@Brad Huber -- In Luke 23: 39 - 43 vs 40 - 41 -- the one thief acknowledged His need and that this Man had done nothing wrong. and asked "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom" and then was assured that that very day he would be with Him in Paradise."
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He went to Paradise to get those who'd trusted / believed and took them back up with Him when He resurrected on that 3rd day. That one thief was one of Them. The last person To accept even while on the cross. A 'death bed' acceptance -- he still had to acknowledge his need and Jesus Christ as Lord.

RCC Has done more for Christianity than any body of believers. They are Christians as well, they have given us great teachers of the faith great interpreters and Bible translators of the Faith. Men and women. The KJV and the 1st few English translators where "taught by the RCC. And there are still Godly women and men in the RCC! The Roman Catholic Church, belongs to GOD just like all of the rest of God's Churches. And I am tried of watching people talk badly about the RCC and their church is so good. Like their doctrine is so great without error and RCC church doctrine is with error.

It seems, including me have "misssed the mark" many of times throughout the years by a country mile, and have done more damage than good! To ourselves and to the choices we have made, and we have failed to confess our faults to one another and tried to cover them up like a woman that tries to hide her age from those who know not the truth that she may deceived the rest by a lie. But, by starting off, she knows that a "little leaven will spoil the whole lump", " he that is faithful in little is faithful in much", "a little lie will grow into bigger lies". After that, we cannot discern rightful judgment in anything pertaining to the Gospel According to Jesus! For now we have a different Gospel according to us with our own "Private Interpretation"! And we all have failed into error, and have become contaminated, adulterated and our message has become foul.
Sue, we are in agreement somewhat to our ability of understanding, for I take not my instructions and understanding from no man or denominations. I trust no man or woman concerning the instructions of God, but I do examine their words of "trying to explain events and happenings to try to convey a truth that is unexplainable, by the words of a human mind.

Or a "Christophany". For their are many scholars in Christianity who try and write about such things they have never experience . But always describing something about what they have heard. If you have not been through the "Dark night of The Soul" how can you write about it and there are those who think they have and wrote about it but those who been through it knows the writer have not. A lot of Christians talk and write about things they know nothing about but think they do. For this to is common. And now GOD has also close down a many of "Christian book stores and publishers" for they have made "merchandise" of "The Word of God" as well. Sad, and they do not see it.
All of this is recorded in "Holy Scripture" so we that sees these things, are not discourage when others don't and others are mis lead in writings and thoughts.

No, Jesus did not say today you will be with me in my kingdom! Meaning that day.
Jesus said: Truly I say unto you TODAY, you shall be with me in Paradise!
In other words " I am saying these words TODAY! You shall be with me in Paradise!
There is a difference, a lot of non bible teachers and nominals have mess up the Gospel of Jesus Christ so bad a person with 20/20 cannot see the truth in God's Word!
Look also at the time period, when did Jesus go to heaven, and did the Bible say when he died, where did he go? And how many days was he there? Then after. 3 days How many days he walked upon the earth? And why did he say: do not touch me to the women. And what day was that? And what day did the thief on the cross die?
Your teaching is in error! And those who know the truth and stand by and say nothing are in error too!
Shame on those who knows the truth! And will not instruct her to the truth of God's Word. A little leaven destroys the whole Truth of God's Word! In this fashion!

There are no popes in Scripture. There is no Biblical foundations for Purgatory. There is no Biblical basis for the Vatican. So -- since we are to stay within the confines of Scripture -- lets do so. Baptism by immersion / no justification for infant sprinkling . An infant is not capable of making any personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. And that is the prerequisite For baptism by immersion.

Now I dont equate paradise to heaven, but neither do we go to the place that the rich man went to, paradise is a good place, and the thief did meet Jesus there so....
And paradise will be like heaven compared to this earth as it is.
The term "Paradise" is sometimes referred to as 'heaven' by some people. It is / was one of the compartments of Abraham's Bosom.
So, no one goes to Paradise when they die. They are with Jesus Christ --in heaven-- doing whatever they are doing there. We Do know that 'they' will be coming back with Jesus Christ when He is here for the 1,000 yrs reign.
Both locations / Hades / Paradise Were located in Abraham's Bosom. The part called Paradise is empty. Only Hades / Sheol -- whatever a person chooses to call it - has non-repentant people in it. Such as the rich man.

I do wonder about a few things, and can only speculate, but Paradise may have well been in Abrahams bosom not actually heaven, and AB may very well been in the center of the earth and there spirits had to go someplace when they died.

I am not referring to office of The Papacy i am referring to the Christians who belong To the Roman Catholic Church! And as I am concern and many other pertaining to "pastors" in denominations are not Biblical as well! But was created by The Replace words from The Roman Catholic Church leadership instigated in the "AV" with King James in cahoots. He wanted , King James, the rule over all, The Papacy wanted to rule over "Christianity" the people. So there was a "slight of the pen"! and In time, "The Protestant" followed suit. And created "Little Popes" each Church had its "Pope" under the headings of "pastors", Bishops, and so forth instead of ruling "Elders"! So in essence The Great ***** of Revelation is The Roman Catholic Church and Her off springs, her little children, are not all the Little churches we have are imitating Their daddy, The Pope,
Just like "Luther",said: "The Roman Cathloic Church is a Great ***** and I love her, for she is my Mother, if it was not for Her, I never would have known Jesus"!

The church was developing their Own ideas -- that were Not Scriptural. There were various men who Tried to reform the Church from within, but the heirarchy did Not like that. I'm thinking it was Martin Luthers' 99 Theisis that was published. The Protestant Reformation began. Godly men from within the RCC who were Protesting that which the church was teaching. From this came the Lutheran Church, the Presbyterian, Methodist and much later the Baptists developed.

deep abyss called Tartarus; which is utilized in the New Testament at 2Pet 2:4.

@ Beetow -- you're refering to the Luke passage as Jesus Christ 'vacationing'?! Your concept of 'vacationing' is Very different than mine. Jesus Christ did not vacation -- He Did try to get a few minutes rest in order to talk to His Father in heaven. Jesus Did go to Abraham's bosom to take those in the Paradise side back up with Him. And I Think that He also presented the Gospel once more to those in the Hades's side -- their last chance to accept Jesus Christ. And Then He proceeded back up to Earth and rose again bodily on the 3rd day.

If you are not a "Greek Major" and Cannot read The Greek Manuscript or understand the Greek Syntax , for studying the Original Text. Stop acting like you underesatnd "Greek words" and the Greek Grammer! Just because you can spell a "transliterated " word does not mean you understand the foreign word in the syntax it is written! The internet has created I think a bunch of "Dime Store Cowboys"! But if you have taken college or Accredit Seminary "Koine Greek" and have become familiar with the language. It is not how i feel. it is how it is. Who want wooden nickels in times like these? Can you imagine the terror on peoples faces, when they find out Hell is real and the Lake of Fire is too! And more terrifying when some thought they were going to heaven because they have been good all their life. And they see the Thief in Paradise! At this point they want to die and can't!!
The look on their faces hurts me! and added on the Paradise that you don't deserved. thats pain of a different type.
