Parable of the Wheat and the Tares

Member
Notice: Jesus does not mention the wheat here because they are already gone, but the weeds are NOW being burned, and that will be at the end of the “age” (world), but not so for his Church!!

There is today a gathering (bundling) together of the weeds (children of the devil) to be burned in the days after which the Church is gone.
Did you notice? "The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels."
Blows a hole in pre-trib!

I was wondering. It says it happened when men slept.

Exactly. Many who are in charge of the the fields today are asleep. Many church leaders are asleep. They allow false teachings, false prophets and false doctrines (tares) in the church.

Matt 13:25; "But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away.

Who are "his men"? It's us. The church.

To some degree - I disagree! Here's why. Verses in question...

Matt 13:25 "The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away.

I believe this refers to Christians not being actively involved in preaching the gospel "in the world." This doesn't pertain to false teachings, false prophets, or false doctrines in the church.

Jesus explains the parable of the wheat and tares to his disciples. He said that the good seed is the Son of man, (gospel) the field is the world, (kosmos - the entire planet) the good seed IS children of God, (believers - witnesses) and the tares are the children of the wicked one, the harvest is the end of the world, the reapers are the angels, etc.

This parable is more about the spiritual condition of the world - at the end of the age. I don't see that it has anything to do with false prophets, false teachers, or false doctrine in the church. It has to do with them "in the world!"

I find it just a bit peculiar how people like to demonize their own church.

V. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: (aion - age) the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
