I would offer. The washing of the word of God is the cleansing power, The born again power needed for salvation. The washing of all the doctrines of the Holy Spirit.

Using water in many forms rain, dew, small rain, showers, spit, sweat to represent newborn again growth .

This leads you to think that author is literally saying that God has armor.

- ενδυσασθε την πανοπλιαν του θεου

But the phrase του θεου ought to have been translated as the Objective Genitive.

= Put on the whole armour for ("concerning") God....

Hi Garee. Mankind can think that all it would like, but what they think it means is wrong. If my post (LINK HERE) is too complicated, the English phrase "the word of God" doesn't mean the Bible. The Greek word is Rhema, and this verse means that the Spirit is the Rhema of God (the understanding provided by a direct interaction with the voice of God).

The Sword of the Spirit is prayer.

But if people cannot read Greek, then they cannot understand this. And you left out the word "which." That doesn't help either - leaving out words,.
