Chinese Government offers financial reward for turning in Christians

The Chinese Government is offering cash rewards to people who inform on underground churches.

One city is offering more than £1,000 to those who can identify ‘unofficial’ places of worship.
The incentive is part of a nationwide effort to bring all religious groups under the control of the Communist Party.

Cash rewards
Xu Xiaohong, head of a national committee for Government-approved Protestant churches, recently accused the West of trying to use independent churches to subvert the Communist regime.
He claimed: “Anti-China western forces seek to upset our country’s social stability or even overthrow our government through Christianity.”
Religious affairs officials will offer cash rewards for useful information starting from just 100 yuan (£11).
But helping to identify and arrest preachers and members of religious groups will be rewarded as much as 10,000 yuan – about two months’ average salary.

Uproot the Church
Chinese authorities are particularly seeking to uproot the underground Church.
China has up to 40 million ‘official’ Christians, but the membership of the underground Church is believed to far exceed this.

It is troubling news to hear. The Church needs to be in constant prayer for our brothers and sisters in China.

Strange isn't it. The Communist's know the greatest threat to them is Christianity. The greatest force for freedom in the world is Christianity. Thus the greatest country with those freedoms displayed was the U.S. Why? Because we were Christian. Yet now we, in our secular atheism, are pulling down crosses and silencing prayers to God and Christ, just like the Chinese government does.

And our secular atheism has opened the door for socialism which is in lock step with communism. The Chinese Communists know much more than the Americans today. They know that Christianity breeds political freedom. Subduing it brings easier political control.

This brings up an interesting question. I will post it in another place.

It is sad,but looking at this from there standpoint,Jesus brings freedom, both for the mind as well as the body, and this threat of possible revolt due to the teaching of scripture brings them great fear! I know this I was there in 1975 and I am sure there concern has even mounted since then! Espically with the President we now have who encourages such freedom! Having been in an underground church once while I was there, these people are truly willing to die for the faith! ( example watchmenee) for one of them stated once" it is better to die on your feet then to live on your knees". I only wish we here could help these people more!( 2 Tim 3:12) They fully live out this truth!

Not surprising. It's amazing how these leaders feel the need to control peoples' religious beliefs and specifically persecute Christians more than anyone else. As if their non-existent gods could do them any good. Satan's puppets and they probably don't even know that.

I am in Guangzhou China where this reward is being implemented. The true churches almost all went underground, except those government-approved puppet churches that are praising the community party every day.

Actually I do think there are some churches that are too active in politics, while many others don't. We just want God alone, we are not trying to subvert the communist regime, although we all understand the communists/atheists are the works of the devils. Let the secular world wear itself out.

I do believe China will play a very significant role in the wars of the last days. Atheism vs Christianity. The ultimate war of humankind. Beliefs, values, etc. However, many Americans nowadays are so corrupt, so liberal. They are giving up the faith, the God of their ancesters, and turn to serve other false gods of the people living among them. This is a dangerous sign.

Thank you for sharing this insight. I heard if I recall, pastor David Jeremiah preaching about how China may have a big role in the end times too.
