Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Your post also highlights the difficulty we face after 2000 years of human interpretation and logic replacing that strategically designed and given (even by a dove if you will) revelation to the apostles.

However the time is always "now is" if you live walk in faith and focus on the Lord Jesus Christ "as come in the flesh".

In the case of Peter's revelation, that didn't happen without many influences.

I agree and there are patterns and cycles to those influences that would look different with the things we face today.
Suffering and failure can be tools.

I wonder if it has occurred to anyone....When the HOLY SPIRIT is teaching you and manages to get past your preconceived ideas to make you understand a point of HIS WORD...that's a personal revelation. Just for you. It lines up with the WORD and it is a WORD from GOD.

I wonder if it has occurred to anyone....When the HOLY SPIRIT is teaching you and manages to get past your preconceived ideas to make you understand a point of HIS WORD...that's a personal revelation. Just for you. It lines up with the WORD and it is a WORD from GOD.

Two objections:

1. Unless expressed in "figures of speech", the revelation of God's salvation in distinct terms of both the Father and Jesus is Biblically questionable. The likely thing to happen is what is prophesied in Zechariah 14: 8-9: "When that day comes, fresh water will flow from Jerusalem, ... . Then the LORD will be king over all the earth; everyone will worship him as God and know him by the same name."

"The day" signifies Christ's death on the cross, as his defining moment by the Holy Spirit, disproving the whole world about sin because of its total ignorance about "the Father", a.k.a., "a figure of speech" already made spurious upon Christ's self-revelation and use of plain language, a.k.a., personal vision. In other words, Jesus Christ is the "I Am Who I Am", God Almighty and the Father. (John 8: 21-32; 16: 5-33)


2. "Personal revelation ... begins with belief" places the effect before the cause contrary to the goal of the gospel, a.k.a., "Do you believe just because I told you I saw you when you were under the fig-tree? You will see much greater things than this! I am telling you the truth: you will see heaven open and God's angels going up and coming down on the Son of Man." (John 1: 50-51)

In other words, one can be 100% certain about who Jesus Christ is through the benefit of the vision promised initially, developed subsequently and "finished" on the last day, i.e., Christ's death on the cross, as acknowledged and successfully applied by the Apostles on the day of Pentecost. (Ibid, 19: 30-37; Acts 2) Amen!

The only way is to obey those words of Jesus in John 14. Those who comply will receive a personal manifestation of both the Father God and Jesus, that personal revelation of God that saves. It's a supremely precious manifestation of awareness and knowledge that the world can't figure out with the best of minds among men. Those that will not believe on Jesus when the opportunity opens up will immediately be blinded spiritually by Satan, rendering the hesitant hearer even more distanced from any possibility of that manifestation. 2 Cor. 4:[1] Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; [2] But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. [3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. [5] For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
[6] For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Personal revelation we are speaking of begins with belief. It is the same as that manifestation Jesus spoke of. Upon believing, the light enters and prevents darkness from blinding us. In that light we receive the revelation of Christ through a personal manifestation of God that the world cannot comprehend. Few people break through by way of faith, requiring a convincing of their natural mind first, then believing what their natural eyes and ears experience. There is no personal revelation of God for them until they face the Judgment of God.
