The latest Republican presidential contender to throw his hat in the crowded ring for 2016 — along with Senator Ted Cruz, as reported by the Inquisitr — is Ben Carson.

Carson made his run for president known, reports the USA TODAY, when the retired neurosurgeon told WPEC-TV, a TV station out of Florida, that his famous name will be another name added to the 2016 Republican presidential race when the announcement becomes official on Monday.

The 63-year-old Carson is author of Gifted Hands, an autobiography that was also turned into a movie — a film that displayed the hard scrabble life of the man who ended up being a gifted surgeon, one able to speak the language of science and faith at the same time. Along with Carson, the NPR reports that he will likely be joined by former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina — as well as former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

“I’m willing to be part of the equation and, therefore, I’m announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America.”

The formal announcement from Carson should come in his hometown of Detroit during an event on Monday. Carson was a staunch opponent to President Barack Obama.

Carson’s famous 2013 National Prayer Breakfast speech has garnered plenty of views on YouTube.

As reported by the Christian Post, Carson’s beliefs and work as a doctor also drove him to call abortion “human sacrifice,” and liken the large number of abortions in the 21st century to the “heathen” types of tactics of former civilizations that practiced infanticide

Carson recently found himself embroiled in a small amount of controversy when the presidential hopeful had to apologize for admitting to plagiarism claims for another book he penned, titled America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great. According to the Huffington Post, it was a BuzzFeed article that exposed writings from the book were taken from websites like Socialismsucks.

Carson would be wrong. Most abortions take place before the foetus is anything other than a clump of cells and they are certainly not sacrifices to anyone.

That's inexcusable. "most" will not come out of anyone's mouth on the day of judgment for those without Christ and guilty of abortion.

You are entitled to your opinion but the scripture never speaks of abortion nor yet did Jesus, even though abortion was rife in the ancient world. What Jesus DID speak of was compassion, empathy and lovingkindness to all.

Wow I don't know what bible you read, but clearly it's not the Holy Bible. Think whatever you want.

And don't twist this thread into an abortion debate. Stick with the subject and respect the thread.

You are not smart enough or wise enough to know when true life begins. And the sacrifices are to the god of self, the idea that our personal desires for our life is more important than the life of an innocent child.

Ben Carson is a man of superb achievement in his medical role as a brain surgeon etc

However, he is trapped in the false religion of Seventh Day Adventism and it's heretical teachings.

While his academic theology is ridiculous, he does reads the KJV Holy Bible or at least a revised English Bible .

He still could made a great president, because he believes the principles of scripture, right ?

I'm watching Dr. Ben Carson right now on Fox News .

I love this guy, he just said : " You don't need a Ph.D. to talk to God, all you need is faith. "

Thank you for sharing. I was not aware of this at all. But, I have watched some of his speeches and strangely enough, he's head on with Scripture (despite 7th day LDS not being so). He's against abortion, homosexuality, obamacare, pro-gun rights (he's for the 2nd amendment).

My ultimate hope is that we get a Christian president with no apology for his belief, but foremost will honor GOD.

I really can't relate to your opinion. There are over 50 biblical verses that identify the sanctity of life, here is just one'
Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Yes the fact that Ben Carson is against abortion, homosexuality, obamacare, progun rights all sounds good

My concern is that a wolf will be taking power in terms of his beliefs
Seventh Day Adventists appear on the outside to be very upright Biblical Christians.....but their false make them no less anti-Christ than the Catholics, JW's Mormons etc
For example the belief that Jesus is the Arch Angel Michael ,The belief that there is no hell - to name a couple

Just another sign of the times

I was actually thinking the same exact thing, and the biblical fact is - eventually this is going to keep getting worst until Christ returns.

Thank GOD we have a good ending :)
