Concerning Fear, And Hope...

Hello CallingOnHim,When my two children were small, I had an irrational fear of them being swept down and away from me in the water of a culvert that went underground. I would dream about it, and wake up in a sweat. Although I would shrug it off, it remained a cause of nightmare for some time: but they lived, they grew, they married, they had children of their own.
My fears were irrational, founded probably on my own feelings of inadequacy, who knows. The answer to that is that God does. It was no indication at all of my lack of faith in Him, just the unfounded fear of a Mum, who found the whole business of parenthood, with it's responsibility, difficult to cope with.

Praise God!

Thank you Chris. Oh my, what a horrible dream to keep having. I'm glad they were just that, dreams. And yes, I guess my fears, like yours were, are irrational. I'm trying hard to not pay attention to them. But what makes it hard is I am from a very bad family. They are not nice. Criminal even. I am so different from them all. And they set these specific fearful thoughts in my head regarding my children's safety on purpose, cause, well, they are doing the work of satan. Then they set about actually making these specific fears come to fruition. Then they had the audacity to say that it was God's doing when they were the ones who pulled the strings to make these things occur. So my tormented mind believed them, that it was my fault these things befell my children due to my fear of their safety, when all along it was theirs.
I wonder how God feels knowing they did extreme evil and gave Him credit for it ?

So yeah, it's going to take a while for me to get over this wrong thinking. I'm still very much shell shocked.

So Job's fear of his children's safety had nothing to do with their death ?. Then what caused their deaths ? I know I sound like a broken record..
I expected that question so I injected some answers in my post that are obscured and need further explanation.
Many times something that seems like a contradiction is actually defining or revealing that we don't fully understand the subject matter.
Scripture is full of these seeming contradictions so any answer can't contradict other scripture.
Anyway God takes the blame for all our mistakes and followed Adam into this mess to follow his children and lead them back.

If all fear ended up manifesting there would be no humans left at all.
If all prayer ended up manifesting there would be no fear left at all.
In a certain way all fear will and must manifest because God does not want his children to live with fear or death.
Therefore fear must be exposed as a lie because God did not create it,humans did.
God cannot defeat it for us because it is not real and we refuse to believe that so we have tied his hands by accusing him in our hearts of making a heartless world and beings. But that's a lie also and since God is love he takes the blame because thats what love does.
In a certain way all prayer must manifest and the rule of Christ on earth will bring the knowledge of the glory of God and humans will change.

Jeremiah 31:34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
Hebrews 8:11 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

To know something is to have absolute complete knowledge of that thing so the knowledge of good and evil is an extreme exploration of both.
Since Adam would die his exploration was not complete so he needed to be broken up into many temporary Adams called humans.
So technically Adam killed Job's children but since it's been done it can stop anytime humans choose to believe that God sent Jesus who empowered us to be as he is.Jesus fulfilled the most depraved depth of deceit.betrayal and accusation of the innocent that man could dish out thereby finding the end of mans depravity(fulfilling God's question to Job) and allow the journey back into light, love, joy ,peace and more and ect and abundant life on top of all that and more than we can think to know or ask.

There were two trees in that garden and the other was the tree of life which we can eat of and live.
1 Corinthians 15:45 Thus also it is written: “Adam the first man was a living soul; the last Adam - The Life Giver Spirit.

It's time to explore life and life more abundantly.

Thank you for sharing, CallingOnHim,

Your experience is very different from mine, I agree. Your fears are not irrational, but founded on knowledge and experience.
Praise God! That we have the same heavenly Father, in Christ Jesus, however, who loves and cares for us. I pray that He will deliver you, and keep you from all evil, for His Name and glory's sake.

(Mar 3:21-22)
'And when His friends heard of it,
they went out to lay hold on Him:
for they said,
"He is beside himself."
And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said,

"He hath Beelzebub,
and by the prince of the devils
casteth He out devils.

(Mar 3:31-35)
'There came then His brethren and His mother,
and, standing without, sent unto Him, calling Him.
And the multitude sat about Him,
and they said unto Him,

"Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for Thee."
And He answered them, saying,
"Who is my mother,
or my brethren?

And He looked round about on them which sat about Him,
and said, "Behold my mother and my brethren!

For whosoever shall do the will of God,
the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."

I want to thank you complete, and especially you Thiscrosshurts, you went the extra mile. I think if I was to name myself again it would be more like Thislifehurts.
I'm starting to think that it's going to take years before I fully understand the book of Job. But for now I'm going to give it a rest. I just can't understand at this stage in my life. So in closing I want to thank you all again, but I have read all the posts on this topic. And re-read them. And then read them again. Nothing.
Maybe some time in the near future a light will come on and I will understand. But for now. Thanks anyway guys. God bless you for your efforts.

I think if I was to name myself again it would be more like Thislifehurts.
That's what I'm sayin, the cross hurts but it's more like cleaning a beautiful stinky baby type hurt.
My username is a sign that I was hurting pretty badly when I joined 5 years ago,at that point I felt more like the diaper.
I was in fact downright angry at God and the unfairness that seems to dominate the world.
However God did respond and not only delivered me by undeniable miracles but it even affected those who were troubling me.
Now I am hooked on seeing him move powerfully in others lives.

They tell you God will never put you through more than you can handle but what they neglect
to mention is that God has a higher opinion of you that you do.

I'm starting to think that it's going to take years before I fully understand the book of Job.
I'm not sure the person who wrote the book fully understood it.
I think it was there for Jesus to read to help him remember his mission.
The story of Israel in the wilderness and the temptation of Christ also come to mind.
It's in those wilderness experiences that we come to see the constant care and provision of God.
In Job's case he saw the care as being in the past,in the wilderness the care was in the "now" and in the 40 days and nights in the wilderness the care was eternal.
Luke 24:26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?"
Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Jesus hung between two thieves and I feel they represent the past and the future and Jesus is the "now".
The past is a thief that will rob you of your future.
Those who had an abusive childhood suffered in innocence so they should expect to share in his glory.
It is my prayer that he would reveal his glory, peace, joy to you now and that he would send healing to your child.
Your child still lives in you and so I pray for her to be in the glory of God;s "now" in Christ.
Peace and Godspeed.

Thiscrosshurts : You are truly someone after God's own heart. And for this, I pray that He blesses you abundantly.
Thank you for your gentle spirit in ministering. Soft words are very loud to me. And I heard everyone of them.

May the joy of the Lord overtake you consistently.

So Job was wrong in thinking it was God who allowed his children to be killed ?

Thanks again for your responses TCH. I appreciate your patience greatly.
So Job's fear of his children's safety had nothing to do with their death ?. Then what caused their deaths ? I know I sound like a broken record...
Thank you, and yes, you are helping.

John 5:19-20Complete (CJB)
19 Therefore, Yeshua said this to them: “Yes, indeed! I tell you that the Son cannot do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does, the Son does too. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does; and he will show him even greater things than these, so that you will be amazed.

CallingOnHim You are as much a son of God as Jesus is. Yet Jesus only speaks what He hears Father speak. Do you speak your fears, or do you speak what Father says about your situation? Your words have a creative power. You speak into your life, the words YOU speak will come to bless you or to torment you. It's your choice. God speaks nonexistent things into existence. You do the same.

Romans 4:17Complete (CJB)
17 This accords with the Tanakh, where it says, “I have appointed you to be a father to many nations.”a]' data-fn="#fen-CJB-28053a">[a] Avraham is our father in God’s sight because he trusted God as the one who gives life to the dead and calls nonexistent things into existence.

Reading this thread has also helped me. I've been dealing with fears and anxiety lately and was loosing sleep and in constant worry. But it actually got me to start reading my bible again and trusting in God again. He used it to get my attention and now I have a desire to read and study my bible again. Even thought about going to church again.

God bless :)

I have a question regarding a passage of the bible that I have never been able to understand. It's the scripture which states that what we fear may come upon us. Now this concerns me, for I have always been wrought with many fears in my life. It's the by product of an extremely abusive childhood.
Why do our fears come upon us ? I can't wrap my brain around it. I try not to have fears, but sometimes I just can't help it. I kind of feel as if I may be punished for having them, and this scares me. More fears.
And where does Hope fit in ? I have been hoping and praying for something with all my heart, soul, and spirit. Why hasn't this happened upon me yet ?
I hope no one misunderstands me, I am saying all this very sincerely, with no disrespect to God at all. It's just like I said, I can't understand how fearing something can make it come upon you. Aren't I under His protection ?

Thank you to all who help me better understand this passage.

So what is fear? Fear is simply faith in reverse. Faith is when you trust in the promises of God, what He can do. Well that's simplified but you get the drift. Fear on the other hand is when you trust in the devil and the nasty things he can do to you. When we put more credence in what the enemy can do than we put in our Father.....we walk in fear. When we fear we talk about that. What we speak is what we get. Job feared for his kids. He talked about it constantly, his kids died. How do I know he talked about it? He was people just like we are. We get scared, we talk it.

So I might die from my parents fears?
Is it possible that all those parties might have opened a door to disaster.
These were not children these were adults making their own decisions.

It's interesting to note what God had to say about Job.
Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil

Do you think it possible to be persecuted for doing right?
Job's friends didn't think so,they found the concept of a perfect one being troubled to be unthinkable.
They placed themselves above Job and judged his piety by his present condition.

Job 42:7 After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.

I do generally agree with what you're saying but if my prayers and hopes don't manifest instantly then my fears are not going to either.
By the time ones prayers manifest instantly fear would have been long conquered.
Let's try not to instill any fears in those who are working their way out by building steps out of the reasons to have faith.

Let us first look at the verse you referring to and then understand what it says.
Proverbs 10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Explanation : There are 2 parts to Proverbs 10:24
1.
This verse is connected in thought with the preceding. The wicked, though he lightly carries on his evil practices, is troubled with the thought of the retribution which awaits him, and that which he fears shall come upon him
2. The desire of the righteous shall be granted.—For they submit their will to the will of God, and pray for what He sees best for them, which accordingly He grants; moreover, the Holy Spirit also aids them, making intercession for them “according to the will of God” Read Romans 8:27
The first step : following Jesus is to forgive others for what they have done unto you ; for example you need to forgive your abusers from your childhood. You need to repent on all your sins, example your forgiveness coupled with any other sin, knowingly and unknowingly.
Second Step: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. The minute you asked Jesus to be Lord of your life, you need not to be afraid of anything.
Let us look at the cross in its entirety. Isaiah 53: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1) Jesus hath Bourne our griefs and carried our sorrows . In your case scenario, your abuse.
2) Jesus was wounded for our transgressions. For our disobedience.
3) Jesus was bruised for our iniquities For our sins and un-forgiveness.
4) Jesus was chastised. To give us peace
5) With his stripes, we are healed. With the stripes of His blood we are healed of all things.
My advice to you: Do a checklist and ask God to bring all your sins to your remembrance and ask Him to forgive you . Just remember if you are harbouring un-forgiveness, it will keep you bound to fear and which is the greatest stronghold of Satan.
Once you have asked all this of the Lord you will have faith and hope in the Lord Jesus.
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
A short Prayer for you:
Dear Father God, I rebuke and bind the fear in the mind of your servant in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, we command it to leave the mind right now in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. Please place the garment of praise on him instead of the spirit of heaviness and despair , give him the oil of joy instead of mourning , and please give him beauty instead of ashes , we ask this in the Mighty and Powerful name of our Lord Jesus and that is the name above all names ! “The Name of Jesus “ Amen.
My Scripture : 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I hope this helps.

I'm talking about your words here. Speak what God speaks. How do you do this? You have an entire bible of what God speaks. Find the verses that apply to your situation and speak those. Claim them. Stand on them. Jesus himself did this. He said " I only do what I see the Father do and speak only what the Father speaks"

With that I completely agree.
In Jobs case what the Father said is that he was perfect.

Job was perfect in his worship of God and his obedience. He was just a man however and still spoke his fears. That's what opened the door to Satan's attacks. Job chapter 1

Okay, there are some new posts here that kind of lured me back.
I will have to read them and ponder them carefully later. (They just seem so long and abundant lol)
But for now, this simple question in response to Bendito, for it is way passed midnight where I am.

There are times when I do not speak my fears aloud, yet they still seem to come to pass..... ???

It seems to me that being called perfect by God started the whole thing.
Look what happened to Jesus ,was that because of his fear or his faith?

What about children born to horrible parents, did they fear before they were born?
Are they punished because of their parents fear or because of their parents immaturity and selfishness.
You sound like Job's friends who find it impossible to think that an innocent one can suffer any wrong.

Luke 9:22 And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

A funny thing happened on my way to becoming a son of man,I suffered.

You have spoken your fears? When we speak there is someone always ready to make our words come to pass. If our fears line up with Gods Word then Gods angels bring it about, that's what they are here for Hebrews 1:4 .....If our words are contrary to Gods Word then Satans angels are there to make it come to pass. Whatever we speak we will see. We speak with the same authority that Jesus has. Here are a few verses to get you started learning of the power of your words Matthew 12:36-37 Acts 15:24 Proverbs 18:20-21
Mark 11:23 NUMBERS 14:28 PROVERBS 6:2

ROMANS 4:17 1 PETER 4:11
There are more...go find them. It's a treasure hunt. :-)

Wow. TCH Horrible parents are probably not children of the Most High. They are children of the devil. Being so they are subject to all the "benefits" of their father. That's what they had to pass on to their progeny. Nothing more. The parents, lost and living fear had nothing else to pass on to their children. As a parent one has only that to pass on. Gee....did I just repeat myself? :-)

Please think carefully about this.

John 9:2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
John 9:3 "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

If children of allegedly evil people suffer evil then why are there so many of them.We should all be shiny happy people by now.
And how did these allegedly evil people stay alive long enough to fill the earth.
I know many christians that had horrible parents.
