SignUp Now!Hi,
I was asked at the weekend if 2 Peter 3:8 meant that satan would be locked up for a day and would the millenium be a day also. The answer is obviously 'no' but I couldn't find the right scripture to explain my response.
Hoping you can help.
Thanks RJ, it's a thousand years 'our time' in the physical sense and a day in the spiritual sense....that makes sense, thanks for that!
Wow, I never thought of that. You say there is a spiritual side and a physical side. Is that because we will have spiritual bodies during this time? Because the Rapture of the Church will already have happened, and so the physical side would maybe be those who are still on the earth who didn't go up in the Rapture. I'm pretty confused I guess. lol
Maybe the millinium will be in Heaven and not even on earth. But I thought satan would be released after the 1000 years to test the nations, which would be those on earth. If we have spiritual bodies, we can't produce children during that time, right? So it wouldn't be to give children born during that period a chance to chose between God and satan like I thought. Hope I'm not too confusing.
I think even the 1000 years is relative, it might as well be a million.
Peter's reference was not in terms of God having some Spiritual thing as a day being a 1,000 years...
The Word was sent to us!! and The time is for us.
Peter was talking about the last days... There are scoffers who ask where is his coming, things just continue as before....
This is what many are saying before tribulation. Nobody will be saying this during the tribulation as it's a time on earth we have never seen or experienced. A very terrible time of God's Judgment on Earth.
So, the 1,000 years is as one day, is a reference for us. It's Peter's answer to the question.... Where is the Lord?? Things continue as before.
Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Compare:
Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Joe 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Joe 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, (Release of the 6th seal) and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Part of the sign of the end, is the operation of the Anointing of God. The rain so to speak. It also helps us find Peter's meaning to the 1,000 years is as a day for the last days.
Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Jesus comes back to the Earth...
So............
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Jesus promised to come back for us.... We escape the wrath of God during the tribulation as RJ has stated...
2 days = 2,000 years.................. from the time Jesus said he is coming back... and after he went and sent the Holy Spirit.. The Spirit of Truth..
On the 3rd day...... or end of the 2,000 years, we shall be with him.. for 1,000 years on Earth.
RJ
It is Relative if you know where it's at, and Peter's Key to the Last days...
We are past the 2,000 years.......
We are on the time of Grace... For Peter said, God is not slack..... but...
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Grace.........
Tick Tock....... We are out of time....
Jesus Is Lord.
Jesus promised to come back for us.... We escape the wrath of God during the tribulation as RJ has stated...
Sorry if that was hard to follow..
I wrote this:
Which means I found nothing worth mentioning ....
The only thing I would mention is your take on the Begging of Sorrows..
Not being part of the Seven year defined tribulation period.
The begging of Sorrows is a set up for the seven years, to get everything in place as God only has seven years to accomplish what he sets to do...
When the Tribulation does began, The Son of perdition (Antichrist) will have 3 1/2 years to set up with Israel and in 3 1/2 years declare himself as god. For him to be revealed, we must be removed..
The only thing I broke down was Peter's 1,000 years as a day.. and saw no issue worth mentioning but what the original OP said.
Jesus Is Lord.
Sorry if that was hard to follow..

O.K.. I am not sure where you got that and I am still having a hard time follwing you? This is what I said in my thread to HoneyBare:
2) The "Tribulation" Period (7 years of judgement by God, ending with the Lord coming to set up His kingdom on earth)
<?xml:namespace prefix = o /><o>This tribulation period is split into two parts, each 3.5 years (see Daniel 7:25, 9:27, 12:7-12, Revelation 11:2-3, 12:6, and 13:5). The Lord refers to the first half as the "beginning of sorrows"</o
>
<o>Seems to me that I said that the " beginning of sorrows" was part of the first 1/2 of the Tribulation?!</o
>
The begging of Sorrows is a set up for the seven years, to get everything in place as God only has seven years to accomplish what he sets to do...

OP in a Forums setting means....... "Original Poster" It's just a term used because Post often go way off the original subject.
Peter's Comments where about the end days.... While we like to think of God "Outside" of time or God not really considering time as we do, that is not the case... God has a time frame, and he gave us that time frame. God was very specific about all times, and even was the one that invented time... Sun up and down for example God called a day... that is a specific time.. God also had done things in order so that we as humans can compare a Orderly God... in 3's, 7's, 40's.............
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Peter's one day is a thousand years and that day is as a thief in the night... The Thousand year reference is not how God looks at time, but a specific time Given by the Holy Spirit to determine the Day of the Lord...
The day of the Lord represents the End times... and that day starts as the Lord comes as a thief in the night..
1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
That is the 1,000 years as a day reference, it happens at that time frame....
Hos 6:2 After two days (2,000 years) will he revive us: in the third day (1,000 years left) he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
2,000 years or 2 days after the cross, He comes back to get us... on the 3 day or last 1,000 years we live with him (1,000 years with Satan bound, with Jesus)
All this stuff about God Transends time and space, lives outside of time, God's time not our own time, is not backed by scripture and just confuses things... God was here at the start Alpha and will always be Omega..... That is as deep as we need to go.
God's time is our time, because God invented time.... God invented days and nights, and God was very specific about when events will occur...
I gave the scripture, and Key Scripture to Unlock what Peter was telling us about the Day of the Lord, and the end times. It's 2,000 years After Jesus promised to return to get us.. 1,000 years with him on Earth..
We are out of time...
Jesus Is Lord.
