Revival before the rapture.

For a while now I've been aware of Christian folk who have the idea that The Lord's return might be imminent. And things on this earth are getting gradually worse & worse and we are just hanging in there until the rapture.

I have certain difficulties with this view, for several reasons. I guess the first is that light/revelation of the Lord and His glory amongst His people has been increasing steadily since the end of the dark ages. There have been many revelations and revivals since 14th century. But I don't personally believe the Lord will return until this world has an opportunity to see Him manifest in his glory, through His body the Church. For centuries Christians have been praying the Lords prayer; Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven... often I believe without really expecting it to happen.

This is speaking of the perfect will of God – as in heaven – being done on earth. There are Christians praying your Kingdom come now in the church meetings expecting God to show up in Holy Spirit power and establish the kingdom in their midst, they are witnessing many signs, and wonders and miracles. I now of one lady who has seen the Lord raise up about about 80 people from the dead. Churches that are in the flow of what God is doing at this present time are growing by about 8.8% per annum, and have been over the last 30 years, that is quite some growth!

Sometimes it seems as though the world and the devil is having it's little victories over the Church, I believe this is an illusion, and one that is going to be shattered before our Lord returns. I remember once in the late seventies hearing this prophecy; "...who do men say that I am, when they say I am this or that other the other or that I am small or do not exist believe them not, ... for Yea there will be a performance of those things that even the most feeble of hearts can believe... says the Lord." Later on that night there were many miracles and healing's of both small and great things.
But I believe there is going to be a time when the manifest glory of God is so great on this earth, that those who have feeble, unbelieving hearts are going to find it difficult to hang on to their unbelief. And I expect all this to happen before the Lord comes.

So I'm not waiting for the anti-christ to take over and start running things down here.

I'm looking to see the glory of God and His Kingdom come and the greatest revival the world has ever seen.

Blessings,
Tonyb

A positive message indeed Tony, and a message that we need to hear today. Amen.

The Lord is coming to a glorious church, a triumphant church, one without spot or wrinkle or any other blemish" Eph 5:27

Hallelujah. Great days are ahead for those who are walking with the Lord. Great days for the church.....I am sure....and the scripture confirms.

Without Spot or Wrinkle

Is there scripture that tells us that in the end times there will be a great revival? I believe the scripture talking about "without spot or wrinkle," is refering to the church, the bride, in heaven at the wedding feast after the rapture. Those saved in the church who are waiting and watching for the Lord as He commanded us to be will be taken and those not, will be left behind. My belief is that in the end times, there will be a falling away, not a revival.

2 Thessalonians 2

1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh...

I'm aware of the scripture you quoted about there being a falling away before the Lord's return.

As for revival before the Lord's return as far as I'm aware there is a great revival amongst the Jewish people sometime after the building of the temple and it being desecrated by the man of sin.

The other revival I believe would be a fulfillment of Joel2:28-29
“ And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants.

I will pour out My Spirit... was partly fulfilled during the time of the early Christian Church. I believe, “ That I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh... is significant, and speaks of the end times, and is something that has not happened as yet.

I'll have to do further research for other scriptures on an end time revival. This is not really my specialist subject.

Blessings,
Tonyb

I agree with what you said above. The revival of the Jewish people will be during the 7 years of tribulation. There will be a peace treaty of some kind with Isreal that will be for 7 years. The anti christ will come into power at that time and the temple will be built during the first 3-1/2 years. Sacrafices will be started again but when the anti christ stops them and stands in the temple declaring that he is God, the Jews will know that they have been dooped and will head out into the hills. Probably the city of Petra. 12,000 Jews from each tribe will be sealed making a number of 144,000 and they will preach about Jesus and his soon coming. The second 3-1/2 years of the tribulation will be the worst. The mark of the beast will be forced on the people. According to scripture, anyone taking it will be cast into the lake of fire. Anyone not taking it will be beheaded. At the end of the 7 years, Christ will come back to earth to fight the last battle, the battle of Armageddon and Satan will be chained up. Christ will then rule earth with an iron rod for 1000 years. Then comes the Great White Judgment and all whose names are not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire.
Thats my belief anyway.

I agree with you David, these verses refer to the church. "He will present unto himself......" My very simple thought was we are not there yet.
