That confession tells me you didn't enter in thinking you were worthy, being self righteous. Indeed the first "feeling" in the presence of God should be one shrouded in unworthiness, being an ungodly sinner. But then it becomes necessary to move on in Christ, realizing His blood and body on the cross actually assigned great worthiness to you on the grounds of belief....faith. The kind of faith that made a friend of God out of Abraham centuries before Moses gave the Law. A terrible thing happened to the descendants of Abraham, forgetting to believe God in simplicity, replacing that with works to hopefully have that friend relationship with God. You can't go too wrong to simply discover how Abraham pleased God even though he sinned from time to time. The Law of Moses made it very difficult to know God, until Jesus set all that aside.
Romans 4:[3] For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
[4] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
[5] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
God will not owe any man anything. He has already freely given that each of us can be saved, on His terms. If you accept those terms of the gospel of Christ, you are already considered righteous, in right-standing with Him. Jesus' death made it possible. You are free to enjoy being in His presence without guilt of unworthiness.
Believer, you are precious to God, far above any treasure in creation, valued no less than the Son of God. Rest in that truth, then be empowered to go with that to others needing the good news. You were a sinner, saved by grace, now a saint of God even while not yet perfect in your flesh body. Enjoy being a child of God. Now go read starting in Genesis 11 about Abram, later named Abraham, then the whole New Testament as though a novel, quickly. Once through it, return to study. John is a great first place to study. Nail down the basic gospel as it came from Jesus, throughout the 4 gospels, before tackling Paul's writings. In time you will be "baptized" deeply into the scriptures through the Pauline books, and gain a wide understanding of the whole plan of God for you. Along the way pray frequently, daily, and spend time listening for God to speak, mostly while reading scriptures daily.
