Seriously ill

Thanks very much for both of the replies.

Thank you LLJ for your honesty, by saying:

" I think you are trying too hard and looking for signs and wonders ".

If that is what I am doing wrong then at least I know and can do something about it!!

In my defence however, I would like to say that it was everybody here on this forum saying that I would know when God spoke to me and I would also know that God loves me because I would experience it.

It was for this reason that I was looking for a "sign". I was only looking for a "sign" because I had been led to believe that that was what happened. If that isn't what happens, then ... well, I'll just take the advice from your post and see what transpires!

Thank you LLJ for telling me what I was doing wrong and thank you Word of Life for your on-going encouragement!

I hope that I am not asking for too much prayer.

However, I am in a lot of pain this morning and it certainly doesn´t help that I haven´t slept well. I am ready to cry because I feel so ill.

I am going back to bed to rest and hopefully sleep. I can´t cope with this pain.

Please will you pray for me?

Thanks

It is a pleasure to pray for you my sweet sister in the Lord. I hate having pain. Having said that I do have some pain in my arm just lately but it is nothing compared to what you are going through. It makes me sad to know you are suffering so greatly with pain.

Father I pray that You will do the miraculous for my dear sister and deliver her from this awful pain she is unable to cope with. I pray for total healing in her body from the top of her head to the soles of her feet and I pray that she will have the sleep she needs too in Jesus' name amen.

Thank you Jesus that You care about every detail in our lives nothing is too small for You and nothing is too big.

God bless

Love in Christ  :rainbow: :rose:

Thank you for your prayer. I am struggling with the pain but have been able to get out of bed now.

Thank you for your kindness to say that you don´t mind praying for me.

Dear Sister Sadeyes,

Please do know that I and many others are praying for you, and that we love you, and that Jesus loves you. You said:

In Christ's serf's post he wrote:

"Sickness may have entered into your life because of sin, and it may be that there is something that you must repent of. Search your life carefully, and be fully committed to serving Jesus with all that you have."

Well, as I have just said, there is a lot of baggage in my life - but this is all too difficult to deal with in one day!

Rachel too has mentioned confessing sin in my life. I see a common thread here, but this is such a BIG one for me to deal with at the moment.

This 'baggage' is what you need to deal with if you want to be healed. You must accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and this includes obeying Him. Look at these examples of Jesus' healing and forgiveness:

John 5:7-9, 14 The weak man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. ... Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:3-11 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not]. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

You have to want more than forgiveness, you must want a change in your lifestyle. You have to want more than healing, you must want to never sin again. You must want to serve Jesus with all that you have, and to not serve sin anymore; and Jesus will make you able to do this!

Remember another verse that I posted:

Jam 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

So, you have said that you have much baggage? Tell us what it is. We can help you overcome it. You can drop it all at once! Think of the wonderful beauty of it: you can live without sinning!

In Yahweh's Love and Truth,

Christ's Serf

Thank you Christ´s serf for your post and for saying that you and others are praying for me. I noticed that you are from Alaska. I am so amazed that people from all over the world could be praying for me when I just feel so unimportant.

Thank you

I see the connection between sickness and "baggage" and I believe it. It also is a recognised medical fact that there is this connection. Thank you for your kind offer in the last paragraph of your post - ie to tell you about my "baggage". However, I don´t know the people on this forum and therefore, for me to share with you the baggage in my life would be too difficult. If you have read other posts that I have written, you will know that I have a great fear of rejection, and as I have already experienced that here, I have to be very careful about what I write and share.

At this time, all I can ask is for your prayers to help me to get through this day, to help me to cope with the pain and perhaps to get to a point where I can tell you about my baggage so that you can help me to overcome it.

I recognise that I am a sinner and my sins are great, but I want to get rid of sin in my life and live like God would want me to live. If that brings healing, then YIPPEE!

Thank you

Alright then, let's start getting to know each other so that you can become comfortable with me (and Jesus) helping you to overcome your "baggage". I will give a short sketch of my life below, and then I will make a thread in the "Lounge" forum entitled "Getting to know you". Feel free to ask me questions about my life; brothers and sisters in Christ should know each other well and be accountable to one another.

I was born and raised mainly in the Midwest USA, though I did spend a lot of time traveling around. My dad was and is a street preacher, and he often took us with him when he preached from town to town. In 2003 our family moved by airplane to Anchorage, Alaska. We stayed there for about two months and then moved a little bit north to the small town of Wasilla (we've never liked big cities). The next year my dad, one of my older brothers, and I took a trip up to Fairbanks (which is in the middle of Alaska) to look for a place to live. Within days we were met by a brother in Christ who told us of another brother who owned some land outside of town, but he himself lived down in southern Alaska, and needed someone to watch the place. We agreed to live there, maintain his buildings, and improve the land. We moved the rest of the family up there in a matter of weeks. Since that time we have been raising gardens and some livestock, built a cabin, and harvested wild foods, especially blueberries. We continue to minister in Fairbanks and on the Internet. I maintain a website where we post our doctrinal teachings and have our own message board.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Christ's Serf

Good idea - but feeling too ill at the moment to type!

Need to go to bed. I am in a lot of pain - but that is quite normal for this time of night!

Thanks for your thoughtfulness!

Praying for you

My wife and I will pray for you on this Easter Sunday so the Lord will heal your pain and comfort you in your illness.

May the blessings of the Risen Christ abound in you.

On the topic on signs.

Sister let me give you some Scripture which shows us how we should accept signs from God.
Matthew 12:38-45
38Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You."

39But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;

40for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41"The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

42"The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

43"Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.

44"Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came'; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order.

45"Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation."

We should not ask God for signs, ever, because that is doubting Him, that is not being faithful. However, when God reveals signs to us, by His own power and will, we should acknowledge Him and glorify Him with praise.
John 20:30-31
Why This Gospel Was Written
30Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;

31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
Hebrews 2:4
4God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

A sign, a wonder from God is a testimony for our lives, it is the way God makes Himself known. Like I told you earlier, if you know inside yourself, when you read the Bible, or whatever may happen, that that is a sign from God. you have to thank God for it. But never look for a sign, do not ask for a sign.

Be thankful for that which you receive.
Colossians 1:9-12
9For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

10so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously

12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
Colossians 3:15-16
15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

16Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

God bless
Much love

SEE YOU SOON !

Thank you for all of your prayers and posts. I wish that I could respond separately to each one, but I really do not feel well enough to do that. This morning the pain was very bad so I have had to rest all day. That is so hard for me!!

Is it still OK to ask you to pray for me as I am desperate for some relief from this pain?

Thank you

Father sadeyes has asked for more prayer as she suffered so badly with this pain all day yesterday and had to rest. I missed her presence here too. I pray that You give her relief from this awful pain as it is hard for her to handle and she so desperately wants to know Your love and presence. You know her heart better than anyone and I ask that You would restore her body to full health and strength from the top of her head to the soles of her feet and by Your stripes she is healed. I claim this healing for my dear sister in Jesus' name amen.
