The 7 Trumpets in Revelation are the Tribulation. Trumpets are loud as the Tribulation will be. Whereas the 7th Trumpet with its 7 Bowls of Wrath are larger than cups, poured silently, because so much happens so quickly as if time stands still in the last trumpet of the 7 year Tribulation, this being Daniel's final seven -- the 70th seven of Daniel's prophecy. The 70th seven (which hasn't happened yet because Dan. 9.24 is unfulfilled) encompasses the parousia of Christ from the first rapture "before the throne" (Rev. 7.9) in 3rd heaven to meeting the Lord in the air (1 Thess. 4.14-18) at the last trumpet (cf. 1 Cor. 15.23,50-52) to Jesus stepping down on the mount of olives (Zech. 14.4, Acts 1.11, Rev. 1.7) at the end of the 2,520 days of the Tribulation (7 years x 360 Jewish calendar days). Note: the rapture before the throne for Christians who are prayerful and watchful is before the 1st trumpet is blown (8.7).

We are told to look for signs before Jesus' 2nd coming. Before the first trumpet is blow 3 things happen in very precise order (Rev. 6.12):

1) Great earthquake. We know in 2010 Haiti experienced an earthquake where 320,000 people died which is the 2nd most deaths of any earthquake recorded in human history. In 2011 Japan had an earthquake that was the 4th greatest in magnitude ever recorded anywhere on planet earth. Back to back, year over year, this has never happened before. It was a first for the record books. Truly this is a great earthquake that meets the criteria.

2) Black sackcloth sun. There are 4 kinds of solar eclipses. The rarest is the Hybrid occurring 5% of the time. And there are 3 kinds of hybrids of which the H3 is the rarest occurring 5% of that 5%. The H3 completes itself as total eclipse to produce that black sackcloth effect. They are even more rare according to NASA when they last 1 minute and 30 seconds or more. Just such a solar eclipse occurred on Nov. 3, 2013. It was the 4th since Christ and won't happen again till 2172.

3) Red blood moon. NASA records red blood moons as Tetrads when there are two in a single year then two the following year. There were no Tetrads in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. They are even more rare when they land on the 1st feast of Passover and the 7th feast of Tabernacles and again the following year. This is called a Total Lunar Tetrad or Feast Tetrad. The 6th time this happened since Christ was 1949/50. Israel became a nation May 14, 1948. The Armistice treaty was signed 1949. The 7th since Christ was 1967/68 when Israel reclaimed Jerusalem on June 7, 1967. The 8th is 2014/15 when the construction of the 3rd Temple is coming into view. And it won't happen again till 2582/83 but has no unique solar eclipse attached to it at that time, so the time is now.

At the end of the Tribulation will be the "sign of the Son of Man" (Matt. 24.30) in the year Jesus steps down on the mount of olives. This would occur a few months before He steps down. One thing in church history is we have never been able to find a convincing sign of the Son of Man until now. On April 13, 2029 asteroid Apophis will come within 25,000 miles of earth which is satellite distance range and most definitely will interrupt some satellite communications. This asteroid is about 3 football fields in length. The last time an asteroid of this size hit earth was about 80,000 years ago. If it entered our atmosphere it would kill tens of millions of people. There will be much fanfare surrounding this event preceding Christ's return.

The temple in Brazil took 4 years to build at a cost of $300 million. Therefore, the Tribulation 2022-29 would require the 3rd Temple be completed by Passover so that there would be 2300 days (Dan. 8.14) from Passover 2023 to Tisha B'Av 2029. Construction must begin no later than 2020. Look for this sign that draws you to Christ.

After the 2014/15 Tetrad there will be 7 years of plenty (due to extremely low interest rates). Joseph was told that there would be seven years of abundance to prepare Egypt for the seven years of famine that would follow (Gen. 41.25-49). This is a prophetic type of a seven year period of abundance that will precede the Tribulation as a time for the Church and Israel to prepare. This principal of Divine warning to make preparation for a specified period of tribulation is seen in other Biblical examples, upon request.

Every 7 out of 19 years, there are 2,520 days from Feast of Trumpets to Tisha B'Av. The other 12 out of 19 years there are 1260 + 1290 days from Feast of Trumpets to Day of Atonement. 2015-22 meets the 2,520 days, and the 2022-29 matches the 2,550 days.

" If therefore thou shalt not watch...thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee" (Rev. 3.3). So the reason you may not perceive this when Jesus returns is because why? Not being a watchful "repentant" Christian (v.3a).

I am sure that there are those who think they know but I have no way of knowing. The final key is the actual return of Christ, for which, he says we don't know.
I think when they start building the final temple in Jerusalem, you better start packing your bags!

You certainly won't know if you mistakenly assume you have no way of knowing. The key to knowing when Jesus returns is not Jesus returned, for by then He has already returned though many still reject Him. Satan says you can't know. God says you can know (Rev. 3.3). What are the negative consequences of not knowing? Firstly, you can't know unless you are watchful, so if you are not watchful that precludes you from knowing. Secondly, by not even striving know as He desires, you preclude yourself from the benefits of knowing and the reward that follows for being watchful. Thirdly, to say you can't know automatically makes you unwatchful, and to be unwatchful will receive discipline and loss of rewards both for the first rapture and to return with Christ to reign. Fourth, you can be watchful yet not know when Jesus returns, for you may have not studied enough to know when He returns, but at least you would not lose the reward in that case.

I will respectfully leave all that up to Christ and not your understanding. You, with all your knowledge can't tell me for sure or perfectly and you, piously, wrongly assume who I am and what I know! You don't know me! You can study all you want and you still don't know for sure, not perfectly as he does. God has omniscent and omnipotent plans for us. And you can only look in a mirror of imperfection dimly. I have the peace of the Lord in me and knowing by faith. I beleive and do some studying of end time prophect but what ever happens or whenever it happens he is totally in control and I feel safe and have hope in him. Thank you kindly!

I am ready and waiting for what ever comes first, which will probably be my death. I think if you are truly ready for that, you are ready for anything!

. . . . The key to knowing when Jesus returns is . . . .

When you see Him coming on the clouds - just as the believers in Acts saw Him depart. (Acts 1:11)

. . . not Jesus returned, for by then He has already returned though many still reject Him. . . .

When He has already returned, there will be no one who rejects Him. Every knee will bow and acknowledge Him as Lord.

The rest of your post is your own logic to support your position of a scenario you've convinced yourself is the only one possible. None of which is supported by scripture.

This is not a knowing just before he returns but years in advance. Many still will reject Him. That's why He must reign with a rod of iron in the millennium. Every knee bowing does not necessitate they believe on that He is in control. Basically everything you said was either a misinterpretation or your own lack of understanding. What has been given was fully supported in Scripture.

Wow, Jesus said : Matthew 24: 35-37, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away. 36But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah."

Let me get this straight.....Jesus said that no one knows, the Angels don't know, even he doesn't know but you do?
I respectfully think I will move on , I am done with this because I have heard all I want on this thread.

You misread Jesus. Jesus says nobody knows when the earth passes away. When Jesus returns the earth doesn't pass away, but He reigns on earth for 1000 years, only after which time does the earth pass away. "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (v.37). It says "But..." not "For..." Verse 37 goes back to talking about the return of Jesus after the interjection of vv.35-36 explaining nobody knows when the earth will end.

Don't walk away from your misreading of Scripture but repent. Pray on this as I pray for your understanding.

This is false and certainly unscriptural. First, there is nothing in Scripture to support this at all. Secondly, Jesus made it very clear.

Matthew 25:13
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."

Read the entire The Parable of the Ten Virgins in context.

No One Knows That Day and Hour

Matthew 24:36-44

36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

It's important to make sure we do not twist His word around. There's serious consequences for that.

Revelation 22:19
And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

Some threads should just be left alone to die. This is one of them. I wish you, gracedfaith, would start at the beginning of your journey in Jesus to understand what it is you have. Trying to set a date is pointless and an exercise filled with danger.

“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. (Matt 24:32)
Did you know that in the scripture there are only two seasons? Summer and Winter. If you set a date of either "summer" or "winter" you have a 50/50 chance of being right? Think on it.

Revelation 22:19

Rev. 3.3 is very clear, "If therefore thou shalt not watch...thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee." So the reason why someone doesn't know when Jesus returns is because they are not watchful. Not everyone who is watchful knows because not everyone has fully studied when Jesus returns, but certainly, to know, you must be watchful. When will Jesus return? After the 2014/15 Tetrad in Rev. 6.12 and after the 3rd Temple is completed, and in the year of the "sign of the Son of Man" (Matt. 24.30). We know when the sign of the Son of Man is. Very simple really. You mustn't read Matt. 25.13 out of context.

"[Mat 25:8-13 KJV] 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The unwise virgins were not watchful so they did not know the day nor the hour of when Jesus returns. Therefore, they are told to be watchful so they can know. Being watchful is the consistent feature of knowing when Jesus returns.

Also, we shouldn't misread Matt. 24.35,36. "[Mat 24:35-36 KJV] 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." This passage is not talking about when Jesus returns but the end of the earth. When Jesus returns He reigns on earth for 1000 years. Only after that does the earth end. Nobody knows when the earth ends, but we do know when Jesus returns in 2029 after the sign of the Son of Man.

Matt. 24.39 "People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes."

This doesn't mean all people don't know, just those who are partying and carrying on about the cares of the world.

At the time of writing Matt. 24.42 around 40 AD "you don’t know what day your Lord is coming," they did not have the tools to know when Jesus returns, but we do know when Jesus returns now because of Rev. 6.12 and the 2014/15 Tetrad as well as the "sign of the Son of Man" in Matt. 24.30 which takes place in 2029.

So for those in verse 44 "You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected" the best they can do is be ready because they don't know about the Tetrad 2014/15 or the sign of the Son of Man.

Consider Rev. 22.18, "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book."

Don't add the statement "You can't know when Jesus returns" as being true of everyone. While it is true of some people, not everyone! Let us not be overly legalistic, constricting passages to your own bias.

You shouldn't set dates, but just receive the date God gives. For example, we knew there were 193,880 days from the declaration to rebuild Jerusalem to when the Messiah would be cut off. The sign of the Son of Man is in 2029. Necessarily it must be after the 2014/15 Tetrad of Rev. 6.12. Without having Jesus you couldn't appreciate this. The point of accepting when Jesus returns will strengthen your spirit to know His return is nearer than ever before. I am getting very excited, how about you?

Matt. 24.32 doesn't say there are only 2 seasons (Read Rev. 22.18). The summer points to the millennial kingdom. "In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door" (v.33). His return is right at the door once Israel represented by the fig tree (Israel is seen in Matt. 24.4-32) starts showing its branches are tender, so His return is within a lifetime since Israel became a nation again. We are expected to live 70 years and with strength to 80 years (Ps. 90.10). 80+1948=2028 give or take a year if you choose 1949 as the Armistice treaty and the 6th Tetrad 1949/50. Ezekiel's prophecy on his side takes us to the month of May, 1948.

God sets dates so don't reject the dates He sets which is taking away from the word of God (Rev. 22.19).

No @gracedfaith

No one knows the hour. You're misinterpreting Revelation, and Scripture. You claim it's the year 2029. That's nonsense and you have no biblical proof. Furthermore, you're wasting your time and everyone else's time on something that is not the core focus on what we as saints and servants should be doing. Spreading the Gospel. Not fictitious claims about Christ returning in the year 2029.

QUOTE="gracedfaith, post: 249271, member: 29814"]shalt not watch...thou shalt not know[/QUOTE]
You are really mis-informed and mis-guided.
1. If you are a true "Born Again" Christian and still alive when he returns, believe me, you will know what's going on.
2. But being able to predict the day and year is advance is not Biblical and is"horse-hocky".
3. Since you, or what ever cult you belong to are so bold and skilled to predict the year, I believe you said 2029, why haven't you so boldly predicted the hour?
4. To watch and to know is to be Christian and know what's going on...it's the non-believer who will be in denial and totally lost.
5. Since, you say you are a "true" Born Again Christian, I tell you what hour and day you should know!!!!...it is the hour and day that Jesus enetered your body and you were born again.
6, Do you know or remember the day and hour you were saved, are you a true Christian?......I know and I am confident that I am Christian!

This sums it up very clearly from biblestudytools.com

remember . . . how you have received
The church at Sardis is given a command similar to that of the Ephesian church: to remember what they had earlier received and practiced. Inattention had played a significant part in their drift away from life toward death (Heb. Heb. 2:1).

hold fast
τήρει [tērei] , a present tense imperative: “continually hold fast!” Like those who would be blessed by “the words of this prophecy” (Rev. Rev. 1:3+), the church at Sardis would need to actively keep the things they had heard.

repent
See commentary on μετανοια [metanoia] at Revelation 2:5.

if you will not watch
Christians are to watch: (1) for Christ; (2) themselves lest they drift; (3) others lest false brethren or teachers pervert what they have received. Here the emphasis is upon watching for Christ (Mtt. Mat. 24:42; Mat. 25:13; Mark Mark 13:33, Mark 13:35; Mark Mark 13:37; Luke Luke 12:36-40; Luke 21:36; 1Cor. 1Cor. 1:7; 1Cor. 16:13; Php. Php. 3:20; 1Th. 1Th. 1:10; 1Th. 5:6; 2Ti. 2Ti. 4:8; Tit. Tit. 2:13; Heb. Heb. 9:28; 2Pe. 2Pe. 3:12; Rev. Rev. 3:2-3+; Rev. Rev. 16:15+).

as a thief, and you will not know what hour
Coming as a thief always denotes an unexpected coming in judgment because a thief comes to rob and destroy. Christ is never said to come for His church as a thief. “The first phase of the Lord’s coming is as a bridegroom and the second phase is as a thief. He does not come upon His bride as a thief and He does not come upon the apostates and unregenerate world as a bridegroom.”1 Here, the phrase would remind the Sardian church of the historical fall of the city (see commentary on Revelation 3:1):
The city had been captured twice in its history, once in 549 B.C. by Cyrus of Persia and again in 195 B.C. by Antiochus the Great, while its inhabitants were indifferently resting in its supposed impregnability. Would Christians there allow the same to happen to them at the hands of one whom they had made their spiritual opponent?2

Some believe the immediate context of the letter argues for understanding this threat as pertaining to a localized spiritual coming in judgment:
The context of Rev. Rev. 3:3+ requires that the term “like a thief in the night” does not here refer to the rapture, but rather to Christ coming in judgment like that threatened to the church at Ephesus (Rev. Rev. 2:5+), for this coming can be averted by repentance, but that cannot apply to the rapture. Here the “thief” aspect is a reminder drawn from the embarrassing history of the city.3

At a time when the Sardian church least expected Him, judgment would fall on the local assembly. Yet even here when a local application appears in view, we find Scripture teaching a general principle which will apply at the time of the end. “The threat here is not related to His second coming, but is that the Lord would come and destroy the Sardis church if there is no revival. It can also be extrapolated into a warning of the judgment that faces all dead churches at Christ’s return.”4 There are indicators that the coming could be eschatological: “In other alleged cases of Christ’s coming for special judgment (cf. Rev. Rev. 2:5+, Rev. 2:16+, Rev. 2:22-23+), consequences are explicitly stated, but here no such penal result is given. Apparently it is understood to be Christ’s punishment of disloyalty at His second advent.”5 Elsewhere, Scripture relates that the Day of the Lord will come in a similar manner:
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. (1Th. 1Th. 5:2-10) [emphasis added]

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2Pe. 2Pe. 3:10) [emphasis added]

On the Day of the Lord, Jesus comes as a thief in judgment upon an unsuspecting world:
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. (Mtt. Mat. 24:37-44)6 [emphasis added]

Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: ‘Watch!’ (Mark Mark 13:33-37)

Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. (Luke Luke 12:35-40)7 [emphasis added]

“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” (Rev. Rev. 16:15+) [emphasis added]

Christ’s coming as a thief has no reference to His coming for the church at the rapture. His thief-like coming occurs at the day of the Lord. Since Paul tells the Thessalonians they were well acquainted with the prophetic truth concerning the day of the Lord, this day is not to be identified with the Rapture, about which Paul did need to write to clarify their understanding. The day of the Lord begins with the Great Tribulation, and ends with the close of the Millennium. Those who shall “not escape” (1Th. 1Th. 5:3) are those who are not brethren, who fail to watch and pray (Luke Luke 21:36), are not counted worthy to escape, and therefore go on into the tribulation period.8

Paul said much the same thing to the Thessalonian church as Jesus says here to the church at Sardis—to the faithful who remain watching, Christ will not come as a thief:
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do , but let us watch and be sober. (1Th. 1Th. 5:2-6) [emphasis added]

will not
The negation here is with οὐ μέ [ou me] , the strongest possible form of negation in Koine Greek.9 No matter the resolve, awareness, or intelligence of those who fail to continuously watch, they will be spiritually deceived and will not know the time.

Dispensationalism has taught that the Pre-Tribulation rapture could happen any time.

Matthew 24: 29-30 ties the return of Christ to the end of the tribulation. It says "immediately after the tribulation...then shall appear the Son of man..." Trying to determine the exact length of the tribulation from Daniel 9: 27 makes little sense if you don't know what the tribulation is, and could not identify it when it comes into existence. That could be whats happening even now. We may be in a beginning part of the tribulation, the indignation of Isaiah 26: 20, the threshing floor of Jeremiah 51: 33, the valley of decision of Joel 3: 13-15 and the tribulation of Matthew 24: 29-30. And the tribulation may not last seven years or three and a half years, but longer.
