Thoughts on the Tribulation

The beast Which is the 8 th king was to rule for 1260 days Or 42 months.
This Beast king is the pope, the man of sin, who like the seven kings that proceeded had a name of blasphemy this beast king pontiff killed 100 million plus christian during the time of papal supremacy, which lasted exactly 1260 years.
This time period started by officIal recognition by the roman empire of the bishop of Rome, with emperor justinian in 538 , granting the beast king pontiff of rome Primacy, which lasted until the total destruction in law of all papal power, which was achieved by Napoleon in 1798, which is exactly 1260 years.
This destruction of the beast was the great wound by the sword to one of the heads of the papal beast.
1798-538 = 1260
42 Months

1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

[p. 439] EXTINCTION OF THE PAPACY

The object of the French directory was the destruction of the pontifical government, as the irreconcilable enemy of the republic. They urged their general to drive the pope and cardinals out of Rome. Bonaparte proposed to give the Eternal City to the King of Spain, on condition of his recognizing the French republic. Failing in this, he resorted to a system of pillage which exhausted its resources, and finally a democratical demonstration was got up at Rome in the accustomed manner, in which one of the French envoys was killed by the fire of pontifical troops. This misfortune afforded the desired pretext. The French army pouring in under Berthier planted the tri-color on the Capitol, while their Roman confederates displaying the famous insignia, S. P. Q. R., shouted for liberty. The aged pope [Pius VI] was summoned to surrender the temporal government; on his refusal, he was dragged from the altar, and the soldiers plundered the Vatican in presence of its owner. They stripped his own chamber: when he asked to be left to die in peace, he was brutally answered that any place would serve to die in. His rings were torn from his fingers, and finally, after declaring the temporal power abolished, the victors carried

[p. 440] DECLINE AND FALL OF THE PAPACY

the pope prisoner into Tuscany, whence he never returned (1798).
The Papal States, converted into the Roman Republic, were declared to be in perpetual alliance with France, but the French general was the real master at Rome. The citizens groaned under his terrible exactions, Churches, convents, palaces, were stripped to the bare walls. The works of art were all carried off. The territorial possessions of the clergy and monks were declared national property, and their former owners cast into prison. The papacy was extinct: not a vestige of its existence remained; and among all the Roman Catholic powers not a finger was stirred in its defence. The Eternal City had no longer prince or pontiff; its bishop was a dying captive in foreign lands; and the decree was already announced that no successor would be allowed in his place.

The 1260 years of Papal Supremacy.

This is now
The time we live in
The second beast

deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live

Image to the beast
Which essentially is the roman empire beast
Posing as a church
Could be the european union
As its an image to rome .

This happens last i think

Verse 16. - And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast;and the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast. There is no authority for the ἐπι τὸ θηρίον of Erasmus except the Vulgate, in bestia, and, of course, the description given of the beast (Revelation 13:1, etc,). The two are spoken of separately, on account of the separate juris diction wielded according to vers. 32, 13. These shall hate the *****, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire;and shall burn her utterly with fire (Revised Version).

This is now

The second beast

deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live

Rome European Union

Roman european union founded by roman catholic jesuits

This is now
The time we live in
The second beast

deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live

Image to the beast
Which essentially is the roman empire beast
Posing as a church
Could be the european union With vatican city the pope as its founder ( whom the ten kings will burn with fire; and she sits on many waters also, meaning the roman church abroad with all its so called churches.
As its an image to rome .

So the second beast quickly got to work reshaping the former roman empire it had ruled
But lost in 1798 no longer sovereign losing all power over that empire
It came back in religious guise not looking like a king but as a lamb With two horns speaking like a dragon.
Then it quickly began Reorganising the powers of its former territories by two world wars Murdering the jews , And then knowing its time is short setting up a new roman empire via its agents
Hence the image to the beast? The image to rome and reviving its former area of rule via its agents who made the european union, knowing its mother ***** shall be destroyed by fire soon by ten kings.

So this dragon talking Fake lamb in white, the papacy, the man of sin; shall be around to the coming of the Lord
And only then will we be rid of this satanic deceiver the pope, when he and his evil work on earth
Deceiving mankind with his dragon words blasphemies against The Lord and heaven Shall be completely
Destroyed forever, along with his Role as sovereign as beast king of vatican city, which is the only Temporal sovereignty left in Europe.

Some of what you say could possibly be true.

I have to wonder... why would the Pope destroy the Vatican?

Also... at one time the European Union only had 10 members. I believe now it is close to 30 countries.
..... Ok, I just "Googled" it. It seems it is 28. So if it is countries from the European Union, it won't be
all of them.

In any case. Thanks for your thoughts. The tribulation is mostly over by the time we get to the end of Rev 17.
In Rev 18, Babylon has already fallen. In Revelation 18, it talks about a very prosperous city that was thrown down
and destroyed "in one hour". ( Rev 18:19; ) Revelation 19:3; says the smoke from the city rises up forever and ever.

... next ... other books that may mention the tribulation...

Matt 24 is the other place in the New Testament that seems to mention the tribulation.

Matt 24:5; "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.
Matt 24:6; "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.
Matt 24:7; "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.
Matt 24:8; "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
Matt 24:9; "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
Matt 24:10; "At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.
Matt 24:11; "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Matt 24:12; "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.
Matt 24:13; "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
Matt 24:14; "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matt 24:15; "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Matt 24:16; then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Matt 24:17; "Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house.
Matt 24:18; "Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
Matt 24:19; "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
Matt 24:20; "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
Matt 24:21; "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.
Matt 24:22; "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Matt 24:28; "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
Matt 24:29; "But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

It's possible that Matt 24:22; is related to Rev 8:12;
It talks abut those who are in Judea, (part of Israel) fleeing to the mountains.
Matt 24:21; says this will be the greatest time of tribulation ever in the history of mankind.

Finally Matt 24:15; mentions something called the abomination of desolation. It also says the prophet
Daniel mentions this. Of course the book of Daniel was written during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II
( about 605 BC – 562 BC ). So the events of Daniel would have happened over 60 years before Jesus
came to the earth.

The abomination of desolation is mentioned a few places in the Bible.
Dan 11:31; Dan 12;11; Matt 24:15; and Mark 13:14; it is also possibly mentioned in Malachi 2:11;

We are not told specifically what the abomination of desolation was in the Bible. Only that
it had to do with "the regular sacrifice" ( Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11; )
Daniel says this lasted for 1,290 days... ( approx. 3 1/2 years).

Jesus seems to indicate that something similar will happen again in Matt 24:15; and Mark 13:14;

This isn't in the Bible, but tradition holds that Antiochus Epiphanes III sacrificed swine (pigs)
upon the altar of the temple. Pigs are a very unclean animal in Jewish culture of the old testament.
It's possible something like this will occur again during the tribulation.

100 million Saints were killed before 1798
That is during the 1260 days from 538 to 1798
I would say that is Prophecy of the killing of the saints by the beast king fulfilled in a great part
The 42 months ; 1260 days part
At any rate.
Would you agree?
