Brother sosrya31 at your young tender age of 18 I know the pains well in this area when i was as young! And make no mistake about this either,it is not just males who struggle against this!! Here is what we know bro,and I will let you decide! Gal 5:17-21 I used to look to lie to myself about allowing myself this ah so called freedom. The problem we find out, and I am sure this is why you ask the question, that there has become more of a need to do this, then there used to be at the start of this.
The flesh brother is never full in and of itself,it is very much like a roaring lion who seems always hungry, even after it has been fed.The action which really seems to be a genuine need at the time, turns into condemnation. I have found the reason for this brother,is that every time we look unto our own flesh to satisfy our need,it only does so for a short time. We entertain the thought of doing far to long which always leads to the action associated with it.( 2 Cor 10:4-9!!!)
And we come to find brother that this desire in the flesh becomes a very large fortress in our mindset! We look to reason this as like a pimple on our face, and when we pop it,we feel so much better. But this pimple is far different brother,as you are finding out. What helped me greatly was when the temptation arises in the mindset,we quickly replace this temptation with scripture, even speaking a scripture out loud!
To prove a point to you,in your mind count from 1-20 after you get to about 5 or six, speak out loud your name! You lose count! By doing this you arrest the fortress from overcoming your mindset, and consider Phil 4:7-8 instead.( just an example of focusing ones mind upon something other then what your flesh desires.) We are a work in progress my brother, ( Phil 1:6) It will indeed take strong discipline, or what I call self control, part of the fruit of the Spirit!( Gal 5:22-25) verse 23! May this give you comfort from the pain of adulthood, and remain in peace upon this lasting truth, which has caused me and so many to be able to overcome against such a Goliath! The Word of God is not only to be read, but also spoken!! Ask Jesus when he himself was tested!!( Matt 4:1-11!!!) Blessing to you!
