Dear Friends in Jesus
I have been a Seventh-day Adventist Christian for sixty years, Faithfully observing the Sabbath on Saturday. Now I have learned that during the time of Jesus the Jews did not know anything at all about a Friday-Saturday-Sunday week day as observed by the Romans, Egyptians, and Pagans, but their Sabbath day was a lunar event occurring every seventh day following the moon. Now my question is, Why do Christians think that Christ was resurrected on Sunday, when Sunday was not the first day of the week then. Before the emperor Constintine ordered that Sunday become the first day of the week in 321 AD the first day was Saturday; but the Jews didn't know anything about this--they did not follow the Roman week which if they did, then Friday would be the seventh day. This might not sound like a big deal to most Christians, but as a Sabbatarian, it is a big deal to me, and I would like some serious answers if anyone cares to comment. Thank you and God bless the study of His word.
