Replacement Theology

Why call Jacob the deciever? He had the birthright of GOD.
Hi thanks for the reply

Yes, he had the first-born rights the one that ended in death

Jacob. .Deceiver, one who grabbed the heel of the first born in an attempt at being first . Not having the understanding one must be born again the second spiritual birth.

Jacob whose name means the "deceiver" sold a cup of" hairy goat soup" to Cain who saw no value in the invisible spiritual things of Christ our husband.

Israel he who wrestles with the spiritual things and things of the flesh empowered by the father he becomes the born-again bride Isreal

Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.'
(Jer 31:35-37)
Jeremiah was speaking of the Israelites turning to worship idols and burning their babies in idols of Moloch. GOD then allowed them to be defeated, conquered and reduced in number and renamed several times.

But as in the Garden of Eden He had said a descendant of Eve would crush Satan. He kept an eye on the Ten Tribes through all their wanderings and not a grain of them has or will fall without Him noting it - and perhaps recording them in the Book of Life that will be opened on Judgment Day.

Satan succeeded in killing Jesus temporarily and is still ruling Earth but he must keep looking over his shoulder to see if Jesus's foot is coming to crush him and cast him into an eternal lake of fire.
'Thus saith the LORD,
which giveth the sun for a light by day,
and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,
which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar;
The LORD of hosts is His name:
IF - those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD,
...... then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
........ Thus saith the LORD;
IF - heaven above can be measured,
...... and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
......... I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done,
........... saith the LORD.'

(Jer 31:35-37)

Hello @Rxlx ,

My reason for quoting the above verses, was to show the impossibility of Israel ever being, 'cast off', by God.

Thank you

seems to me this theology is not taught by anyone I have seen, it makes no sense, the church is the fulfillment of Jesus coming to Jews. It's not one or the other, unless one accepts Jesus as Lord and savior it does not matter if you are Jew or Gentile. The true church of Christ is a spiritual thing consisting of Jew and Gentile.

The church promise is eternal,

'Thus saith the LORD,

The seed of Israel is todays' Anglo-Saxon Christians of England, America and the old British Empire.

Replacement theology is a Christian theological view asserting that the church has replaced or superseded Israel as God's chosen people. It's often referred to as supersessionism, and suggests that the church, as the true Israel, has fulfilled the promises and covenant made to the Jewish people. This idea has been a point of contention and debate within Christianity, with some rejecting it while others continue to hold it.

The church promise is eternal,
'Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.'

Hello @DaveM.

I have seen individuals on forums over the years who have held this belief, unfortunately. It is just one of many false trails that the enemy of our souls creates to cause the unwary to veer off course, and fall into error.

No wonder the Holy Spirit tells us to let the word of God dwell in us richly, for only a mind in which the word of God is stored, is equipped to ward off these falsehoods.

Why call Jacob the deceiver? He had the birthright of GOD.
'Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him,
Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!'

(Joh 1:47)

Hello @Rxlx,

In the flesh Jacob was a deceiver, he deceived his father into giving him the blessing that was rightfully his brother Esau's, as the firstborn son. The birthright Esau had already given to Jacob, in exchange for a bowl of soup! He had not valued it as he should have done, and now suffered the loss of the blessing of the firstborn also.

I love the verse above, regarding Nathanael, for though an 'Israelite indeed', the Lord discerned that, unlike his forebear, he was guileless.
