Do Our Spirits Die?

and, can you please expand on, "There will be spirits existing in hell" ?

Bless you ....><>

By this I meant that we are (Spirit, Soul, and Body).

My understanding is that the Spirit is eternal, but perhaps when people go to hell
the spirit doesn't go with them and it returns to God in the same manner it was given as God breathed in Adam the breath of life?

Thank you @GodB4Us for the psalm 139, how God perceives us inside the womb.

There is information in the bible.
Regarding Jeremiah and John the Baptist.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. Luke 1:15
For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Luke 1:44

I think though with Jeremiah , God forknew him through His complete omniscent foreknowledge.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! ~ Psalm 139:16-17

Romans 9:
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

Between His foreknowledge and our members being written in His book before existing in the land of the living in our mother's womb, for Him to know us would suggest knowing our spirits before giving those spirits bodies in the womb.

How else can He dictate that the elder shall serve the younger in how Esau was to be to Jacob because He foreknew Esau would profane his birth right to give up his birth right for a meal?

I hope in Jesus Christ that I will not profane what He has done for me by engaging in iniquity that would deny Him for why He would deny me at the rapture event. I do not want to be left behind even though He would still be in me. I prefer the firstfruits of the resurrection to be like the angels that never die nor marry and more importantly, never sin against my Friend & the Father ever again.

Greetings,

for Him to know us would suggest knowing our spirits before giving those spirits bodies in the womb.

perhaps the notion of "our spirits" and "giving those spirits bodies" is something that may need some prayerful study and seeking the Lord about?

Do the Scriptures tell or teach such things?

Please take some time before responding.

I believe this has to do with God's foreknowledge in knowing everything including our spirits beforehand in giving those spirits bodies since He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Scripture use of the book regarding our existence does seem to testify what we will do in the land of the living; example, Jeremiah the prophet.

But since we prophesy in part and know in part, we shall know everything when we see Him face to face if our spirits had an actual initial existence before He gave us bodies which is a subject too deep for me.

I had a dream when I was a tot and Jesus showed me the book of what I would do if I went back to the land of the living, but I did not want to be separated from Him. I liked where I was. The book showed me my adult sins and I was grieved but my family and others in the would be futire needed me to back and they screamed all the more horribly because they knew I did not want to go as I was equally grieved of my adult sins against the Lord. He assured me that He will see what He can do ... and so I hope in Him to this day that He is helping me to abide in Him as well as be willing to go because I want to be of the firstfruits of the resurrection, His friend to never sin against Him again to be with Him forever.

Did I see that book of what I was to do in the land of the living in my future that Jesus had showed me? I did go astray in so many ways, by the infirmity in the flesh, by the world, by the compromising church, by religious yokes of bondages, but He delivered me out of them all and kept me from falling in serving the glory of those supernatural apostasy that is riddling our churches in these latter days. Instead, He is my Friend in helping me to serve Him & seek His glory. Amen.

Jesus Christ is helping me to hope in Him in following Him as His friend and also to be willing to go when He comes as the Bridegroom. I am so glad in the Lord that I hate this life down here.

I believe we can ask Jesus for His intervention to prevent the consequences of our shortcomings in the land of the living of what is written in that book.

I believe Him that He can do anything when we trust Him to as our Good Shepherd & Friend in helping us to follow Him as His friend.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hopefully I have answered your question even though I have digress and expounded on it in regards to that book of our existence in the land of the living as scripture hinted at & my dream as a tot seem to align with.
