What an eight year old would say. (Hence my question.)
More agree with me than you.
Another thing an eight year old would say. (Hence my question.)
You said, "Revelation is not in our canon (never was), nor should it be in yours." You started it.
Started what? I stated two facts.
Revelation is not in our canon.
Revelation should not be in your canon.
So, to my final question...
Can you have a civil conversation?
It's not looking too good at the moment.
1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Is this verse in your bible?
You're giving me words from "John." I had asked where Jesus said this.
It would seem I have to summarize the conversation so we can stay on point.
(Rockerduck) Accepting Christ as your savior erases your sins because
Jesus forgives them.
(
Rhema) Yet didn't Jesus teach that
the Father forgives sin?
(Rockerduck) Aren't we washed clean by the blood of the Lamb?
(
Rhema) Where did Jesus preach this?
(Rockerduck) Revelation 1:5
(
Rhema) Rev 1:5 is not a quote from Jesus. So... where did Jesus (himself) say this?
At this point, instead of dealing with the content of my post, which is extremely clear... (What did Jesus preach, where did Jesus say this, Jesus HIMSELF?) you went on some kind of histrionic melt down about the King James Bible, never actually providing an answer to my questions. (Do I need to actually quote this?)
And STILL, instead of quoting the LOGOS (Teachings) of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels, you give me words from some other person.
BUT... despite your refusal to actually answer my questions, I
will answer yours.
Is this verse in your bible?
Actually yes. But I can state without doubt or hesitation that you don't know what "blood" means in this verse. And while I'm pretty sure I know what your
church told you it meant, what you think it means is not what Jesus actually said.
And that's the conversation I would like to have. (If you could cool your jets.)
So.... are
these verses in your Bible?
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is poured into many for the forgiveness of sins.
- Matthew 26:27-28
It's easy to see that Jesus literally said "THIS" is my blood. But I ask, what is the This?
Thanks kindly,
Rhema
Now just to skip ahead here and save some time, the text absolutely does NOT say, "This
represents my blood." I just want to know what the "this" is that's in the cup.
