How can anyone today have personal revelation of "the way, the truth and the life", a.k.a., Jesus Christ? (John 14)

There is only one revelation and That is Jesus Christ.
In this revelation we live and move and have our being.
There's only one person and that is the one whom God sent.

Everything else is a shadow manifestation of part revelation.

Sorry! Your "one revelation of Jesus Christ" eludes the outline defined in John 14 in anticipation of the original (which I leave for your conclusion).

I did not attempt to answer your question because I see it as not valid.
You altered the meaning of my statement "There is only one revelation and That is Jesus Christ".
I did not say or imply that we receive "one revelation of Jesus Christ".

Jesus Christ IS the revelation of the Father of himself to us.
The one God sent =the one God revealed
There is only one God and the one he sent is his revelation of himself who sent us,who are now also his revelation of himself in Christ.

Your question had to do with us receiving not revealing. We can't reveal what you don't know.

If you said:
How can anyone today receive a manifestation of God's revelation of "the way, the truth and the life", a.k.a., Jesus Christ?

This would be by loving God and the one he sent.
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, e and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

One God one revelation, one person=Jesus Christ Amen

I don't know what qualifies you to invalidate an admittedly challenging question, which deserved 40 days of overtime training and rehearsal for the first disciples of Jesus Christ.

If you change your mind, the question is: How can one today personalize the promise of Christ's perpetual self-revelation? (John 14: 18-21)

Again I can not answer the question as asked because I would have to consider the work of Jesus as unfinished.

Let me break this communication gap down:

How can one?
My mind says there is only one and that is God and the one God sent.

My mind says there is only one Day and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
He IS the day,the day of the Lord and the day that the Lord has made.

personalize the promise of Christ's perpetual self-revelation?
My mind says that's what Adam tried to do,to be another person outside of God who would forget who he actually was until God sent one to reveal that there is only one.

I would not need to personalize anything about Christ unless I intend to be separate from his person.
There are two persons but one of them is a lie.Adam was a person who became a lie.
Jesus Christ is the only person who God sees therefore "Christ in us" IS his perpetual revelation to I am/us/himself.
The one whom God sent is God's revelation of himself to the world.

Maybe someone who's mind doesn't see things like I am would see it as a valid question but I just wanted to provide some contrast and the way I read your question it says:
How can Jesus Jesus Jesus?

I'm a little confused about this thread. EphremHagos, would you mind writing saying what has prompted you to ask this question. Is it something that you are seeking an answer to yourself, or are you wanting people to participate in the discussion in the hope that others will discover something that you already know?
Thanks

I don't know why you are too nitpicky.

I agree I was being way to nit picky, honestly I was somewhat intimidated by your question and I prayed for an answer and that's the one I got.

Maybe the Lord is trying to teach us both something.
Perhaps he would like us to edify, exhort, and nurture the body rather than prove that as an individual we have superior knowledge of the scriptures.

Would it be possible to share what you see that others may not.
God set it up so that we need each cell in the body to distribute the necessary nutrients to the entire body and the cells may be to depleted to waist energy with a complicated extraction process.
So I apologize and knowing that you will forgive me I suggest we both try be as easy to understand as possible to benifit more than just a few cells.

Apology unconditionally accepted!

Any privileged knowledge learnt personally and directly from the Teacher, a.k.a., Jesus Christ (in his perpetual self-revelation), according to the Scriptures, is exclusively to his credit but not to any man’s (least of all myself). I pray that you agree and follow suit.

The question at hand is actually a most challenging one as it has been in the days of the first disciples of Jesus. The challenge refers to what we unfortunately overlook, viz.: the programmed instruction on the hard question of applied knowledge on Jesus Christ's divinity and absolute authority over death and life.

Such knowledge requires a radical change in man’s way of thinking. (Matt. 16: 22-23)

Two different occasions of specialized training for only 3 disciples selected out of 12, followed by a 40 day rehearsal for all, come to mind.

1. Initial Transfiguration on “a high mountain” and the accompanying LIVE testimonies by Moses and Elijah being linked to Jesus Christ’s upcoming Spirit-active, perfect and diacritical death on the cross (Matt. 17: 1-13; Luke 9: 28-36)

2. Retreat to Gethsemane for the purpose of ridding Peter and the two sons of Zebedee of their fear of death (Matt. 26: 36-46; John 18: 1-11)

3. Last “instructions by the power of the Holy Spirit” near the eve of the day of Pentecost (Acts 1: 1-5)

I agree I was being way to nit picky, honestly I was somewhat intimidated by your question and I prayed for an answer and that's the one I got.

Jesus Christ (in his perpetual self-revelation),
I don't think I understand what you mean by "self revelation".
I'm from the USA so I really don't understand English very well.
We have a saying here that applies well and that is could you dumb it down a little".

I can only think"the one God sent..aka Jesus Christ" is God revealing himself.
No man can receive this revelation until the Spirit binds the strong man(my carnal mind)
and the mind of Christ is allowed full rein.

Such knowledge requires a radical change in man’s way of thinking. (Matt 16:22-23)

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

I said in a previous post that there are only two men and one of them "is not" because they are a lie.
Adam became a lie because he deviated(missed the mark) from the eternal(perpetual) Truth that is Christ.
Jesus revealed to Peter that any mind that does not savor the divine plan savors the lie/man/satan/devil/beast/false profit/son of perdition/carnal mind etc..

It's interesting to note that is commonly taught that Satan wants to destroy man but Jesus tells us that he savours the things of Man.

Help me to understand what you mean by "perpetual self revelation" first, then I can move on to the rest.

Matthew 16

<dir><dir>15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"16 Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not
revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
</dir></dir>
Matthew 6

All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to
reveal him.

Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will
wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Only one sits on the throne of God!

To "dumb it down a little" is a very practical thing to do. Thanks for the excellent suggestion! Let's do it.

According to the context, personal revelation can be deconstructed as actually "seeing the Son of Man come as King", i.e., in the glory of his Father with his angels, in order to "repay everyone according to his deeds".

The latter part is the bottom line of personal knowledge of Jesus Christ is, a.k.a., "the Messiah, the Son of the living God", altruistically referred to as "my church", whom"not even death will ever be able to overcome": a humanly inconceivable concept of immortality, and therefore, the stuff of revelation. (Matt. 16: 13-28)

Although the experience will always prove to be altogether "wonderful and marvellous things that we know nothing about", the impact is deeply life-transforming giving rise to an opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. This is "the Good News from the glorious and blessed God" or the source of sound doctrine summarized by Paul. (1 tim. 1: 10-11)

More feedback is highly welcome!

I think I understand you but only because of an experience.
Without that experience I might tell you I understand but there would be no power in my understanding because it would just be more information that I warehouse in the carnal understanding.

The "seeing" will cause the destruction of your carnal understanding and make man's wisdom sound like babble.
The book of the revelation of Jesus Christ will cease to be a future mystery and become the revelation of Christ formed in you or actually us.God's word becomes reality instead of input from the 5 senses.

I'm not sure if that is what you mean but that is how I see things.

The important thing is that we agree on and experience personally the given perpetual self-revelation by Jesus Christ in his defining moment, a.k.a., "Christ's death on the cross".

Growth in his grace and knowledge
will follow without any effort on our part as in the Parable of the Growing Seed. (Mark. 4: 26-29)

Amen!

"The Word was the source of life and this life brought light to mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out." (John 1: 4-5)

The "source of life", of the self-sufficient type (or eternal life), is characteristically and conclusively and perpetually defined once and for all in Christ's death on the cross, a.k.a., the one and only Biblically known way for outsourcing the Holy Spirit for revealing Jesus Christ as Lord by merit. (Ibid, 19: 30-37).

This is the whole rationale for the calling of the first disciples, the focus of their training, the subject of 40-day rehearsal, basis of commissioning and area of expertise demonstrated on the day of Pentecot. (Acts 2)

Bu the grace of god, it is open for verification today by the whole world!

How can anyone today have personal revelation of "the way, the truth and the life", a.k.a., Jesus Christ? (John 14)

The only way is to obey those words of Jesus in John 14. Those who comply will receive a personal manifestation of both the Father God and Jesus, that personal revelation of God that saves. It's a supremely precious manifestation of awareness and knowledge that the world can't figure out with the best of minds among men. Those that will not believe on Jesus when the opportunity opens up will immediately be blinded spiritually by Satan, rendering the hesitant hearer even more distanced from any possibility of that manifestation. 2 Cor. 4:[1] Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; [2] But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. [3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. [5] For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
[6] For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Personal revelation we are speaking of begins with belief. It is the same as that manifestation Jesus spoke of. Upon believing, the light enters and prevents darkness from blinding us. In that light we receive the revelation of Christ through a personal manifestation of God that the world cannot comprehend. Few people break through by way of faith, requiring a convincing of their natural mind first, then believing what their natural eyes and ears experience. There is no personal revelation of God for them until they face the Judgment of God.

The terms of the "new covenant" (Jer. 31: 31-34) and Jesus Christ personally teach, on the one hand, one and the same thing, viz.: firsthand and direct inspiration of individuals without the need for either human intermediaries or Scriptures whatsoever. (Matt. 16: 13-28; 17: 1-13)

Christians today, on the other hand, disobey blindly by outdoing Simon Peter in the number of “tents” we have built for our teachers (at least 40 of them).

If we obey the words of Jesus in John 14 by paying attention to the key words, like "know" and "going" (correct me if these are not strictly associated with Christ's death on the cross) and tracking them to the end, the outcome and our answer to the question in the OP will be a complete surprise on a par with the testimonies of the Apostles!

In the case of Peter's revelation, that didn't happen without many influences. I would list some of those influences, such as hearing Jesus' words; comparing them to the then available scriptures; observing the actions of Jesus; witnessing many miracles and testimonies of the healed/delivered; believing and seizing upon the opportunity Jesus presented to enjoy friendship with Him, and of course the opening of the eyes of faith by the Father, perhaps by visitation of the Holy Spirit, unto understanding and agreement with the Spirit. I must conclude that human intermediaries or Scriptures were then and remain essential to expansion of the gospel, each paving the way towards belief by faith, followed by revelation/manifestation. The reason is God's plan calls upon people to go, to preach the gospel, to make disciples. It isn't ordained that people get the revelation/manifestation of Christ and the Father without having presented before the Father though preaching and or reading the scriptures, and believing. Preparedness towards personal revelation of the Lord is highly organized within the Kingdom of Heaven, lest the glorious light of God shine upon people who reject Him. God uses the "foolishness" of preaching to confound the wicked, while the slightest act of belief in that same good news opens one up to revelation and promised manifestation.
