What Holy days should we keep?

Proclaiming and celebrating are two different things

The name Easter in all likelihood does not come from Ishtar, but the Germanic Eostre.

The earliest reference for Eostre dates the 7th century in Venerable Bede’s Temporum Ratione, in a passage explaining that April was often referred to as Eostremonth:

“Eosturmonath” has a name which is now translated “Paschal month”, and which was once called after a goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honor feasts were celebrated in that month.

On Easter Sunday this year, I, with millions of others, sang:

Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
let the Church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
for her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.​

It boggles the mind to think that anyone believes that this glorifies a pagan goddess.

Seems like a pretty thin line - some might say the splitting of hairs.

Probably not, but it just somehow seems inappropriate to use a derivation of the name of a pagan goddess to refer to the resurrection day.

My take on this is...

Just about everything on earth was un-holy at some point. All of us are born into sin.
Does it offend Jesus that we used to be unholy? No, He just cleanses us from our past.
There used to be a planned parenthood building that's now a church. Does Jesus care? It's now a camp of righteousness
where there used to be a camp of darkness. Let the kingdom go forth. Let the light shine.

Maybe there are some Christian holidays that used to be pagan holidays. So what. It used to be a day to celebrate
darkness, now it's a day to celebrate the light. Let the kingdom go forth.

My take is that the demons that used to love that day, hate that day now. Let the light shine!!

It seems the Sabbath is a day of freedom, to rest if we want, but also to work if we want to. Even Jesus and the disciples worked on the Sabbath.

Jesus healed on the Sabbath. More than once. Did he sin? ( Luke 6:6-9; Luke 13:10-16; )
Mark 3:2; They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
Mark 3:3; He *said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!"
Mark 3:4; And He *said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.
Mark 3:5; After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

Jesus preached on the Sabbath. So are preachers, actually working on the Sabbath?
Mark 1:21; They *went into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and began to teach. ( Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; Luke 13:10; )

Col 2:16; Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--

Personally, I think too much is made of this. Some Holidays had pagan beginnings. So what? Should we stop celebrating the birth of Jesus?
Should we stop celebrating the resurrection of Jesus?

you need to read the 4th Commandment to understand the meaning of the Sabbath Day. It was kept all through the Bible including the New Testement. Matt. 12:12 therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. 12:8 says For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. The Pharisees took the Sabbath and made all these rules to show they were in Authority of the rules they established.

Since we are coming upon the season of Easter and Passover, the spring celebrations, which days should Christians keep to honor God?
Easter is not founded in the Bible and God's Holy days were given to all mankind forever.
Which ones should be significant in our lives based on scripture? Or does it even matter to God?

The holy days written in the law of ordinances were nailed to the cross, however there is one holy day that was not, it was given before sin entered into this world in fact it was given at the creation of the world. The seventh day sabbath was created on the seventh day of creation and was the only thing created on that day. It is called the sabbath of the Lord or the Lord's day. It was given as a commandment of the ten written by the finger of God on stone. It will be kept in the ages of eternity.
