It just says they were pricked in thier heart. They were told they killed their Jewish messiah. The group is addressed here . They don't ask " what must WE DO to be SAVED ..For Israel they need to do What Peter tells them . This is not a general message to gentiles. No gentiles are in the picture until many years after this .

Just like when some take Acts 2 out of context then do also with Acts 8 .
Completely overlooking whats happening in the book of Acts . Acts is a trasitional book . Nothing is established until after Acts 15 . Why would you believe Acts 2 is the plan in a transitional book with a further 26 chapters ?

14¶Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Is verse 17 the plan for today ? Laying on of hands in order to recieve the Holy Spirit ? Or is it just like Acts 2 in that Acts 8 is now transitioning to Samaritins and to establish this ,laying on of hands is given as a apostolic witness to this effect . Again Just like Acts 2 ( to Jews ) this is not the plan of salvation going forward .

Salvation has always been by God's grace through faith. And since there have always been three that bear witness - Father Son and Spirit, there has never been a time when the Holy Spirit was not at work in the hearts and minds of penitent souls.
But Acts 2 .38 shows that in order for THEM to recieve the Holy Spirit, THEY needed to be baptised in water . Not so today of course .

I'm not sure the order matters that much. Everyone but Cornelius (Acts 10) was baptized in water first. Cornelius received the Holy Spirit before he was baptized in water.
However the Disciples at Ephesus (Acts 19) were already baptized in water, before they received the Holy Spirit. The point is, whichever order... both should be done.
Both incidents were at least 14 years after Jesus ascended back to heaven. More likely closer to 30 years. How do we know this?
2Cor 12:2; and Galatians 2:1; say that Paul was converted at least 14 years before his trips to Asia.

They in Acts 2:38 were baptized because they had received the Holy Spirit, not in order to receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2.38 baptism is required in order to receive the Holy Spirit. This clearly demonstrate we should not use the book of acts and treat Acts 2.38 especially as if that's the plan of salvation for today. Nor the laying on of hands in Acts 8 .
But it doesn't say that at all ?

Blame the translators who failed to properly translate eis from Greek to English. It's not the only failed biblical translation from Greek to English.
38¶Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Notice its after ? and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Ah yes the greek game . Everyone's playing it . Those idiot translators have nothing on today's gated institutions correcting every verse that doesn't fit the system . Are you saying the kings James translators ( for example) didn't know how to translate Acts 2.38 ? Did God not forsee that the majority of the world would be English speaking, and would manage to preserve his word in English ?

Do we assume Act 2:38 the word baptized is what we call, water baptism? Are we not washed in the Blood of the Lamb? Is not 'baptism a washing' . While i believe Christians should be baptized , my preferred method would be dunked in a river, I do not see water baptism maybe technically being stated in Acts by Peter.

How should the Greek word pascha be translated? Pascha appears 29 times in the NT Greek manuscripts, and 28 times the KJV translators got it right. What happened in Acts 12:4 for the KJV translators to say differently? And why the word ekklesia, a first century Greek word that clearly means assembly, or congregation, or ones called to assemble, was ignored by the KJV translators in favor of a more recent 15th century word: church?

God's word is preseved in the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts. All other language translations, even those of the LXX, lose something here or there to one degree or another.

I don't buy it . The kjv is fine.
Which greek ?
Not everytime does baptism mean water . Like Rom 6 . No water . Col 2.12 ect

I agree: the KJV is a fine translation, though not perfect. Being so does not excuse the deliberate mistranslations committed by the translators. The word "church" was to be used by the translators on the direct order of the king. Why the word "easter" was used is anyone's guess. Antisemitism?
