just want to cry and cry and cry because I feel so ill.

You have done well going to the doctors and you are doing well in your walk with God. Do not be so hard on yourself. Rest.

Just trust.

John 14:1-3 Don't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Don't despair. My bible says that we need never despair because we belong to a loving God. We never know what good he will bring out of a seemingly hopeless situation.

God says that he will never leave nor forsake us which is why he sent us His Holy Spirit so that we will never be alone. Try having a deep inner conversation with God - and listen - listen ...

Don't dismiss what may seem at first to be quiet thoughts - they will give you hope - little by little -

We all hear thoughts from time to time which torment us - God NEVER does this. Likewise we may have doubts or worries - turn these into prayer.

Now, if you can, try caring for your body in a way that you love - let your Holy hands care for you - whether it be running a soothing bath, or using moisturising lotion. Sometimes i like different perfumes or scents on my skin - especially near my wrist. Sometimes being and feeling really clean can help us enjoy our bodies.

It may help you to let go of 'baggage' by knowing that you can absolutely trust God to take care of things, unresolved issues with other people. I have found it a great comfort to 'release' people to God in prayer - knowing that He knows about injustices and hurts in mine and other people's lives but only He knows the full picture. This doesn't mean letting people 'off the hook' - on the contrary - it releases people into God's hands - the Awesome, Mighty, Living God.

Dear Heavenly Father, please may Sadeyes know your comfort and peace. Strengthen her. Let her walk slowly and surely - please send your angels to guard her steps and comfort her by your Holy Spirit. Thank you God. In Jesus Name, Amen.

He cares - God cares deeply for your anguish.

When Scripture says, "Do not fear" or "Fear not", it means "Do not let fear take control." Fearful thoughts are bound to come, but you have been given Scripture verses to use as tools to counteract those feelings.

Thanks for the posts and thank you Rachel for saying that

I really don't feel that I am.

Tonight I feel as though I have fallen face-down in a pile of ****!

I feel very ill physically and I also feel broken spiritually.

Everything that I have learnt in these past few days just seems to have vanished as the pain has increased. Does that make me a total failure?

Lying in bed this evening, I realised that I was scared of God. I was scared to speak to him and to do in fact everything that people have advised me to do. I was scared of both his reaction to me and my reaction to him.

You say that God is saying to walk with him. I'm scared to do that even though I want to do that.

SLE - Please don't be cross with me just because I am a failure.

I was happy to see your good news.

You are not a failure. You are not the only one to think this way.

You may fail as we all do but we get back up again and keep on.

God loves you and wants to have fellowship with you.

Try and say to your pain ' Pain be gone in Jesus' name' I am a child of God and nothing will separate me from His love.

Hi Sister,

Don't think your a failure because we all go through those waves of passion with our walk on God's path. Some days we feel like we're on top of the world, but others we feel as though God has forgotten about us. This can be very discouraging, but during these times of downfall is when we must look for God even more (although it may take more effort on our behalf). The good news is that you are atempting to learn more about Jesus! Do you know there's a PARTY in heaven everytime one of us sinners gets saved for the first time??? How cool is that! God is looking down at you and smiling because of your passion Don't get discouraged. Be joyous that this is only the beginning of your knowledge and understanding!!! :star:

I only have a minute or so - do not withdraw from God. Search your heart and engage in honest prayer. Take every thought captive - which means when you get these fearful thoughts say 'no!' they are not the truth. God is love.

Just take a step at a time.

Hold on to the truth - Jesus.

- Thanks LLJ for this advice. I will try to say it, but I am even scared to say that, just in case it doesn't work. If it doesn't work, I will feel such rejection and I have major issues in my life with rejection, so I don't want any more. That may sound stupid to you, but that is my situation. In fact it sounds stupid to me to think that I am too scared to take the risk of rejection against the chance of healing. You must think that I am totally pathetic!!!!!!

The words of the song are really great. I just wish that that was my experience like it seems it is for everybody else on this forum.

Thank you Trulyblezzed that you think that God is looking down on me and smiling. That is such a nice thought. I sadly just feel so unworthy of being anywhere near him and I think that he must be very disappointed in me as I have failed so many times in my understanding of what I should be doing.
