Where was the SIN QUESTION settled? Calvary.
What was the verdict? Guilty.
What was the penalty? Death.
Who took it? Jesus Christ.
How much of it? All of it.
How much did he leave for you? None of it...not imputing the world's sins unto them; "not imputing their trespasses unto them"
(2 Corinthians 5:19)

It's not a "SIN" issue today. It's a "BELIEF" issue.

Jesus paid for all your sins PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE,
on the cross.

So stop asking for forgivness. He has already FORGIVEN YOU!

JUST BELIEVE.
 
We're still supposed to ask for forgiveness and repent after we stumble. We need the Lord's cleansing blood to purify us, because sin has the opposite effect on our entire being.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous - 1 John 2:1
 
I John is to Isreal.

we are under the teaching of Paul.

Romans through Philmon are the books for this Dispensation of Grace.

But i do believe some books of the Bible are to Isreal and some are to us living here today. We are not under the Law but under Grace.

Paul is our teacher with the message of Grace, therefore Romans through Philimon are the books we can apply to our lives today.

I highly disagree. Every book, all 66 in the Bible we can apply today, every day.

What about Proverbs? Psalms? Gospels? Job? Genesis?

It IS important to ask for forgiveness each time we sin. Are you too prideful to ask forgiveness? What if someone wronged you? How would you feel if they didn't ask for forgiveness? Its no difference with our Heavenly Father who deserves utmost reverence and honor from us who ARE saved by His grace.

Like I said before, its about restoring our fellowship with Him. Sin breaks that fellowship.
 
All scripture.

ALL scripture is for reproof and doctrine. Every single scripture.

I understand the faith stuff for forgiveness, However, the faith comes after you see the wrong, admit it, and be willing to correct it.

Sin is not about upsetting God. God gave us things to follow to protect us, not to ruin our fun.

Without your acknowledgement of your sin, and error, then how is there going to be a correction to get back pleasing to God.

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Jesus Is Lord.
 
Hmmm.. also believe we should occasionally ask for forgiveness. God may know the future, but we don't. He may know all the sins we have done, and all the sins we will do in the future, but we don't.

We can't confess the sins we don't know about. I can confess them tomorrow after I committed them :-) (I'm only half-kidding)
If we confess our sins, he will forgive us, true... but what if we don't?
As Christians we don't need to be re-saved over and over again, this is also true, but we do need our feet washed every once in a while. Also, all sins aren't only just against God, he may have forgiven us, but what about those we have sinned against. We need to confess to them also (there are some exceptions, but for the most part we should do our best to confess them)

I believe there are Christians who go through life as a believer never asking for forgiveness "because they are already forgiven"; for myself, when I pray, and confess my sins, first I am acknowledging that I did the sin, second I am asking for forgiveness for the sin, third I am recognizing Christ paid the price for my sin, and next one, and next one and.... (you get the point) The prayers are as much for my sake, as they are for God. My prayers reveal my heart (not to God, he already knows my heart) to who? To me!!
Usually when I stop asking for forgiveness, it's for the wrong reasons, (guilt & shame) (I don't really want to repent at that moment) (I don't care) or I'm trying to brush it under the carpet and hope God will forget about it. (He has a pretty good memory).
When we confess it, and pray about it, and get it out in the open, satan can't use it against us anymore. We now (hopefully) have someone to help us be accountable.
and the more we pray about it, the more we think about it and want to change it.

I see what your getting at and I want to research.Just to be safe saying "more than one gospel" might be technically accurate but it may get your message attacked without being read.

I read it all and it answers many of those nagging questions that denominations squabble over.
Let's see if I grasp what your saying:

Fred=Are we saved by works or by faith.
Barney=Is your mother Jewish?
Fred=No
Barney=Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
Fred=That's it?
Barney=ya
Fred=What if I was Jewish
Barney=Well that's another story

So would the conversation go something like that?

PS.I just found another verse that may show the difference:
Matthew 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Strong's 1484=Nations
Greek=ethnos
English=races,peoples or Gentiles(excluding Israel)

Well this is getting interesting and I have developed some new questions already.

I don't feel the author of the post was saying that not all scripture holds it's power.
If you actually read the explanation,it's about application of scriptures to the right people at the right time.
Just as we are not under the law as Gentiles the Jews were not released from their previous obligations to maintain their covenant(possibly modified because the Lamb had been offered) and Faith in Jesus Christ was an additional requirement.

This would actually solve many questions about works or faith.
The Jews had an everlasting covenant based on works through faith.
This would continue with an addition or supplemental command to Believe in Jesus.

Acts 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Paul knew he could never sell Judaism+Jesus to the Gentiles,
So it was decided that it would be Jesus by faith alone.
And a few healthy suggestions.

It solves many puzzles but creates a few new ones.

But if you think that the OP is discounting any scripture then you probably didn't read the explanation carefully.

The Jews have always been looking for a Messiah, they were never supposed to keep doing what they were doing in the OT. The books of Hebrews is called that because it's written to the Hebrews, chapters 7 thru 10 are all about the priesthood changing from the old Levitical way to Christ becoming our high priest.
We are all under the same law, there is no different law for the Jews.
The reason Peter, James, John and Andrew quit following John the Baptist, was because he told them Jesus was the Messiah. All of the apostles were Jews who had been looking for the Christ.
Luke 24:44, Romans 8:4, Matt 5:17-18, Luke 16:17
The law is still in effect, it never stopped being in effect, the only difference is the sacrifice/atonement is now paid for. We have a different high-priest, but the all the rules of the OT still apply to us today.
Jesus wasn't OK with the Jews following the old covenant. ( Hebrews 8:7, Hebrews 9:1 )
This was one of the reason Jesus was always fighting with the Pharisee's, they knew the prophecy of a Messiah, yet they were trying to keep the people under the conditions of the old covenant.
The covenant changed, but the Law didn't.

Think about it, if there was no Law for us, then we (Gentiles) could never sin. We wouldn't even need Jesus.
Rom 8:2 and 1 Cor 15:56 don't invalidate the law, they validate law acknowledging it still has the power of death.
So if the letter of the law kills, and the letter of the Spirit gives life, they doen't mean there is no law, it just means the Spirit is what gives us life, it's what frees us from the Law we were under (it's not saying we never were under a Law )

P.S.
If there is a "different law" for us Gentiles that didn't come from God and the Bible, where did it come from and how valid is it?

I'm not sure why you point out my post.I am researching to see if what the OP said is sound.

So I will let the original poster defend this position.
I am simply approaching these things with an open mind and heart and with prayer and all diligence.
I have some issues with your position but am not on this thread to debate.If you make a new thread I would be glad to respond but out of respect to the OP I won't respond here.

I guess I should have said if these things are so:

For many years I have asked why a Gentile would trade in that easy to negotiate Noahetic covenant for the threat of eternal torture at the slightest error.
There was never a threat of torture in hell in the Covenant after the flood.I don't see where the Gentiles and the rest of the nations of the earth ever ceased to be under that Covenant.

Seems like some sacred cows are being tipped.:shock:

Don't they know cattle deplete the ozone layer and allow harmful particles to damage the body?
 
[as for me] I will repent when I sin for the remission of sins, and yes I will admit my wrongs (confess my sins) to God, who after I do so shall forgive me my sins, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
[again, for me] My Lord tells me that it is repentance and remission of sins that should be preached in His Name among all nations, and the first thing my Lord said when He began His ministry was "Repent"; therefore I will not bypass what He tells me.
 
I had some time to study this subject and found that it explains many supposedly conflicting scripture especially concerning faith and or works.

It explains how the Sabbath would be kept by a physical (Hebrews)and a spiritual(Gentiles) company.It explains why we are to let no man judge us regarding a Holy day.There were obviously new liberties to the Jews because God told Peter that "what the Lord has cleansed let no man call unclean".It would also seem to me that a Jew could leave the law and walk by grace trough faith alone.By the same token a Gentile could take the burdens of the law upon himself but not to be accepted by God.In fact the Gentile can make laws for himself and if he breaks his own law the punishment will be carried out by Angels.

This parable I believe points to the different covenants:
Matthew 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard.
He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
Matthew 20:3 About the third hour he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing.
Matthew 20:4 He told them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.'
Matthew 20:5 So they went. "He went out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour and did the same thing
Matthew 20:6 About the eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, 'Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?'
Matthew 20:7 "'Because no one has hired us,' they answered. "He said to them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard.'
"When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, Matthew 20:8 'Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.'
Matthew 20:9 "The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius
Matthew 20:10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius.

I included all of this because it does fit the covenant patterns and we are at the 11th hour.Anyway there was much work done before any of us got here and we are entering into great benefits because of vineyards we did not plant,
 
i don't think we need to repent in sense as saying sorry all the time. I agree we should just accept forgiveness.

repentance is just putting away that which is very harmful in your relationship with God. But we don't know always which it is unless our relationship it self is on going with the Lord.
