Overcoming Backsliding

Thank you for your post....

Yes, I do not like the saying I am a sinner saved by grace. I always say, I was a sinner saved by grace. You see when I repented and the Holy Spirit came inside of me and Jesus washed me with His blood. I was made clean. Always rememeber the verse that says "IF I sin I have advocate Jesus Christ, IF is the key word. Do I have to sin no, do I not sin somedays I can go without sinning, but will I say I will never sin again can not say that. I will live in today and Jesus will help me not to sin I pray. I did not hear anything on here about judging, it says to take the speck out of your eye first then you are able to see and judge. We are not to judge those outside of the body of Christ. But, we can judge those I sit with everyday. there is a Biblical way to deal with that also.
Just my two cents.

Blessings,

debbi

I completely respect you saying what you did about not liking being called a sinner saved by grace.
I hope that one day I can think like you. I am a wretched sinner....I have been redeemed, and I know that my life is a living testament to God's saving power. I have come a long way from where I used to be. I agree that I do not live in sin, meaning I do not live in sin everyday, some days can be decent, others awesome, and yet some days, those sins come back to visit me, then I am moved to repent, for I love the peace that only God can give.

But this is the deal with me....here, as in all my posts, I place a huge mirror in front of me when I am talking....so half of the time, I may be talking about myself. AND when I point the finger, and judge those inside, as you have said, I may point one finger and then three at me (try it)

I do not feel that I am a mature Christian enough to be able to judge others. I still have alot to learn. I understand that judging those outside of the church is a no no, and to judge those in the church is a serious thing.....but someone has to judge, because the Bible tells us several times to "judge"

Again, taking the log out to be able to judge is something that is very serious in nature. When do we not have a log in our eyes? this is a note worthy question. And I am asking for my own benefit.

It's almost as if God were speaking to us as he did those who wanted to stone the adulteress?

Please respond FAITHWORKS.:girl_hug:

Yes, Singlemom, some days can be harder than others, but we can call on Jesus and we know, that "All things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens me." If I say again His name He will deliver me out of the (sin) situation whatever it is. I try always to remember are past and sins are as far as the east is the west. AMEN!!!!

Now about judging, yes I have look at myself always first then can I judge rightly. He will give me all wisdom and understanding into these things. You see I have been sober 19 years now and the Good Lord has taught me alot and still does. But, I do know He (Jesus) will not tell us in His word to do something He will not do through us "IF" we let Him. Tht brings me back to the verse, "Be Holy for I Am Holy." We are made in His image.

Blessings to you sister in the Lord,

reply on backsliding

i struggle with this and it is something i'm not proud of. i have read somewhere in the bible not sure where, but when u do backslide 7 demons enter u? or come after u? can u explain this to me and since it's in the bible i know it's true, but am i reading into this wrong or what? Am i in need of an exorsist or how ever u spell it? Also, i struggle with once saved always saved. I do and don't believe in this therory. Help me in this matter plzzzzzzzzz! Shannen

That's talking about demon possesion.

When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation." (Matthew 12: 43-45)

re 2 demon possesion

ok thanks the that info but it still didn't answer my questions concerning this matter.:coocoo:

I think anyone ( including Christian ) can have demonic influence in their life, doesnt mean they are possess.Which is a big difference.

Most people who are tormented by demons are satanist, witches or anyone in the occult deeply.

1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

This message for, both christians and un believers telling us to be on our guard.

Ephesians 6:12
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and Blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the Darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

With this warning he also told us.
JAMES 4:7 NKJ
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

If a Christian is feeding their Sin instead of fleeing, it means the enemy will be active in their life.

We are told to

EPHESIANS 6:11-13
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

This warfare exist everyday.
Even though many of us have Witness a Revelation of satanic power, God won at the end. No confusion to who's more powerful.

Romans 16:20
20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen

Luke 10:19
19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Revelation 12:11
11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

We have the victory, we have to flee from sin an live in "Freedom" Christ intended.

Hello Shannen,
Yes, you asked some important questions. Also in the scriptures it says if you know the word and turn away from it, it is worse for you. Because we know the truth and do not do it. No, I do not believe once saved always saved I can lose salvation if I turn from God. Did I wake up this morning and doubt my salvation, No I did not. But, I believe if I go back to my old ways and stay there then yes I have lost my salvation. He will turn us over to a reproate mind. That is why I through Him inside of me I can try and stay on the narrow path. Am I perfect NO.
But back to your question shannen do get someone to pray over you in Jesus's name there is all power in that name, name above all names. YEs, rizen I agree we have the victory in Christ and we have to live in it...

Blessings,
debbi

Sealing of the Holy Spirit

i struggle with this and it is something I'm not proud of. i have read somewhere in the bible not sure where, but when u do backslide 7 demons enter u? or come after u? can u explain this to me and since it's in the bible i know it's true, but am i reading into this wrong or what? Shannen? or Shannon?

This topic is so dear to my heart........although I strongly believe that we will see Jesus at the end of our time here on earth, I strongly believe that once someone becomes a believer, they are sealed unto the day of redemption.

As you talk about this my mind went to the Apostle Peter at once....where Jesus tells him in Matthew 16:23 ...." But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, satan! you are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

Was Peter born again at this time? Some will say that it might not have happened til' Acts 2. I am convinced that Peter could not have said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God," in a previous chapter.

If indeed Peter was a saved at this point in time, then Satan was clearly using Peter to attempt to discourage Jesus for dying for whatever sin you find yourself in.....and my sin...and those of the world.

I just heard a message yesterday, the Pastor of The Master's Seminary, he is awesome.....he preached about this......he said that Satan can still whisper things to us when we are not following the Lord closely......this is a very loose quote......but I believe that was the jest of it.

In Luke 22:32, The Lord tells Peter, ".....Simon, Simon! Indeed, satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat."
v.33. "But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to me, strengthen your brethren."

I believe that the reason you are asking, is because you are perhaps being convicted by the Spirit, you have mentioned scripture, and the Spirit will always use the Scripture to guide us.....

Jesus has prayed for you! This prayer was for you and for me......you see, satan has asked to sift us all as wheat, but Jesus has prayed for us! And when we return........let us draw near to Him, study His word diligently......fill your thought with his word....(after all the light of the word, still dispels darkness) and pray as if your life depended on it....for it does!

When we come to the Lord, we are sealed with the Precious Spirit of promise, a guarantee of our redemption......for there is now no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.........Praise God!

Can satan dwell in us once the Precious Spirit is within us? This does not mean that he cannot persuade us to act according to his pleasure....we leave that open when we fail to put on the full armor of

Also, Remember that even the Archangel Gabriel/Michael, did not dare to rebuke satan, but said, "The Lord rebuke you"

But we will have to account for our decisions and what we chose to do here on earth. But once we draw near to God, and return to Him, seek His mercy and His grace.....satan will flee........for the Bible states, "resist the devil, and he will flee from you." again, loose quote.

The President of The Master's Seminary in Santa Clarita, CA and Pastor of the "Grace to you" radio program, is preaching on wearing the Armor of God....I don't know if you can listen to it....

Otherwise, C.S. Lewis, has a series of books, called, "The Screwtape Letters." They are specific for this topic.......it depicts Satan and his minions working in the life of a believer.

Hope this helps.......................Agape Love to you!

In His Precious Name, because of, and for His honor and glory,
Singlemom

P.s.....a side note.....for those of you wondering, if you cannot already tell.......I am somewhat Calvinistic in my belief system....though God's word is Primary, always.......Amen.

That's okay singlemom, I do not argue about Calvinists or others. Just as long as you believe in Jesus is the way and the truth and believe the word of God. I am not Calvinistic though. I went to Moody Bible School, they teach that there. So I did some rreading in the word with the Holy Spirit guiding me and not some man. Jesus tells me to live a Holy Life and we are made in His image. To me that means I am not to go back to living like the world, His word says not drunkered or liar or theif or if we have these in our hearts we are still commiting them will have no part of the Kingdom of God. So I again I say I better stay on the the narrow path He has laid out for me.
Yes, the armor of God is so real and we all need it. I was once never to take it off sleep with it on keep it on 24/7 so now I do. Praise the Lord!!!

Blessings all,
debbi
