I need prayer flor healing of financial problems stemming from a lifetime of poor spending habits.

Spirit Led Ed (SLE)

I just prayed to the Lord to help you get your debts in order. We all make mistakes and none of us are perfect. But GOD is and I pray that he helps you with your financial troubles. Have a blessed day.

Ed: Take heart brother, nothing is impossible with God. Remember others have been where you are, and being ashamed or afraid is all part of getting out of financial messes. I am willing to share some information that might help, at least I hope so. ok.

I AM NOT A LAWYER OR HAVE LEGAL TRAINING NOR CAN OFFER LEGAL ADVICE. I AM JUST GIVING GENERAL MY OPINION.

Check out Dave Ramsey on the web. This guy is one of the wisest christian people I know who have helped many people in our nation. Dave also has gone to many churches and gives two days of classes that are really great. His books are in Christian Bookstores and even at some WalMarts.

Do not let anyone push you into a debt counseling place or web site that says they will apy your bills for you, and all you do is pay a small charge. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM ! This is a huge scam that has sunk many a families boat. They keep the money and pay nothing or just a little and in six months you have judgements coming from everywhere.

If you are paying monthly on your house your lender has Loan Modification Programs that might reduce the interest rate for four years.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit credit counselor that ALL credit bureau's work with and are accepted by most all credit collection agencies as well.

Going into debt pay a debt is unwise. Taking out a new credit card to pay off or pay payments or bills only increases the size of the number of people you owe. Never take out a Pay Day Loan. Once you take out one it becomes a debt that is almost impossible to pay down. The cycle of Pay Day Loans will drag you in a deep pit, and the intrest will eat you up alive. If you are getting notices of pending Court actions, do not ignore these notices, you most likely need a Attorney.

Most advisors and Attornies will tell you to make a list of every bill you have with whom you owe the address and the amount of the debt and if it's in both your names or just one of your names.

This is a time that you and your wife need to be on the same page and work together. You two must be in agreement on everything that is choosen to do.

Get ledger book that you can keep financial records in. Keep a record of every penny you get, and every penny you spend. No matter how small the amount you have to track your money. This will prepare you and your wife to make a budget. Most people with financial problems are not on a budget or are on a very loose method of keeping records of what they have coming in and going out. You will be astonished at what you learn from keeping detailed records.

I am thinking just a few couples pray together. Together ask the Lord to help you get out of debt. Pray for forgiveness of the past sins in your handling of the money He has given you, and ask for wisdom to get out of debt. Less than 80% give a tithe back to the Lord. Begin by giving something regulaurly, even it's just what seems minor to you guys. By begining to give back to the Lord you will be very pleased in your efforts. This begining is a must, to allow the Lord to show you He can be trusted. Believe that the Lord is ABLE.

There is a lot more but here is one start that I am aware of. Getting out of debt takes time and consiatancy. You both must work together, this is not an easy task. The two of you are soon to embark a journey that will end with you experencing total freedom.

These ideas are just to get you started, you might talk to your pastor, or get the books I mentioned or look on the web for Dave or other Christian fincial advisors. God bless you Ed and your wife.

it didndt happen over night and probobliy not gonna fix that quick either ..But God .can move miricles ,,Gods word says JER 33:3 call on Me and i will show you great and mighty things you Know not.....God has made a way i promise you ..but if You ask God to Help as he blesses you. bless others too so he can increase what he gives you and show yourself a good steward of Gods riches. He does not want us in debit IT IS BONDAGE and we cant let ourselves live there ..we should prosper as our very soul prospers for God s Glory and not just our gain....Father I ask that you show this child where he needs to be to be used of you and that though obedience to your leading he would be blessed every were his foot touches..father that you give wisdom and grace with creditors that your riches may be realised in his life. Lord God nothing is to big for u and i pray that you show yourself mighty this situation......to your Glory we pray Amen

I agree pay day loans are so bad news! My ex husband is addicted to those. They are nothing but a trap. I pray that you are able to get your finances in order. It ain't easy...but God is above all that. Trust Him to show you how to get your money in order.
God bless!

Lord Jesus I ask you to get my dear brother through this financial crisis quickly at this time.

Lord Jesus our eyes look unto you every day. You alone.

I find that the lord indeed works in mysterious ways. I have debt. Nothing to unreasonable for a house and vehicle and medical bills. My son cost over $1million dollars last year alone. My portion was somewhere around $3K. Before I knew the lord by name and he was just the invisible God of the universe that I had looked up and asked for guidance, he sent me $10k unattached in a time of desperation. What I have noticed since I came under the banner of Christ is my desire to spend money on stuff has gone away. I stopped using credit cards. We always have food, clothing and shelter. I just send whatever is left over to the debt collectors. I just don't remember ever seeing anything in scripture that spoke about praying to get out of debt. What I did pray for was found in Proverbs, that God wouldn't let me be too poor that I'd steal and take his name in vain, nor let me be too rich that things go well and I forget about him.

Following the pattern of Paul's prayers, I pray that everyone here including the OP be blessed beyond belief in all spiritual understanding of Jesus Christ our Lord and his person. That we all escape the corruption that is in the world through lust by the knowledge of him who has called us to glory and virtue. That our desire for stuff or the things of this world diminish and be replaced by a hunger and thirst for the righteousness of God and entrance into his kingdom where we can go and buy bread without money. Lord God in Heaven, Father of all, please pour out your blessing upon those who truly love the Lord Jesus Christ and obey his commands of loving one another as he loved us. Let thy name be glorified in all who are yours as we honestly seek to please you in all that we do. Even though we may be poor, you have indeed made us rich and we thank you for it. Please comfort us in our toil.

In Jesus Name,

Gary

Brother I'm sorry I just saw this thread now. I am praying or you. I am confident that our loving Father will provide all your needs. Remember the grass of the fields and the birds of the air. You are far more important.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Hi :

Mr Ed, I sincerely hope all works out, I trust God to know your needs and provide before you know the need, nuff said about that one. It will all work out.

A note to all about those pay day loans mentioned. And the loan companies who wish to save you and prey upon you.......oh my...what a farce. They are bondage from Satan.

My oldest son while in the military fell for that one, you know the title for the car loan.....boy.

The loan was for two thousand , and he got behind in a couple payments and the interest compounded and soon the debt was 4700 and some change........pay and pay and never get rid of it for years.

In the State of South Carolina by law there is no limit on the interest amounts that can be charge......so it is a legal loan shark operation, one dollar for one dollar.......

I found out when the bill collector called me......Yea I gave him hell on earth for that one. Then I relented and paid it for him.

That stuff will take you down, it is the way people prey on people with absolutely no compassion, it is all about greed.

So if you ever have those thoughts.........please avoid them. Do without, let the finance company take the car, let them take whatever, as this is a short term situation......getting tied up with loan sharks is a long term situation.

Brother SpritLedEd,As I had to learn this very hard lesson as well, I can speak as one who had to be disciplined much myself in this! We consider what we want, by what we have, but we never consider having lack. We had no need to consider this at the time!

Until a bomb drops on us,and we start to think of how badly we used our Lord's money he gave for us. But now we think. What is the lesson though? When a brother or sister has a need, they cannot worry about the past, they are looking just to make it another day!

But now the Lord is giving us something we lacked so much in this area of our life. Balance. Our job to learn just how we are to balance in weight we have never before had to bear upon ourselfs. Now that we have our eyes opened by some unforseen problems, the question is not will God get me out of this one?? Sure he will!!

But will we learn?? And can we help another who has fallen into the same trap we ourselves have? Every trial we have ,has purpose to it!( 1 Peter 1:7-9) Sometimes when we walk up a long flight of stairs we grow tired, espically when we are older. We learn through this, that we must pace ourself.

My prayers are with you my brother!! That which is sad and hard for you now,I know God will use to not only help you,but others as well! We all here are so thankful for you,and the words Jesus has used in you to help so many of us!

Because you have acted,God will act on your behalf! And when he does this, you will understand, what I had to. What we have is not ours,we are just stewards of them. God has placed things to us,to take care of,to build on,and yes to help others as well by them.

Everything Jesus has given us is to be given unto others as well. May the Lord build you back up even as he did our brother Job. And may this increase, always remind you,or what can be lost,we we take our eyes off of what we are suppose to be good stewards of.God's property, never our property.

It took me 5 years to learn this very hard lesson! Sometimes being hardheaded is not so good! But I have learned now.I am much more thankful for what I do have! And I can encourage others as well. Every blessing be made unto you my brother in Christ! Balance! During this time here is something Holy Spirit showed me.I hope this will help you as well! ( 2 Peter 1:3-11) amen!

We serve a mighty and awesome God. I pray and I believe God is in control. No matter how things look know that he is God.

Love you in Jesus.

I fell into the payday loan trap years ago but got out of it before it was too late. To be sure, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but, by God's grace I woke up and saw what these predators were doing to me.
