Gibberish. What fiction book do you get this from? Not biblical.

Death always comes from God. Death should not be feared as God should not be feared. Death serves God afterall. Death is only like a door, it is a sort of baptism from the life you lived on earth to the life you will live with God. That is, if you have Love. Without Love, there is nothing. Love is a word we misunderstand. God is Love. When you love, deeply in your heart, God is present.

It is the one thing Satan rejected, Love aka God. It is the only reason Satan can never reenter heaven.

Without Love, your faith is like a gong clanging in the wind

I hate to tell you this, there is no reincarnation. That is Hindu thinking.

I realize with so many various cultures and characters who will claim all sorts of things. Finding the Truth may seem difficult.

There is a difference in Christianity that all other religions fail. Jesus is real. His being on the planet was witnessed by many. And the proof of the pudding, Jesus being God. Is alive today. You dont need to be a Christian to experience Jesus. But if you are sincere in you heart, He will come to you. You will have no doubts in your mind when He comes.

Hello @Torchbearer33,

The Bible makes it clear that death is not 'a good thing'. It is called 'the last enemy'. because it will be the last enemy to be destroyed at the judgement of the last day.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, gives resurrection life to those who believe in the efficacy of the sacrificial work of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on their behalf. For in doing so they are acknowledging that He died in their place, bearing the penalty for their sin upon Himself, in order that they may live.

'But these are written,
that ye might believe
that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God;
and that believing
ye might have life
through His name.'

(John 20:31)

'If we receive the witness of men,
the witness of God is greater:
for this is the witness of God
which He hath testified of His Son.
He that believeth on the Son of God
hath the witness in Himself:

he that believeth not God
hath made Him a liar;
because he believeth not
the record that God gave of His Son.
And this is the record,
that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son.
He that hath the Son
hath life;
and he that hath not the Son of God
hath not life.

(1 John 5:9-12)

May God's will be done in you,
for His Name and glory's sake.

So you believe in re-incarnation? We just go through life over and over again?

Heb 9:27; And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

-Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. It's not a good thing. Christ gives us the opportunity for release from the endless cycle of death and rebirth. As does Buddha. It may be that when a person dies as a Christian, it means they've reached their last incarnation.

-There's a difference between your soul and your body. The person you are--your name, height, weight, etc--is not your soul. Obviously, the body will die once, as God says, and that personality will face judgement. But the soul is immortal. It will leave the body when it dies, and go on somewhere else, being slightly more evolved as a result of having passed through you. All soul is the same. From the same source. And it will all connect back together, in the end. It takes many different paths to get there. Christ may be the final doorway at the end that leads back to the LORD.

-We are all in the body of Christ. Christ never dies. So how can we?

-..."men to die once..." ...what about women? Is this one of those cases where the word "men" is also supposed to stand for women, as well? God is usually pretty specific when it comes to the rules as they apply for men and women respectively, isn't he?

-Do you think there is a difference between a person who is raised as a Christian, and a person who is a born again Christian? I do. "Born again." God doesn't mince His words. His words aren't allegories or parables. They're true, it's just that often, there is no word in the English language capable of conceptualizing what He's talking about. So, how can a person be "born again" without having already lived and died once?

Gibberish. What fiction book do you get this from? Not biblical.

I assume you're talking about the doctrine of reincarnation? And by 'fiction book,' you mean the revelatory works of Hinduism and Buddhism? For an adherent of one religion's holy book to call another religion's holy book a 'work of fiction' is a case of 'the pot calling the kettle black.' Religious people should be the first to understand the nature of revelation and accept to accept the testimonies and beliefs of other religions. Not to do so reveals that you don't really understand where scripture comes from. There is one God, many names. Omnipotent, omnipresent. God speaks to everyone, all peoples. Do you believe that God is the kind of Guy to trick billions of innocent people into an erroneous set of beliefs so that he can have the fun of burning them eternally in hell?

Death always comes from God. Death should not be feared as God should not be feared. Death serves God afterall. I agree that the most important thing is the way you treat people: with love, or without. More important than faith. You don't necessarily have to be a Christian to be allowed into heaven. There are many rooms in God's mansion. It comes down to how you treat people.

Buddha was also real. As was Moses. And Mohammed. These other religions don't fail in this account. If they weren't real, their religions never would have survived.
In fact, as the case may be, Christians are probably the hardest pressed of them all to prove Jesus ever even existed. The fact that there are so many other myths that existed well before Jesus that contain all the exact same elements of the Christ drama makes it seem as though somebody took them all and put them together and made Jesus Christ up. But he most certainly did live, die, and was resurrected, as the New Testament says. The thing is, though, unlike the other prophets, after Jesus rose into heaven, all trace of his earthly incarnation vanished. His facticity was removed from history, leaving only the effects of his legacy, in order that his body may be a gateway for the holy spirit to flow through to the rest of us.

Hello @Torchbearer33,

The Bible makes it clear that death is not 'a good thing'. It is called 'the last enemy'. because it will be the last enemy to be destroyed at the judgement of the last day.

-If death is the last, then who are the other enemies? The devil is presumably one. Any others? And when He says "death," does He mean His death, or our deaths? Or does he mean 'Death,' as in, like, the grim reaper? OR, is 'death,' as referred to in the Bible, a combination of all these meanings?

Seeing as though death will be the last enemy defeated, and therefore the devil will be defeated before death is, could it be that God will use death to defeat the devil, and that's why we have to die in the first place? All the accumulated individual deaths that we humans have may provide the weapon God needs to defeat the devil. Therefore death is a good thing.

-Everything that God does is good. God isn't capable of doing anything bad. God is the one who brings death. Therefore death is good.

-Was it Jesus who taught us to love our enemies as we do each other? How can you love something that isn't good? There must be something good that our enemies have that is lovable in them. And everything that is good comes from God.

-When you die, you get to go heaven. How could that be a bad thing?

@Torchbearer33 -- Jesus taught that we are to love the Lord your God with all your, heart, soul and mind and then our neighbor as ourselves. And we are to forgive others as God has forgiven us. "Hate" has no place in the Christians / believer's life. We are to realize that our 'enemy' has a soul that need God's salvation.

Regarding # 52 -- for one thing -- the born-again believer has the Holy Spirit indwelling them. That will be apparent in that they will exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. Jesus Christ told His disciples that He must ascend back up to His Father in heaven So that the Holy Spirit can come to each believer. Up until then -- Jesus Christ could only be one place at a time. So it would be to their advantage for the Holy Spirit to come. Which He did on the day of Pentecost in Acts.

Romans -- For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord.

Regarding being born Again. We're all born physically but with a sinful nature -- book of John talks about the need for the 2nd birth -- born-again Spiritually. After living This life -- there is physical death and then eternity. Being born Spiritually enables a person to be immediately with Christ upon their death or the rapture taking place.

The devil / satan / will be defeated and put in the lake of fire and brimstone for all eternity.

Death is the transition from This life to eternity. For the born-again believer it will be with Christ. For non-believers it will be a transition to hell and then the lake of fire and brimstone.

I'm thinking that one of the 'things' that brings up the possibility of previous lives of people are programs that feature kids / adults who have 'memories' of previous lives. Sometimes these 'memories' are brought up through hypnosis. and some people dream very vividly. I used to do that -- I'd have read books, watched movies, etc. and all of a sudden I'd have very vivid dreams about all of them mixed together. And children have very vivid imaginations, they like to please adults. And people who in to yoga are taught to relax completely -- free their minds -- but an Empty mind is never 'empty' for long. "Other" thoughts can enter in and mess a person up.

Hypnosis is fine for certain things -- but it can be dangerous as well. People who've experienced horrible accidents / war-time problems can sometimes be helped to Forget the horrible or to Remember so they can deal with / resolve problems.

Hello @Torchbearer,

Good questions. :smile:

I can't honestly tell you what or who the other enemies are, ( I shall have to look into that ) but we know that they will all be put under Jesus feet.

'Then cometh the end,
when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father;
when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.'

(1 Cor. 15:24-26)

* Death will cease. The Lord has already destroyed the works of the Devil,

'He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil.'

( 1 John 3:8)

* Satan still has a part to play in the purpose of God, but Satan knows that his time is limited.
* Death is a consequence of sin.

'Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:'

(Rom 5:12)

* If the Bible speaks of death as an enemy, then it cannot be a good thing.

* When we die the Bible says that our body goes back to the dust from whence it came, but that the spirit (or breath of life) goes back to God Who gave it. (Eccl.12:7)

* 'The soul that sinneth it shall surely die' we are told (Ezek.18:4 & 20): so the soul (or the whole man) is not immortal. The body energized by the spirit (or the breath of life) becomes a living soul (Gen.2:7), but when the breath of life (spirit) leaves the body at death, then it becomes a dead soul. Only the power of the resurrection can raise the dead to life again, only resurrection power can make mortal man immortal and change his mortal body into one that is incorruptible (1 Cor. 15:53). This does not happen at death, but at the resurrection.

* The dead in Christ are referred to as being, 'asleep in Christ (1 Cor.15:18)', because death has no dominion over them, and they have the hope of resurrection life, which the dead outside of Christ do not have. The believers life is hid with Christ in God. (Col.3:3)

* There is only One Who has immortality, and that is Christ Himself, (1 Tim.6;16)

'And no man hath ascended up to heaven,
but He that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven.'

(John 3:13)

Praise His Holy Name!

What verifiable evidence is there that any afterlife exists and that when we die we move on instead of staying dead, which I believe to be the most likely outcome?

The answer to your question would require a separate thread on the verification evidence from NDEs and ADCs (near-death experiences and after-death communication). If such an compelling case could be developed, would you even want to learn about it?

No He is NOT. See God sends NO MAN to hell. Man sends himself by REJECTING Jesus Christ. See Jesus is the only way to the Father.
Buddha ain't never gonna get you anyplace other then hell with all the others who chose something other then Jesus Christ.

Has buddah ever healed anyone?
Has your buddah ever met your needs when there seem to be no way?
Even your buddah will bow to his knees and proclaim Jesus is Lord.

It's your choice where you put your trust. My advice is to really be sure in whom you trust.

@bluesunflower -- you've said that you'd like verifiable evidence that there's an afterlife. Well -- one way to look at it -- 'we' Do exist -- this world is here. God's Word tells us exactly how it got here , that there Is life After death -- will consist of either heaven or hell. God's Word tells us how to get to either of the places. But, once a person Gets to either place it's for Eternity. One location is pretty BAD -- No one is going to want to stay there. AND Jesus Christ tells everyone in John 14:6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me."

And whether or not we believe in Him -- when This life Is over -- Every person Will acknowledge Him and bow our knee to Him. Our eternal fate will have been determined Before we die.

Everyone Does have access to God's Word -- He's given it to mankind for a Reason -- to read / listen to it and either accept or reject Him. He Won't stop existing, though.

There's a passage about the rich man and Lazarus. They both die -- and wake up in Abraham's bosom -- except one is in Paradise and the other in hell in torment. The one man is in agony / torment -- could someone please tell my brothers what ahead for Them if they don't repent? And please just a drop of water on my tongue for just a drop of comfort.

There are Many things in This life that a person accepts by Faith. Without even realizing it. But, depending on a person's geographical location, how many people when entering a house -- check to make sure the plumbing is connected -- that the lights are connected , etc. 'we' place our faith in the plumber, electrician that he / she did the job correctly.

When we sit down on a chair, do we check to make sure all the screws are tight? making sure it's really put together correctly so that it will hold our weight / won't fall apart as soon as it is used? We put our faith in the company / person/ who put the chair together -- that they have 'our' welfare their priority. They want their customer to have a Good experience when using their product so they will continue to place their FAITH in their products.
