Who is the Holy Spirit

am In-depth study in getting to know the first persons of the Godhead, and the root name Trinity where it came from?

John 7:39 (KJV
) (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

doses this means that a person must glorify Christ first to reive the Holy Ghost?

John 14:17 (KJV) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

And if you receive the Holy Spirit how will you greet the Spirit after glorifying Christ first, or chosen by the Lord
be careful in how one speaks of the Holy Spirit

Isaiah 6:5-7 (KJV) Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

Isaiah 6: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

The NT outlines the giving of the Holy Spirit to those disciples who believed the word of God
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, all were together in the one place.
2 And suddenly a sound came from heaven as of a mighty wind rushing, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 And tongues as if of fire being distributed appeared to them; and it sat upon each of them.
4 And all were filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 10:42 And he [Jesus] charged us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is he ordained of God as Judge of living and dead.
43 To him all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth unto him receiveth remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all that heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, who came with Peter, because that on the nations also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can anyone forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then asked they him to tarry certain days.

The Holy Spirit is the presence and truth and power of God dwelling within me -
giving me first a wonderful prayer language in the Spirit > praying in tongues
miracles and healings,
truth and knowledge,
gifts to the saints in the body of Christ
the power to overcome sin and the carnal self,
the power to endure and be victorious in Christ Jesus.

Yes because the Holy Spirit is a person of Feelings, the Spirit feels
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and can give joy and peace to the Spirit-filled Christian.
But mostly the Holy Spirit makes a Spirit-filled Christian God conscious and gives us a personal relationship with God (the Father and the Son).
Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Hello @TheWordIsOne,

The word 'Glorification' in John 7:39 refers to Christ's ascension: and the words, ' ... the promise of the Holy Ghost ... ', refer to the ' ... power from on high ... ' that would flow from Him:-

'This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted,
and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost,
He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.'
(Act 2:32-33)

Hello @TheWordIsOne,

The Holy Spirit searches what is the mind of the spirit within me (Romans 8:27) and knows before I speak what I have need of. He prays for me with words that cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). Knowing my need, He is able to supply that need, and does. He brings of the things of Christ and makes them mine, as I read God's Word, for it is His means of communicating with me, and of washing me from the build up of the world and it's ways that I have accumulated by simply living every day. He chastens me, and quickens me, comforts me, and assures me of the love of God in Christ Jesus.

I Praise God for His unspeakable gift.
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Faith, Hope and Experience were walking along a wall,
Hope was fine as long as he kept his eyes on Faith,
But when he turned to look at Experience
He fell off the wall, along with Experience,
But Faith went walking on.

Hello @TheWordIsOne,

* Our experience is tainted by so many things, and 'feelings' are just one of them. Feelings are fickle and unreliable, but faith is sure. 'Our hope is fixed on nothing less that Jesus blood and righteousness.'

Thank you

I'd submit that the Holy Spirit is the Father.

The Holy Spirit is my conscience that convicts and unsettles my heart gently when I'm going astray. He is the one whom my sin grieves for I feel His pain when I sin.

The Holy Spirit is my messenger of Good News and Discernment, helping me know the things which are spiritual, both warning me and encouraging.

The Holy Spirit is my friend whom I often neglect because I don't spend as much time in praise and worship and prayer as I should.

Sure have a whole lot of teachers, So many they have taken GOD's place on teaching about Himself. Gives us about two more years God will be out of business for everybody has taken "Tenure".

It is some strange creatures walking land planet earth: Beware of Earthling.

New International Version (Jeremiah)
No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

And today:
John 6:45
It is written in the Prophets: 'And they will all be taught BY GOD.' Everyone who :eyes: has heard the Father AND :eyes:learned :eyes:from Him comes to Me--

And that "ALL" means "WE". All of We. And that is not "Chinese". "All of We"

Note: I better keep quiet. because if you only knew. I am a "Trinitarian" too. May i say: is it "Who is The Holy Spirit" or is it "What is The HOLY SPIRIT"?
I am going to get in trouble. "Who What and WHY" My mother and father got me a set of those books before Grammar school. I know many of you have had those set of books too, back in the early 50's. Those three words will get you into a lot trouble.

Who is
What is
Why is

and is it a "it" or person or a "thing" we all ready know it is "GOD" and we know it is everywhere and "it" can remove itself. and "It" will not dwell in a "UNCLEAN Vessel. :eyes:

The Title of This thread is "WHO is The Holy SPIRIT" now that is asking a question.

Who
What
And why is a option may i address to the Author of This Thread to be considered. by his permission.

This is maybe why
Hebrews 5:11 (NKJV)
of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.

1 Corinthians 3:2-3 (NKJV) I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV) For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
1For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Galatians 3:24-26 (NKJV) Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
