do demons influence Christians?

It's so ironic how I'm coming across posts that exactly relate to what is going on in my life. I've been told that because I am a "born again" or "newbie Christian" (this is what I call myself...) that the enemy is even more determined to break me down and destroy my new found faith.

For example: Getting my tires replaced and then have a tire roll right off when I was driving. Getting a lawyer to get this resolved and having the shop owner bury his head in the sand hoping that it will go away. There's 3000 dollars worth of damage done to my truck and that's 3000 we cannot afford.

This all happened within days of my salvation. Coincidence? Not sure...but it sure got me thinking and reading my Bible even more!

Although at first, yes. In laws of my ex-wife were challenging me. Ex-wife trying me. Lost all my old friends for preaching the Gospel and constantly attacked at my work. Possibly was denied promotions too. But at the same time, miracles happened more frequentley and still do. I have a Christian wife and Christian friends. Plus my life became more meaningful and full.

Oh and another recent event...

Forgot to add this one on my original post: My best friend of 11 years completely unfriended me on Facebook and made a rather huge deal that I was a Christian. Can't help but think the enemy is definitely at work here...again more praying and Bible reading for sure!

do demons influence Christians?

I can tell you that they do not influence me.....and having a vibrant faith in Jesus....I influence them. Quite often.

The bible informs us to "resist the devil....and he will flee from you". It is a simple matter to get him running if you think he is the problem....in any way.

Like Jesus, to talk to him, tell him what you have read in the "book" Tell him to clear off in the Name of Jesus.

Get the boot in......the bible.....he has no power, he lost the victory at Calvary....

Amen x 10! We care called to resist and like Christ in His trials we answer such attacks with the Word of God. At the end of the day we need to be found abiding in Christ, walking in the Spirit and the devil will (try as he might) find no place (no foothold in our lives) in us.

Several years ago there were two errors that popped up. one was that we should thank God for trials. Thank you Lord for giving me Cancer in other words. the truth is we should give thanks to God in trials for our healing, not for the trial itself, but thanks and praise for deliverance before
it manifests.

The other which Ken Copeland advocates is we don't ever have any trials.
or after growing in faith we shouldn't have any because we should have control of everything. Based on his other heredical doctrines-- not at this time so we can stay on the subject at hand.
Every trial which sometimes can be some opposition, must be overcome by faith---but first there must be a trial. He specifically states we should have no---trials. Positive confession can be understood through the case of Moses at the sea. first the trial---Pharaoh is coming, then as God said to Moses you stretch out the rod and command the sea.

This doesn't always occur as we know Stephen is stoned to death even though he confesses he sees Jesus standing there looking down. The blessing of going to heaven does not eliminate the trial, nor does a confession change God's eternal purposes as in Stephen's case.

The object of learning wisdom is to made better, not angry which is to forfeit wisdom, my own wisdom here.

To be clear, God turns all things to work for good, and a positive confession is like the aroma of a sweet smelling savor. the key word is balance of truth.

First error.
Ephesians 5:19-21 (King James Version)

<sup class="versenum" id="en-KJV-29324">19</sup>Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
<sup class="versenum" id="en-KJV-29325">20</sup>Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Where's the error? Blaming God for making you sick.

1 Peter 2:24 (King James Version)

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

GOD gave HIS SON for your healing then makes you sick? What HE doesn't know HIS own mind?

LOL So you're right. Thank GOD for the mess we're in because we get to see HIM do HIS thing in our lives.

Error number 2

Kenneth Copeland never said any such thing. He tells of times when he came under attack and was crippled up with major back pain just a few years ago. He tells of how GOD delivered him when he stood on HIS WORD.
He does not teach positive confession at all. He teaches speaking GODs WORD over your life.
Its very painfully obvious that you have never listened to Copeland. You've only listened to the enemy.

The man teaches of how JESUS only spoke or did what HE saw the Father do or speak, and how we are to do the same.

You sow discord when you talk against GODs anointed.

All throughout the Bible there are examples of how God dealt with those that rose up and spoke against God’s man such as:

  • When Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, Miriam was plagued with leprosy (Num. 12:9-10).
  • When the people of Israel spoke against God and Moses (Num. 21:5-6), God sent fiery serpents to chastise them for their sin.
  • When Korah and over 250 others spoke against Moses and Aaron (Num. 16:2-3), God allowed the earth to swallow Korah and the others up.
  • When children mocked God’s man, Elisha (II Kings 2:22-23), God allowed two she bears to destroy 42 of the mockers.
  • History tells us that Pontius Pilate, who ordered Jesus’ death, died by suicide.
  • Judas turned against Jesus, and became so miserable about what he had done against Jesus that he killed himself (Mat. 27:5).
  • The thief that perished on the cross with Christ, spoke against Jesus, and did not get saved and go to heaven.
David would not go against King Saul, even though the King did wrong several times against him. David’s heart was, “The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD'S anointed: …” I Samuel 26:11. David knew it was wrong to oppose God’s man. However, today there are many that have not the fear or respect to restrain themselves from talking against or doing ill against the leader God has placed over the local church.
The pastor of any church certainly is not perfect. No one will agree with everything anyone does, let alone the many decisions the local shepherd has to make. He probably would not agree with all we do, either. However, he is the leader of the local church that God has for this time and should be obeyed, respected, and encouraged. Unless when scriptural error is involved, God takes him home, or God relocates him, he is to stay the church leader.
Belittling and questioning his ministries does much damage:

  • Murmuring against God’s man is sin, and sin can only do harm to one’s life. One will not be all he can be with any sin in his life.
  • Murmuring about another’s work for Christ will put one in a position of judging (Mat. 7:1), and that is the Holy Spirit’s job, in most situations, not ours.
  • Complaining about the pastor, or any other church leader or facet of the church, is only going to spread discontent among others. It will sow seeds of discord, and in most cases, will only hinder, not build, the ministry (Proverbs 6:16-19). Division among members will result, when the leader is opposed.
  • Speaking against the pastor, or other God-appointed leader, could hinder the Holy Spirit of God from working in one’s life or could bring the wrath of God on the violators.
  • Speaking ill against God’s man will not encourage the pastor in doing all he can do. It discourages most pastors, and the body of Christ will surely suffer.
  • When we talk about or question what the pastor is doing (or other church leaders, for that matter) we are negating his authority to the listeners. If it is our children that hear us roast the preacher after a sermon, it may not be long until the children lose respect for his ministry, and do not heed the biblical advice that is delivered from the pulpit or classroom. One day the parent may wonder why the children are not following what was taught in church from the Bible. They would never suspect their own bad-mouthing of the preacher in their home had taught them that if the parents do not respect the pastor, then they do not have to.
  • Murmuring against the man of God will hinder the effect any ministry has on the neighboring community, if any disunity among church members is heard of by them.
Aaron and Hur knew a principle about helping the man of God that would encourage and help any pastor today. They noticed when Moses’ arms were up while directing a battle, that Israel had the victory over the enemy. When the leader was tired and had not the strength to lift up his arms, the battle was in the favor of the enemy. Aaron and Hur made sure their leader’s arms were held high, so that they would get the victory. They physically held up their leader’s arms.
If more people would realize that honoring God’s man is honoring God and His work, and would encourage and help their pastor, more spiritual battles would be won; and more pastors would be encouraged. Lift up your leader's arms, do not force them down!
“If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything!”

Now we don't want to forget that our faith in God will turn things around. The story of Ahithophel is a good example. King David prayed that the Lord would turn the council of Ahithophel against him. We notice here that David must do his part. You see the council of Ahithophel was devastating. It was a death and life situation. If David did nothing , good by David and all his. Got it? no prayer and Ahithophel's actions would be terrible. They were evil, they could have worked. God allowed David to know this or he was a goner.
What do we say? Is all that evil just to make David a man of prayer. No it was just doing the right thing at the right time. We can see this first as a trial and trust God situation. David had the choice here of what he must do. God intervene's man must choose to prayer and believe. 2 Sam. 15:31

I think we get all bogged down studying leaves and twigs when we ought to step back and have another look at the big picture.
There is a war going on...a war entailing our entire planet with ramifications throughout all the universe. A war between Christ and Satan, and we are on the frontline. If we aren't being attacked, maligned, abused, persecuted, talked about, gossiped over, sworn at, cursed, at least some of the time if not all at once constantly, then we are doing something wrong. Satan hates Jesus with a vengeance, with a passion that will never lessen until the day he is destroyed. He however cannot touch Christ personally, but he can certainly touch Him through His followers. That's you and me. If Satan doesn't see you as his primary target, if you are no threat to him, then you need to find out why and do something about it. We are called to fight, called to be warriors for Christ. If your Christian walk is a walk in the park with no hassle, no troubles, no obstacles to climb over, no mountains to remove, no rivers to cross, then your on the wrong path.
There is a major world war on folks, a war that will have repercussions that will last for all eternity, a war that will result in more casualties than all others put together, and if you cannot see it in your own life or in the lives of your loved ones, your awol.
Time to fast and pray that God will open your eyes and show you where the enemy is operating. You are called to fight. You will be surprised at how close the battle is.

if this site doesn't have a bug problem then it must be the devil. Tried real hard to reply to this post. It is now established that the Christian is in a warfare with the powers of darkness. Also that the god of this world has blinded the eyes of all to keep them from coming to the gospel. Not under estimating God's power to save here, I think that many Christians under estimate Matt. 4:4 and don't see themselves as under the same temptations. One example is where Jesus said through John----1Jn. 2:15, love not the world, Many don't even know what that passage means. We are called to be full time Christians and seperated from the world. HaHaHa lets go have a beer. cigs are getting a little high priced isn't it time to quit? A so called Christian school is dominating on the idea of athletics to draw youth to their school, you are permited to chew tobacco and smoke there.

One minister has a book out now about grace. In it he says " the Holy Spirit doesn't convict of sin. What that says to me is we can live in sin and it's okay because of grace. If Jesus went to the cross to take away sin, he surely will convict and help stear us from temptation. I hope by now the point is demons can influence Christians.

That may mean that he has changed his position on what he once taught. I used to listen to his messages many years ago. He preaches also that Jesus literally was a sinner and his blood was of no account on the cross. Also that Jesus went to hell and wrestled keys out of Satan's hand. Also that Jesus became literal all sins of world on the cross. He was a minister with Kenneth Hagin who taught the same. The reason why I seperate from heretics is because it is obedience to the bible. It is a difficult thing for those who follow a minister and don't know their error, yet like them to swallow a thing like this when it is brought out. My motive is not to hurt feelings. I trust you will search it out on your time. In 1990 Dec. Benny Hinn taught it and apologised for it. The only thing is how could he minister his powers when teaching heresy he apologised for.

Just wanted to share about how when I was in my youth I was a demoniac. Some of the symptoms which were controling me. I was beginning to think I was God. My mind was being with wisdom and knowledge which far surpasses normal human thinking. I was actually doing powers and had abilities to make a atention getting personality. Th psychic abilities were tremendous. When I came to the Lord all this demons left. God by the Holy Spirit replaced all these things with abilities which are still super human. It all comes by leaving a Satanic spirit to a Holy one. Thank the Lord though I am a giant size 15 shoe, still only have 5 fingers and toes.
