Acts 2.38 is not the plan of salvation?

Pick one. There are so many more manuscripts available today, so much more since the KJV in 1611.
Well i used to rely on the 'scholars 'to tell me what the bible REALLY teaches . Until I realised God was more than capable to preserve his word , In English.

Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2:39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Still true today - still happening despite all the banter on Talk Jesus.

I rely upon scholars to inform me of what the manuscripts actually say, not what translators with agenda want to present. The Holy Spirit guides me in understanding the graphe. Which bings me to ask you another question: are the italicized words in your Bible God-breathed?

This is where the context of the whole chapter is forsaken for one verse sending the mind astray . Whos children ? Israel / Jews . Who afar off ? Israel/ Jews . Peter has no clue about the gentiles included until Cornelius.

Acts 11
18¶When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

19¶Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
10 years after Acts 2 its still Jews only .

John 4:22

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” The gentiles are granted later.
Context:

John 4: "19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

John 4:22

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” The gentiles are granted later.
Was Abraham a Jew? Was Abraham saved? How about Noah, or Seth? Jesus came to save anyone who puts their faith in HIM.

Ephesians 2:
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called the uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands—
12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near in the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility,
15 by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,
16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby bringing the hostility to an end.
17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near;
18 for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,
20 built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
21 in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
22 in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of the Christ, Jesus, in behalf of you nations,-
2 if so that ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God *given me toward you;
3 how that by revelation was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote afore in few words,
4 whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of the Christ;
5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men as it hath now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in Spirit:
6 that the nations are fellow-heirs, and fellow-bodied and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

Sovereign God Almighty chose Abraham to bless all nations/ethnos, and through Abraham God promised all nations would be blessed. God is not slack concerning HIS promises. 2 Peter 3:9. When the mission God gave Abraham was frustrated by Israel's idolatry and stubbornness, God became human to ensure the LIGHT that saves would indeed go out to all nations. Blessings.

Of the Jews or for the Jews
Mat 10
5¶These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mat 10

Amen. JESUS sent his disciples to provoke the Jews into being that which God purposed them to be from the beginning: a LIGHT to the nations.

Acts 2:28-39 is the way
and we read of this throughout the book of Acts
and we read of this again throughout the epistles
and Jesus himself indicated that this would be the way in the gospels
and today throughout the world people are becoming born new again Christians by water and Spirit by believing in Acts 2:38

a simple direct question does this verse say of the Jews or for the Jews ?

Mat 10

6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
