Once saved always saved???

EVERY scripture is not to the Elect,

All are to the churches , but the churches are not filled with only the elect!

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

2Co 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The church [body of OUR LORD ] Is the elect!

The called can be the elect after being tested and tried!

1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold thatperisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

I would say, This is one of the hardest scriptures in the bible!
Because , it tells us to compare Spiritual with spiritual!
This would mean? We would take scripture from different parts of the bible , comparing them to others that are spiritually in agreement!

This would never be accepted by the carnal minded!
When first born again, we are carnal minded still, outwardly and many stay that way all there lifes in the flesh!
Lots never grow !

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

We Must learn to think in spiritual terms first above all else.as it is the enternal things.
the flesh is but for a short time.

Spirit1st, I have to say that your posts in this thread have been very redundant, we all know what you believe. To continue posting the same things over and over is not going to make everything you post true. You have made your points and others have made theirs, can't we just let it rest?

Yeah, Spirit1st, you've said all you can say. I believe what you believe also, but if people think they can lose something they got from God's grace and not by their works in the first place, so be it. Just pray that they read the scriptures in the true context and the truth is revealed unto them. We cannot convince them, but God can by His Holy Word.

When we are born, we cannot be unborn. A statement like that is just silly to say. I believe it is the same way with being born spiritually. Once God has saved us by his grace alone, we are saved forever. We didn't get saved because we were good enough or because we did good works.

John 3:6-7
6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." KJV

And then you say, people are straying away from God and never turning back to him, it is obvious they are not saved. Who are you to say if they are saved or not? The only people that know that for sure is God and that person. Sometimes people think they are saved and really they aren't. When I was little I said a little prayer to God and thought I was saved. I did it because I knew it was the right thing to do, but I didn't fully understand why I needed to be saved. Then later on God showed me my sins and why I needed to be saved. So then I fully put my trust in God and he saved me and there is no way I'm going to turn my back fully on God. Yeah, I'm going to sin, but the Holy Spirit I received when I was saved is going to get me back where I need to be. You know why? Because I'm one of God's sheep and He is a great shepherd! He knows His sheep. Do you know the voice of the Lord? If not, you better make sure your salvation is true. If you're not feeling conviction after you sin, you better be making sure because judgment day is coming and not everyone that says Lord, Lord will enter the gates of heaven.

John 10:3-4
3 "To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice." KJV

People fully turn their back on God because they were never saved in the first place. The saved will continue to serve God and also struggle because the devil is smart and he isn't happy about our salvation. So he is going to do everything he can do to mess with us.

1 John 2:19
"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." KJV

IF saved, always saved.

God Bless

This is hold debate junk really becomes a problem because no wonder it really getting my last nerves right now because people don't agree with each other because that why people follow man but not Jesus because people being stuck up with traditions nowadays:embarasse:embarasse like most of you here because I don't care if your Calvin, Baptist, Church of God in Christ, Church Of God, Church Of Christ, Pentecostal or any traditional junk because you people need to turn around for good and stop following man!!!:

I hope I'm not offending no one but you got to understand that I don't really trust most of people here that says about this info because I know what the Holy Ghost trying led me here because you people here acting like is not simple enough to understand because this is why I was confuse in some point not so recent ago, so I know is not of God because the bible says that God is not a God of Confusion:lightbulb

I'm going to quote myself below, which was a response to TonyB's post which I found was great and simple truth.

There is no reason to even have to study so hard to figure out this very simple thing. Its just simple logic. You abandon someone, you abandon your relationship with that person. Same with Christ. You abandon Him, you lose your relationship with Him, and of course Salvation.

More common sense, you expect to be "saved" and go to Heaven if you abandon Jesus? I think not.
Now, I'm curious if one can prove to me what more you need to know than the above, which is logically simple truth and common sense. I certainly enjoy people quoting Scripture left and right, but at the same time GOD did give us ample brain power to figure out certain things in the easiest way. Please, can someone show me why this *is* so difficult for others to understand when the simple truth is right in front of you?

Let's try this again...

Salvation = free gift from GOD found only in Jesus Christ alone
Salvation = you receive this free gift by GOD's grace, through our faith in Jesus Christ. This is the start of a relationship with GOD in Jesus Christ
Salvation = ongoing process, aside the initial acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior

Jesus Christ = our Savior, the giver of Salvation...who gives Salvation to those who believe in Him and have a genuine relationship with Him (in effect, being humble, faithful, obedient)

Conclusion...

You walk with Christ, you're saved.
You walk away from Christ, your not saved

Now, why on earth is this very simple thing turning into a senseless debate back and forth?

Thread locked. 9 pages long has gotten into a debate and complexity rather than a simple truthful *Holy Spirit* response to a simple question.

You claim that all scripture was written to the churches. Interesting. The church did not exist in Old Testament times. Also, Timothy, Philemon, and Titus were not churches; they were church leaders.
