This guy, Jimmie, who will be 72 years old this week, is crippled and in a wheelchair. He walks his dog around the apartment complex on nice days, and one day I saw him and knew I had to talk to him. He's been on my mind lately, Jesus has been telling me that I need to minister to him somehow. Today I saw him again and was very happy because I was being given a chance to do His will! He mentioned his sister is "religious" and that sparked it. I told him I'm Christian, and he said his sister is too. Then he started telling me that he believes in God, but doesn't go to church and do that "religious" stuff. I told him about the Pharisees and how they were so caught up in religion that they thought all of their own deeds were what made them righteous, but that true Christianity is having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. (Going to church is part of that relationship, for me at least, but I didn't tell him that). Right after I told him that he told me he was gay. That was the last thing I expected him to say. I tried not to act disappointed but it could have shown through my eyes, I don't know. It was just so hard to hear him say that after him talking about being married in the past and believing in God. I still haven't asked him if he believes in Jesus Christ yet, but that will come for sure. The rest of the night I went to the park to be alone with Jesus. I prayed and prayed for Jimmie to repent from his sexual impurity. It saddens me to see him say he believes in God yet he willingly made the choice to be gay, which is horrible in God's eyes and rightly so. So for him to repent is to move a mountain, which Jesus says we can do! So PRAY!! Thursday night is his birthday get together with his sister and a couple of friends, I'll have Jesus right beside me because all I want for Jimmie is his salvation.

ThankJesus,

I'm right there with you praying for Jimmie and his repentence and coming to Jesus. It was a wonderful thing you did ministering to him because now he has lots to think about and concider. God bless you my friend and brother in Jesus

Until Jimmie understands and agrees with scripture, then his gay desires are just another thing that seperates him from God. Just remember that you are not trying to save him from sexual immorality (which includes a lot more than gay desires), but to turn him to Christ. The Holy Spirit will convict him of his sin as he is able to deal with it... after.... his conversion. Don't focus on his sexual immorality, that's what he is expecting you to do, so that he can more readily reject your witness. Focus only on his current state of separation due to sin in his life in general. But that God provided a way back to him through Christ Jesus.

I am also praying for Jimmie. God is able to speak to his heart so that he can move toward the place that he needs to be.

Today is his borthday, so tonight I'll go to his "party" to have ribs and cake with a few people he knows. Last night I was in my living room and someone knocked on my door, it was Jimmie. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building, and he is always in a wheelchair. Then the next thing I know he's standing up in my doorway. Kind of strange, I guess he's not crippled afterall. He wanted to make sure I would be at his birthday party.

I went to DQ an got him an ice cream cake, and a card from For All Bible bookstore, and went over to his apartment. A lady named Juanita was there and she was wearing a shirt that said "Jesus Christ" on it, and wearing a cross, so that was a nice surprise! She used to be his caretaker. Anyways, had some good food and stuff, then Juanita went home and we just talked it out. I ended up giving my testimony to him. THANK YOU JESUS FOR USING ME! I pray that seed will grow into a relationship with Jesus Christ. He told me he believes in Jesus Christ...but chooses to be gay and says Jesus understands his lifestyle. I don't know what to think about that, I think he needs to repent because he's putting himself first before Jesus right? I shouldn't worry about it, and just pray.

Hi ThankJesus,

The truth Jimmie needs to know is that yes Jesus does love him very much, but He does not and will never condone this lifestyle he has choosen to live. Jesus loves the sinner but not the sin just as we are called to love the sinner but not the sin. You are right when you say that Jimmie needs to repent and turn from this lifestyle. You can be concerned for him but leave all worry at the feet of Jesus and pray for your friend. You have given your testimony, but have you actually sat down with your friend and showed him in the bible what Jesus says about being gay? Remember we must tell the truth of Jesus in Love. I will continue to pray for Jimmie.
