Matt 7:13; "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
Matt 7:14; "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
How many is many? I don't know, but it would seem to be more than a few. Many will enter through the gate of destruction, and few will will enter through the gate of life.
It seems the majority of mankind will not be saved.
Are just a few being saved? Someone asked Jesus that very question, what did He say?
Luke 13:23; And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
Luke 13:24; "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
Luke 13:25; "Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'
Luke 13:26; "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';
Luke 13:27; and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'
Luke 13:28; "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
Jesus says "many" will try to enter through the narrow door, but will not be able. Obviously not everyone will be saved. It seems the majority will not be.
Rev 7:9; After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;
A great multitude.. "which no one could count".. this would seem to be a large number, but if we put this into perspective... the population of the Earth is about 8 billion. Even if 1 or 2 billion of them get saved,
that means 6 or 7 billion will not. Still 2 billion would qualify as a "great number".
Matt 7:21; "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Matt 7:22; "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Matt 7:23; "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
Not everyone who thinks they are saved actually will be. Again we see that "many" will ask Jesus didn't I do things for you? But it seems that "many" will be practicing lawlessness.
Matt 22:14; "For many are called, but few are chosen."
Many are called... Even Judas was chosen by Jesus. But few are actually chosen.
Matt 24:5; "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.
Matt 24:11; "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Mark 13:6; "Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He!' and will mislead many.
Twice within just a few verses Jesus says here.. "many" will be mislead. Why didn't He say "Just a few will be mislead"? It seems many, will be deceived and mislead.
We need to be praying and witnessing to people, sharing the gospel, but despite our best efforts.. "many" will not be saved.
