Blessing to you Live.Just a thought for you to hold on to here. What many do not seem to understand,is that everyone of us at one time or another has been a Prodigal Son or daughter. The story is found in Luke 15:11-32 It is not the story, that sometimes is so important, but how the story came to be that is.
Some have worked very hard for what they believe they have, notice I said believe they have. Having means to most never losing,or always having. But those things we decide on often depends on what we keep as well. We often take things for granted in our lives, and then like a thief in the night, all that we have believed we would always have, goes away.
This does not only include things, but hope, faith, and even our self. But there is something you can always think upon, and know.God does see and God does care! Some of us,like myself had to learn the hard way about these things as well as people we also can take for granted.
Such as a parent or close friend we once believed we had. Verse13 Now the son went on a distant journey even!! unto a distant country! Talk about really wanting to run from things! There the scripture tell us he squandered his estate with loose living.Meaning to me he spent, without counting the cost of that spending!
What was to replace what he spent? This never seems to dawn on us until after we lose most everything. THEN!! We cry, then we say oh How could this ever have happened to me?? So now the man sells himself out to others,he does this because he just cannot go back home in shame!
So he looks for another way out of this, that he himself created.verse 15.Then staving almost,he thinks, hey!! Verse 17 I will go to my own father, his hired hands live better then I am,I will just work for him! I will say unto him, how sorry I am,I know I am no longer worthy to be called his son! BUT!!
Perhaps he will make me a hired hand.verse 18-19 And now a great surprise!! Like Jesus waiting for us,so the father sees him from a far off! verse 20 What does the Father do?? Does he complain at him? Does he tell him how sorry the son was for what he did??Enter Psalms 103:8-17) This is Jesus in the father! Can this be you to?
There was no reminder of the sons sins he committed, there was no recall of what the child did! There was only a father love for his child. Many have read this story, but many do not understand fully the true meaning of why he left, and the result when he came back!
The Son repented verse21 verse 22 the father said to his slaves!! not his son, QUICKLY!!!! bring out the best robe!! and put it on him! and put a ring on his hand and sandals for his feet, and and bring in the fattened calf, kill it and let us celebrate!! Let US!!!( Luke 15:4-10!!!!!!!!) This lesson we all must learn to grow in our Lord Jesus! For even as the son learned so did the father of the son! So must we!
How painful it was for me to go back home, and not be welcomed like that, but only be reminded of the sorrow and embarrassment I caused my own family! I was very fortunate!! God prepared me for 2 years before I went back home! But many are not so fortunate!
Many go back hoping, but that hope is turned to sorrow, because they who have said they hold on to Jesus, only only hold to Jesus as long as they wish to. Counting not the cost of service. Not thinking about anyone but themselves. I am sure this is not the case with you!!
But it sure is a good reminder to all of us to understand what compassion truly is,and how to show it,and better yet, why we keep it! We show it,because we always have such need of it.And we give it,because we ourselves depend upon it! ( john 8:7!!) A whole family can come closer to the Lord!!! When we are willing to learn.
May this thought encourage you,may it lead to a most happy reunion with your son,who was once lost, but one day will be found! FOUND!!!! BY JESUS!!!! IN YOU!!! blessing all!
