The Tribulation Isn’t What You Think — and Jesus Never Taught a Rapture Escape Plan

In your mind suffer = Christian.
Yes, Jesus died on the Cross — but He also warned us before and after the Cross that tribulation would come for His followers.
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?
- Matthew 10:21-25 KJV

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
- John 15:20 KJV

Let that sink in.
The Rapture is for the damned. Jesus said so.
He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
- Matthew 13:37-42 KJV

1Thes 4:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.”

John 14:2-3 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

Phil 3:20-21 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.”

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

That makes sense, really?

2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

2 Thess 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way
.

1. Scripture is very specific that it is a 'He'.

2. How is mankind, government and institutions logical? They can restrain the devil? I would love to see that!! :D :D

---------------------

The devil has full power to torment you ten days and then put you to death Rev 2:10. Right now, he does not, he can only roam looking for whom he can devour 1 Pet 5:8.

--------------------

Please explain to me what exactly you believe a Christian is. How does one become a Christian?

Yes — it makes perfect sense that the “restrainer” in 2 Thessalonians 2 is not the Holy Spirit, but something external: government, law, or civil order.

That’s exactly what early Church Fathers taught for over 1,800 years before Darby and Scofield came along and rewrote prophecy to fit their rapture escape plan.

Let’s be real:
Paul never says “the Holy Spirit” is the restrainer.

He says “you know what is restraining him now” — which means the Thessalonians knew exactly what he meant based on previous context. And what did they know? That Rome — the power of law and order — was holding back total chaos.

Early church fathers agreed:

Tertullian said the restrainer was the Roman Empire.
Chrysostom
called it lawful order and governance.
Irenaeus
and Augustine agreed it referred to civil authority holding back the man of sin.

But Scofield and Darby needed a "secret rapture", so they reassigned the restrainer to the Holy Spirit — even though the text never says that and none of the apostles or early church fathers believed it.

“How can mankind or institutions restrain the devil?!”

Easy. Look at the world right now:
Take away laws, police, and governments — and watch how fast the devil works through chaos, violence, and false power.

Add total lawlessness, and antichrist figures rise. History proves that: Hitler, Stalin, Nero, Antiochus Epiphanes.

The devil doesn’t need to “possess” every person — he works through lawlessness, deception, and power structures. Remove civil restraint, and the Beast rises.

Revelation 13:2 — “The dragon gave the Beast his power, and his throne, and great authority.”

That’s political power.
That’s what Paul was talking about — not the Holy Spirit flying off the planet.

“Please explain what a Christian is.”

A Christian is someone who believes the Gospel, repents, and is born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” — 2 Cor 5:17
“By grace you have been saved through faith… not by works.” — Eph 2:8–9
“Repent and be baptized… and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” — Acts 2:38
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” — John 3:36

That’s it.
Not “join Israel.”
Not “wait for the rapture.”
Not “bless ethnic Jews to earn God’s favor.”
(Even though let’s be honest — they’re not “ethnic Jews” at all.)
The overwhelming majority of today’s so-called Jews are not descended from Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob.
They’re Russian and Eastern European Khazars — a Turkic people who converted to Judaism around 740 A.D.
That’s not “antisemitic conspiracy” — that’s documented history.
Jewish historian Shlomo Sand even titled his book “The Invention of the Jewish People.”

Genetically, they’re about as related to King David as Pol Pot, Mao Zedong and Bruce Lee.

So if you think you’re earning brownie points with God by supporting a Zionist political regime of Christ-rejecting Khazar converts...
You’ve been Scofield’d. Hard.

God’s covenant wasn’t with bloodlines — it was always with faith.
And that covenant was fulfilled in Christ.

“If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” — Galatians 3:29

There is no second plan.
There is no ethnic exception clause. (Even if they were real "ethnic Biblical Jews")
And there sure as heaven isn’t a geopolitical backdoor into the Kingdom.

The Gospel is not about dual covenants, timelines, or national favoritism.
It’s about Christ crucified, and anyone who believes in Him is:

Born again
Forgiven
A new creation
A citizen of heaven
And part of the true Israel of God (Gal. 6:16)

Scofield theology teaches people to look to unbelieving Israel for fulfillment — instead of to Christ.
That’s not Christianity.
That’s apostasy wearing a cross.

Wake up.
Believe the Gospel.
Stop worshiping a counterfeit.

“If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” — Galatians 3:29

That’s what a Christian is.
No rapture pass needed.

Why not assume it is what it says, and not make up additional meanings?
But even if this was correct, you still have to explain away the "last" trumpet, the "after" the tribulation, and the "it won't happen until the beast takes his place in the temple".
Do you know that the book of 1 Corinthians was written 40-50 years before the book of Revelation? Paul would have had no information regarding trumpets or bowls of any kind. Most likely, Paul was referring to some other "feats" trumpets that he knew about, most likely "the feast of trumpets"
which was a call to the gathering of God's people.

There is NOTHING in the Teachings of Jesus that should be rejected because of the Cross.

Nothing is being rejected. You are not reading and grasping what is being said.

There was no saving faith at the time of Jesus. There was no Holy Spirit. IE There were no Christians.

Not a hard fact to grasp.

Also, cute to see you stretch for a chance to accuse me of something. Coming from the guy that rejects Luke 16 and what Jesus said on the cross to the thief.

The Gospel is not about dual covenants, timelines, or national favoritism.
It’s about Christ crucified, and anyone who believes in Him is:

Born again
Forgiven
A new creation
A citizen of heaven
And part of the true Israel of God (Gal. 6:16)

What exactly does it mean when we are born again, made a new creation and become a citizen of heaven?

I have heard this theory several times over the years, but if it's true... how do people get saved during the tribulation without the Holy Spirit?
Yes, I agree and have done some further research into the restrainer ... Holy Spirit should be ruled out ... and as yet no one has yet come up with a good explanation of who the restrainer is ... maybe it will come : )

You claim “a Christian doesn’t need to be tested again.”
Tell that to Peter, crucified upside down.
Tell that to Paul, beheaded in Rome.

Waiting for you to grasp the fact that you have just insinuated that Peter needed to be crucified upside down to be saved.

You get ahead of yourself. You need to go back to the basics of what exactly a Christian is.

Paul would have qualified for heaven whether he was beheaded or not. As he was a born again, new creation, Holy Spirit filled Christian.

And, as I have said to you twice now, there is a world of difference between being at the mercy of wicked humans over the devil and demons.

1. God allows us to be victimised by wicked humans in order that we may be a witness of Jesus to them. There is no need to be a witness to the devil and demons.

2. A Holy Spirit filled Christian has power to cast demons out of people. The antichrist and demons cannot have their way if Holy Spirit filled Christians are here. This is a 'duh' fact.

Your idealogy is illogical, unscriptural and absurd.

For the fifth and last time, try grasp that Rom 10:9 is not compatible with Rev 14:9-10 and Rev 2:10.

Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rev 14:9-10 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

Rev 2:10 Do not be afraid of anything that you are going to suffer. Indeed, the devil will throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will face an ordeal for ten days. Remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

IE:

In Rom 10:9 Confess with mouth and believe in heart that Jesus is Lord and rose from the dead = Saved.

Rev 14:9-10 - The criteria to be saved is to not get his mark. No amount of ''Confess with mouth and believe in heart that Jesus is Lord and rose from the dead'' will help you.

Rev 2:10 - the criteria to be saved is enduring torment and death. No amount of ''Confess with mouth and believe in heart that Jesus is Lord and rose from the dead'' will help you.

You read? Where? What? Please share.

I can promise you that only the Holy Spirit as the restrainer survives interrogation. Other options are easily debunked.

Here is a good read - Who / What is the restrainer in 2 Thessalonians 2:6? | GotQuestions.org

BAC, you are a smart person, why can you also not grasp the below?

The Holy Spirit is needed for Rom 10:9 salvation. Not needed in the tribulation for Rev 14:9-10 and Rev 2:10 salvation.

Rom 10:9 is not compatible with Rev 14:9-10 and Rev 2:10.

Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking in the Spirit of God says, Jesus is accursed; and no one can say, Jesus is Lord! except in the Holy Spirit.

The Tribulation Isn’t What You Think — and Jesus Never Taught a Rapture Escape Plan

Scripture mostly talks about “tribulation” (thlipsis) as something believers experience. But Jesus does describe a final period of unparalleled distress — and He tells us exactly how it ends.

The problem? Modern churches have been fed Scofield’s fan fiction, not Christ’s words.

So let’s walk through what the Bible actually says.

1. Tribulation is for believers — not just “the left behind.”

“In the world you will have tribulation (θλῖψιν) — but take heart, I have overcome the world.”

— John 16:33

“We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
— Acts 14:22

Tribulation isn't some Jewish horror flick after the Church "vanishes" — it's the furnace believers have always gone through. It’s been happening since Acts — and it will culminate right before Christ returns.

2. Jesus does mention a great tribulation — but the righteous are still there.

“Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world... and except those days be shortened, no flesh would be saved.”
— Matthew 24:21–22

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days… He shall send His angels… and gather His elect.” — Matthew 24:29–31

So when does Jesus gather His people? AFTER the tribulation — not before.
No secret escape. No early flight. No Kirk Cameron 'Left Behind' Hollywood nonsense.
Left behind” isn’t a threat — it’s a promise. Just ask Noah.

3. “But what about being taken like in Noah’s day?”

People say this like it’s the reward — but Jesus says it’s the judgment.

“As it was in the days of Noah… they were eating and drinking… until the flood came and took them all away.
So shall it be when the Son of Man returns.
— Matthew 24:37–39
(Also Luke 17:26–30)

Look again — who gets taken in Noah’s day?
Not Noah. Not the righteous.
It’s the wicked who are swept away in judgment.

And Jesus says it’ll be just like that again.

The ones “taken” are the ones judged.
The ones “left” are the ones preserved.
Left behind? That’s the blessing. Just like Noah, just like Lot.

That means modern Rapture theology has Christians begging to be swept away in judgment — while calling it their “blessed hope.” That’s not faith. That’s deception — straight from the Pit. They’re under a veil… and cheering for their own destruction as the architects of this deception laugh from the shadows of Hell — watching the Church pray for its own judgment, and call it salvation.

4. Revelation confirms: the saints go through it.

“I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for their witness to Jesus… and they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
— Revelation 20:4

Who are these saints?
Not “tribulation extras.”
They’re the faithful Church — those who endure.
There is ONE resurrection. (John 5:28–29, Daniel 12:2)

5. Daniel backs it up:

“There shall be a time of trouble such as never was… but at that time your people shall be delivered — everyone written in the Book.”

— Daniel 12:1–2

“Many shall be purified and made white and tried.”
— Daniel 12:10

Not beamed uppurified, tried, delivered.
Through fire, not around it.

6. There’s no escape hatch. But there is endurance — and glory.

“Here is the endurance of the saints… those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”

— Revelation 14:12

But he who endures to the end will be saved.” — Matthew 24:13

The Satanic Lie: “The Tribulation” is a Jewish-only horror story.
This was invented by John Nelson Darby in the 1800s and stapled into your Bible by Scofield.
They taught the Church is removed before things get rough, and the Jews get one more shot during a special 7-year tribulation.

There’s only one problem:
That’s not what Jesus taught.

Final Truth:

There is a final period of tribulation — a real, global time of distress before Christ returns. But Jesus was clear:

The righteous aren’t removed beforehand — they’re refined.

The wicked are “taken,” not the saints.

The elect are gathered after the tribulation.

There is one resurrection — at Christ’s visible return.

And every believer who endures will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father (Matthew 13:43).

Summary:

"The tribulation" is real — not just future, but already unfolding. It intensifies before Christ returns. But believers go through it — not around it.

The “rapture” happens after the tribulation (Matt 24:29–31).

The ones “taken” in Noah’s day were the wicked — not the saved.
Jesus says it will be the same way again when He returns.

The ones ‘taken’ are the damned. The Rapture, as the misled modern churches teach it, is actually a death sentence disguised as deliverance.

The righteous are left — sealed, rescued, preserved, just like Noah.

So when modern Christians start begging to be “taken”…
they’re literally praying to be swept away in judgment.
That’s not the blessed hope.
That’s spiritual suicide — with Scofield footnotes.

Scofield’s fantasy isn’t in the Bible.

Endure like Noah. Obey like Lot. Shine like the saints.

No one is raptured before it.
The righteous are gathered after (Matt 24:29–31).

Saints will suffer, resist the Beast, and be resurrected to reign with Christ. (Rev 20:4)

The whole “pre-trib rapture” thing? Invented in the 1800s. Not Bible. Not Jesus. Not apostolic.

If anyone tells you we’ll be “raptured out” before things get hard, just ask:
“Where’s the verse that says that?”
(Spoiler: there isn’t one.)

The Cross wasn’t an escape plan — it was a war path.
Jesus doesn’t rapture cowards.
He refines warriors.

Not one apostle taught a pre-tribulation rapture.
Not one early Church father believed Christians would disappear before the time of trial.

There is zero historical record of any secret escape doctrine in the first 1800 years of Christianity.

Paul didn’t teach it.
Peter didn’t teach it.
John — the one who saw Revelation — didn’t teach it.

Irenaeus didn’t preach it.
Polycarp didn’t preach it.
Ignatius didn’t preach it.

Jesus didn’t teach it.

So where did it come from?

John Nelson Darby, 1830s.
Scofield Bible, 1909.
Then Hollywood — and Satan’s global elite minions — ran with it.
They sold Christians a false escape hatch — and called it “the Blessed Hope.”

The real Church never believed in a “left behind” evacuation plan.
That idea didn’t come from the Bible.

So ask yourself:
If the apostles didn’t preach it…
If the early Church never taught it…
If Jesus never mentioned it…

Then who did?

Because deception this deep doesn’t come from ignorance — it comes from below.

It’s so twisted, so dark, so psychotic,
it could only come from the pit itself.

Like an evil man sweetly coaxing a group of children
to dance into a barn full of starving lions —
and calling it “blessed hope".

What they’ve done to the Church since 1909 is so twisted,
so diabolical,
it couldn’t have come from man.

This deception bears the fingerprints of the Dragon himself.
Only the enemy of Christ could orchestrate something so brilliant,
so blasphemous —
and sell it as hope.
I agree! It is all wrapped up in a cheapened and altered gospel message which teaches that a mere verbal profession of faith in Jesus Christ assures all professers of faith forgiveness of all sins, being raptured before things get really bad, and heaven as their eternal destiny, but regardless of how they live on this earth or even if they honor and obey the Lord with their lives. It is a "feel good" gospel message which comes from the same place as "the pre-trib rapture" teaching, all of which avoids death to sin and walks of obedience to the Lord and having to suffer in this life for the sake of the gospel, and for the sake of righteousness. And we suffer because we stand strong on the truth of the teachings of the Scriptures and we do not adopt the lies which so many are believing today, because they do not confront them with their sins and their need to repent and to obey God and to suffer for the sake of genuine biblical walks of faith in obedience to our Lord. The Lord had me write on a parallel subject to this this morning, titled, "Don't Give Up The Fight." For we are in spiritual warfare, and our enemy is hot on our trail to take us down.

Both books are written through man by GOD, men are simply the way he chose to give us the word, just like in the OT he used prophets. So I would say paul may or may not have had information regarding trumpets, he has information regarding the lawless man yet he has not been revealed,

How do you explain Rom 10:9? Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

What you and others are teaching is called a works based salvation.

You misrepresent the gospel of grace, thinking it is a 'cheapened' gospel. You want to 'feel' like 'you' deserve to be take to heaven because 'you' suffer for God. Very naive statement by you. All Christians suffer and will suffer. But there is a vast difference between suffering as a witness of Jesus verse having to suffer to prove your Christianity. If you don't understand that, the entire NT is flying over your head.

@Sue J Love @Dave M @Moon888 @The Gospel of Christ

A works based salvation is not Christianity. As I have stated many times now, most of you simply have no idea as to what exactly a Christian is.

Whilst it is noble to want to endure hard times for Jesus, a works based salvation comes with its own set of evils.

A works-based salvation, the idea that good deeds or actions earn God's favor, can lead to several negative consequences. It can create a system of judgment and condemnation, foster pride and boastfulness, and potentially lead individuals to focus on outward performance rather than genuine relationship with God. This approach can also obscure the core message of grace and forgiveness, which is central to many Christian beliefs.

Here's a more detailed look at the potential evils of a works-based salvation:
  • Judgment and Fear:
A works-based system can create a climate of fear and anxiety, as individuals constantly strive to meet an unattainable standard. This can lead to a focus on outward performance rather than genuine repentance and a relationship with God.

  • Pride and Boasting:
The belief that one can earn salvation through their actions can foster a sense of pride and boastfulness. Individuals might start to see themselves as superior to others, forgetting that salvation is a gift from God.

  • Obscuring Grace:
A works-based approach can overshadow the core message of grace and forgiveness, which is a key element of many Christian denominations. It can create a sense that God's favor is dependent on human effort, rather than being a freely offered gift.

  • Distorted Understanding of Good Works:
While good works are encouraged in many Christian traditions, they are not meant to be a means of earning salvation. Instead, they are considered a manifestation of faith and a response to God's grace.

  • Potential for Hypocrisy:
A works-based system can lead individuals to outwardly display good works while harboring resentment or unconfessed sin. This can create a false sense of righteousness and hinder genuine spiritual growth.

  • Focus on External Actions:
The emphasis on good works can sometimes overshadow the importance of internal transformation and a genuine relationship with God. Individuals may focus on fulfilling rituals or outward behaviors, neglecting the spiritual aspects of their faith.

Both books are written through man by GOD, men are simply the way he chose to give us the word, just like in the OT he used prophets. So I would say paul may or may not have had information regarding trumpets, he has information regarding the lawless man yet he has not been revealed,
I am wondering would God use the seventh trumpet (last trump) in Revelations which is for signaling judgement as a call to catching away of His Church or the seventh trumpet (feast of trumpets) which is used for the gathering of His people?

How God deals with Israel as the Mosaic covenant is still in force to the Jews is different in how God deals with His Church. How God deals with His Church includes both Jews and gentiles. Jesus main mission in coming to the Earth was for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Jesus said…

Mat 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Every thing we read in the book of Mathew concerning Jesus second coming was directed towards the Jews. Not the Church

Since the Jews rejected Jesus as their messiah God has blinded them for a time until the fullness of the gentiles have come in, then God will remove their blindness and turn his attention towards them which happens Turing the great tribulation period.

Rom 11:25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

The book of Daniel foretells of a time called Jacob’s trouble in the 70 weeks (7 years) of Daniel. Jacob name was changed by God to Israel which means the seven years of tribulations is Israel trouble in which God dealing once again forwards Israel his elect. Why would God anoint 144,000 Jews to evangelize the world if it was not for the Jews?
