Man Was Created To Be GOD

I'm just interjecting here with one instance I know that sounds like, "Jesus said we could do the Superhero things".

Saint John, chapter 14 (NABRE):
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves.
12 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.

So there's that situation used in context like when children lift cars off their parents, or falling out of an airplane and landing in a jungle and not dying because it's not their time to die yet, or toppling buildings on a bunch of baddies in a single shove, real life things like that. One of my favorites is the elite commando that, according to (NABRE) 2 Samuel 23:8 records his incredible feat:

Laugh it off at the next action movie because the bad guys nowadays have Directed Energy Weapons, but Christians have whatever God agrees with. ONLY in that sense do I imagine that Jesus implied such in Psalm 82, and Saint John 10(v34). Really, who am I to argue context?
I agree that God can accomplish extraordinary things through ordinary people. Scripture gives us plenty of examples of that. But John 14:12 doesn't say believers will become gods or possess divine powers of their own. Jesus says believers will do greater works because He is going to the Father. And notice verse 13: "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

Who is doing the work? Jesus is. And who receives the glory? God does.

The same applies to the mighty men in 2 Samuel 23. Their extraordinary accomplishments did not make them gods.

And concerning Psalm 82, read verse 7: "But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." That hardly supports the idea that mankind was created to become divine beings.

Jesus quoted Psalm 82 in John 10:34, but He never taught that believers would become gods.

We certainly have wonderful promises in Christ. First John 3:2 says, "We shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

But being LIKE Christ does not mean becoming God.

The question remains the same. Where does Scripture actually teach that mankind was created to become gods?

God working through someone is not the same thing as that person becoming divine. We need to keep that distinction clear.

The context again is speaking towards idols, so man cannot make a god. God created us.

Again we are the sons of god.

This is honestly simple logic.
A son of a dog is a dog
the son of a cat is a cat
the Son of God is god. Jesus said this himself not me. Not going to fight against the will of god he can do whatever he wants.

A glorious body is a spiritual body. I address this with scriptures to someone else already please read it.

He literally said it, you just want to close your eyes. That's fine but stop saying Jesus never said this when he literally did.

John 10: 34
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Jesus said it, so anyone who says he never did is a liar. Notice he said "I said" because many people don't know that was Jesus talking in the old testament. He was the one who gave Moses the dietary law (which no one wants to keep), he was the one who said remember the sabbath day to keep it holy (which no one wants to keep), he was the one who spoke to Abraham and met him with bread and wine.

Hebrews 2: 5 - 6

5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. (it is subject to man who will become god and therefore man will have more power than the angels)

6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?

1 Corinthians 6: 2 - 3
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? (many people don't know this because they are too busy screaming that only God can judge me and God said himself his word will judge you) and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Man cannot judge angels unless we have more power than them. Even when the bible tells us things we still don't believe it.
Yes, Jesus said, "Ye are gods" in John 10:34. Nobody is denying that. What I'm challenging is your interpretation of what He said.

Jesus was quoting Psalm 82:6. Why not read the entire Psalm instead of stopping at the words you want to use?

Verse 7 says, "But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes."

God was rebuking those who judged unjustly. He wasn't promising that mankind would eventually become gods.

And your comparison about dogs producing dogs and cats producing cats doesn't prove anything about our relationship with God.

John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."

Notice that believers become God's children through faith in Christ. That is a wonderful promise, but nowhere does John say they become gods.

You also quoted Hebrews 2 and 1 Corinthians 6 to argue that believers will have authority over angels. I agree that Scripture says the saints will judge angels. But where does Paul say that makes us gods?

Having authority given to us by God does not make us divine. Jesus Himself said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth" (Matthew 28:18). We receive what God chooses to give us. We do not become God.

And concerning our resurrected bodies, Paul says, "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body" (1 Corinthians 15:44). I believe that. But Paul never says a spiritual body makes someone a god.

God also declares in Isaiah 44:8, "Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any."

You keep dismissing that passage because God is confronting idolatry. But the fact that He is confronting idolatry doesn't make His declaration any less true.

There is one God. We are His creation, and through Jesus Christ we can become His children. That doesn't make us gods.

So I'll ask you again. Where does Scripture actually say that human beings will become gods?

Not that we will receive eternal life, glorified bodies, or authority to judge angels. I believe all those promises.

Show me the verse that says we will become gods. Because none of the passages you've quoted actually teach that.
