Revelation is not in our canon (never was), nor should it be in yours.
It wasn't officially scripture until voted upon at the Synod of Hippo Regius in North Africa (A.D. 393), after being noted as spurious by most Bishops at Nicaea (cf. Eusebius). I doubt it would take 350 some odd years for God to make up his mind.
Even then, though, Rev 1:5 is not a quote from Jesus, but rather an attribute listed by the author.
So... where did Jesus (himself) say this?
Thanks,
Rhema
Jesus the Son of man the prophet chief apostles of Christ spoke the words of the Holy Father not seen
listed by the author. There is only one "Let there be" and it was "God the alone good" author
Can't build a faith on spurious the majority. God does not take 350 odd years to make up his mind. He finished that labor of His love on the 6th day.
Today if we hear sola scriptura (all things written in the law and prophets and do not harden our hearts and chase after oral traditions of dead venerable fathers, Our Holy Father will then give us rest and understanding as to why two different warning working as one to protect the integrity both were given. Two the witness representing Christ not seen has spoken
The first (Deuteronomy 4:2) in respect to changing the meaning of one word seeing it can change the authority of the author Christ and give it over to the oral traditions of dying mankind.
Deuteronomy 4:2 ;Ye shall not add unto the word (singular)which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it,(singular) that ye may keep the commandments (plural) of the Lord your God which I command you.
Similar law, this time not in respect to one word but the whole sealed with seven seals till the end of time.
Removing the last warning Revelation only reveals the first Deuteronomy was ignored.
Revelation 22 18-19 ;For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:;And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
