Is it LAWFUL to kill animals?

Jeremiah 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

That was in regards to the Jews that have gone astray making those burnt offerings and sacrifices to Baal and other gods, including a reference to the Queen of heaven.

Jeremiah 7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord. 12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. 13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; 14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. 15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. 19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. 21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

That means what God requires of Israel for the Passover Lamb is not sin because this was done in honor of Him.

Exodus 12:1And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Isaiah 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man [...]
Again, Isaiah 66:3 is giving a metaphor for how Jews were delighting in living in sin. This is how & why God saw their sacrifices as sin also.

Isaiah 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

@Daniel L. -- we used to have a dog -- we had to have her put to sleep.

As far as the animals -- I don't parent animals -- dogs are thr the parents of dogs and cats have cats. Elephants give birth to other elephants.

Adam and eve produced human children not more animals that had been created by God.

God Does become a person's Heavenly Father as a result of our salvation.

Salvation comes through hearing , reading God's Word. By means of preaching or sharing God's Word with other human beings.

Ya don't find churches for animals or Bibles for animals. A person won't be leading any animal to faith in Christ..

And naturally like all heretics you COMPLETELY IGNORE the CONTEXT of the "Snippit" you use to support your phony argument.

Animals have ALWAYS been "food items" biblically, and no amount of verbal hocus-pocus makes them anything else. Personally I LOVE animals - some of 'em are delicious.
@Daniel L.

God gave animals and other living things for meat, BUT we are instructed not to eat the blood of those animals for our meals.

Genesis 9:1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

SO I don't. Did you have a point, here???

mankind has been created in the image of God
Yes, and because we bear the image of God, we can't kill our brothers, because God is not a murderer.
how about trees
Trees weren't given the Breath of Life, which is the Living Soul that proceeded from the Father. The animals were. Killing an animals is like killing a soul of the Father, a Breath of Life. It is just like killing a man. Don't get me wrong, humans have more value than animals, but in both cases there is loss of Breath, Soul and Life. That is the parallel that I'm speaking of. The loss of Breath, Soul and Life, which is the same in both cases. That is why killing an ox is like killing a man. Because in both cases there is loss of Breath, Soul and Life. It is a trangression against the Breath or Soul given by the Father, which is present in all creatures.
animal sacrifices
Jeremiah 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

Ezekiel 5:6 And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.

Malachi 2:8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

Psalms 51:16 For thou desirest
not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and
not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Matthew 12:7 But
if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and
hands that shed innocent blood,

Jeremiah 7:5 For if ye throughly
amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and
shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

Animals have ALWAYS been "food items" biblically
No, they haven't. Adam only ate herbs and fruits, and he lived almost 1000 years.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

That was in regards to the Jews that have gone astray making those burnt offerings and sacrifices to Baal
No, God hates all hands that shed innocent blood, and all sacrifices, not just those to Baal:

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Jeremiah 7:5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you
Are you a moving thing that liveth?

No, they haven't. Adam only ate herbs and fruits, and he lived almost 1000 years.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
@Sue D.

It was after the flood was when everything had changed for animals and mankind from only eat herbs for their meat to some animals and mankind eating flesh for meat.

I suspect the world's environment has changed for why the herbs we have not is not producing what we need from the flesh in eating meat.

Don't forget what Noah had done after the flood in coming out of the ark before God had said that in Genesis 9:1-3.

Genesis 8:15 And God spake unto Noah, saying, 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee. 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

And yet don't forget what Abel had done way before the global flood.

Genesis 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

So @Daniel L. You are not rightly dividing the word of truth here. You are applying scripture without seeing how other scripture opposes how you are applying His words to mean and since scripture cannot go against scripture is why you should doubt how you are applying scripture so you can go to Jesus Christ in asking Him for wisdom to understand His words.

Genesis 9 does not teach that humans only began to eat the flesh of animals, birds and fish AFTER the flood.
There is no scripture that teaches that prior to the flood humans were only vegetarian.

Genesis 4:2 And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground.
4:3 In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground,
4:4 and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering,

Genesis 4:19 And Lamech took two wives. The name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
4:20 Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.

So @Daniel L. You are not rightly dividing the word of truth here.
The Word endureth forever, there is no division:

Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Baruch 4:1 This is the book of the commandments of God, and the law that endureth for ever: all they that keep it shall come to life; but such as leave it shall die.

-You have to choose whom will ye serve, the Law didn't change, God didn't change, that is for sure.
It is not a sin to kill animals because it's created for meat
Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Oh no - my cats are pretty good at directing me to the feeding bowl and when it is time for a pat and a cuddle.
They rule and I serve.

@Daniel L. -- so when all these 4-footed brothers and sisters of ours have birthdays do we celebrate with ice team and cake. And when they get pregnant we have baby showers for them and present them with baby clothes?. Just wondering. Cause that's what we do with our human brothers and sisters
