Thanks for sharing Brother.
A bit unnerving to say the least.
I believe this is probably part of what was called in the 90's as the Laughing Revival.
Not something I gave or would give credence to.
Once again thanks for sharing.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

You don't understand that the apostles and prophets only continued for a short after AD100. The office of prophet and apostle in the emerging church became obsolete. I'm not talking about the apostles and prophets we know in the Old and New Testament. I'm talking people who held the office of prophet and apostle into the beginning part of the second century. You wouldn't know that because you've likely never read the Didache or put any amount of study into this topic. Most of you just fire from the hip and come across with a bit of sarcasm.

Have you even googled, "are there prophets and apostles today?" Nearly every page will tell you NO there are none. Pentecostal's may claim there are apostles and prophets today, but most people who have studied this know there are NOT!
The Didache is not canon. And its authors anonymous.

Many of you associate the office of a prophet with many of the New Testament authors who were also apostles. But that's not the people I'm referring to. Most of the apostles were also prophets and most were murdered. The office of a prophet continued afterwards but different than the ones we know by name and who prophesied in the NT. The didache is small but legit book handed down from the last apostles of the early stages of the infant church. It describes the office and role of these prophets. Their role was to speak forth the direction of each individual church. We don't know who they were, we just know that they were office holders in the church, and they had a tough job and often were the first ones to be persecuted. They went from church to church and had no place to live. They did not get paid and it was forbidden for them to accept money. They were allowed to stay only a few days. What happened was they abused their position and often extended their stay and accepted money. They lived large at the expense of the congregation and eventually were dismissed as unnecessary once the foundation of the church was established.

I can tell that most of you have never read the didache or researched this topic much at all. That's why I often get one liner replies.

Here's my one liner reply...
The trinity isn't canon either. It was contrived by a bunch of Catholic bishops in the 3rd and 4th century.
Questioning a whole different topic to substantiate the validity of this one isnt very logical. Its like democrats and republicans saying like children, "but your candidate did this and you said nothing, you only care about this one now because its our man in office."

I see nothing wrong here. Would you rather be happy or to be sad? What is the Kingdom of God?

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

If you or anybody else thinks this is bad, I would not ever step into a Church you go to!

Pro 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Psa 126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
Psa 126:3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

I have read it, and it is not of God.
Maybe since "you've read it" you can tell me how you've formed the conclusion that it is not from God. It's a relevant and accurate document. There are several people who have researched it and it's legit and has value in understanding the means, ways, and direction of the early church before the bible was compiled.

The dating of the Didache ranges between AD 50 -AD 120. It is the teachings of the Twelve Apostles. Didache means by 'the gospel.' It could even be that Barnabas was part of it's authorship.

John S. Kloppenborg Verbin comments on the Didache (Excavating Q, pp. 134-135):

The Didache, an early second-century Christian composition, is also clearly composite, consisting of a "Two Ways" section (chaps. 1-6), a liturgical manual (7-10), instructions on the reception of traveling prophets (11-15), and a brief apocalypse.

I don't accept it as the inspired Word, but I do accept it as being authentic, accurate, having historical value, and not in opposition to God's Word.

We need to start a new thread on the "didache".
I will leave it to you, as you first mentioned it.
